Re: Newbie Intro Thread - Week of 4/17
Ages (you and SO): me 38, hubs 48
How many months have you been TTC? Just got my Mirena removed today!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Old-fashioned way
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I have 2 kids. My son is 10, and my daughter is 8. Hubs and I have always talked about having at least 3, but never pursued it til now! We arent getting any younger, so we had better get this show on the road!!
I enjoy watching collegiate athletics.
Are there other 35+ on here? I checked out the 35+ board, but it doesnt seem to be as active. I look forward to chatting with yall as I begin this journey. It's like we're starting over!
My sister and I are close to 7 years apart, and I loved having the gap. Plus, my parents loved having a built-in babysitter later on!
Ages (you and SO):
32, H is 33.
How many months have you been TTC? We are going to start trying for our second baby now. We have a seven month old baby girl. I'm still Breast feeding so I haven't had my period back yet. It took us a long time to get pregnant the first time so we aren't wasting any time this go around!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
It's hard bc of the no period thing. I have a doctor appointment on June 8th (earliest I could get) to discuss our options.
We didn't expect it to take so long to have our first daughter. We eventually did IVF, but we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and our doctor has suggested that we try the old fashion way for up to a year before considering IVF again.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 33 and DH is 32
How many months have you been TTC? its been 2.5 years, at first we thought it was just that I travel a lot for work and our timing was off, but after running ALL the tests and trying things like Femara and TI we started seeing a RE.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? we're actually doing our first round of IVF/FET, we transferred our first frozen embryo today.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
DH and I met at a friends wedding in 2006, got married in 2009. No kids yet, but we do have a wonderful fur kid named Isaac that I rescued when I was working Hurricane Isaac in 2012. Hes a chow/schitzu (sp?)/mini poodle mix and is just adorable.
I'm a catastrophe adjster for an insurance company (I travel 23 days a month on average and climb on roofs to look for storm damage) DH is a restaurant manager. Free time I'm usually watching Netflix, reading or trying to get to the gym (although IF treatments make that harder bc all the hormones are jacking with my energy levels!

Together Let Us Seek the Heights
Ages (you and SO): I'm 31; he's 30.
How many months have you been TTC? 74 days, so 2 months plus a bit
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? OPKs (until it became clear my body was doing something wacky), temping (until the time change messed me up badly), checking CM, on day 7 of a 10 day course of Provera to bring on AF so we can do some tests and see why my body isn't working normally (no AF for 74 days, no BFP)
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids yet. I have a 10-yr-old schnoodle who I adore. I'm a lawyer - mostly estate planning, successions, succession litigation, corporate stuff. I love knitting and cross stitching, drawing, painting, reading sci-fi and fantasy, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and shopping. I don't like cooking, but I like eating, so I cook. I used to have a veggie garden but gave it up this year because we're TTC and live in an area where garden = mosquitoes = Zika risk.
@JuliaGoolia719 - I love that you rescued a hurricane dog. I got caught in a hurricane once. Scary stuff. We were eating potato chips for days. When a single Mexican restaurant opened and started serving fajitas, I swear they were the best things I've ever eaten. Kudos to you for going into disaster areas. You're a brave lady!
Edited to correct typos. I like drawing not "drama wing," although DH would prob say I like drama
Also edited to remove personally-identifying info.

Ages (you and SO): I am 25 and DH is 27!
How many months have you been TTC? This will be our third month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Just purchased a CBFM and will start using it this cycle. So far we haven't really been "trying", just not preventing. It took us 11 months to conceive our DD (using opks, pressed, no alcohol or caffeine) so we're expecting the same for #2.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm a SAHM to a beautiful 5 month old baby girl. She is our first and we are ready for #2! We want all of our kiddos to be close in age. My DH will be a first year resident physician starting in July of this year. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for 10 years! As far as hobbies go I love lifting weights, cooking, movies, yoga, traveling, and being outdoors.

I’m not a hobby person. I want to do things, and I buy the supplies to make the things, and then I either don’t do them or I start working on them and then stop because I’m not actually very good at crafting. Haha. Oh and the fiancé and I met while watching football at Buffalo Wild Wings.
