@dumbledoredies don't. I kind of skimmed WTEWYE, but I'm telling you. Labor & delivery were easier on me and easier on my doctors/nurses because I was so laid back about the whole thing. Yeah, I had a "plan" but I was totally flexible with my plan and just went with the flow.
But I am also one of those people who freak out over knowing too many details so it was probably best for my brain to kind of go into it blindly. I'd heard enough horror stories from my friends/family that I didn't need any other gory details or possibilities.

I had a dream last night that this baby was a girl and I kept forgetting to feed her. Cue the beginning of breastfeeding stress dreams... again.

I've literally done no research on giving birth yet. I feel like I'm failing pregnancy so bad. I read about 20 pages in What to Expect and haven't gone back since. I'm probably doing everything wrong and I don't even know it! Shouldn't I be scouring through books learning as much as possible? Yep. Instead I'm too busy eating chocolate cake and watching Netflix.
The Business of Being Born. It's not on Netflix but I'm sure you can find someway to stream and then you can avoid reading. Also there was one I watched about Breastfeeding that was really eye opening. I don't remember the name, maybe Milk?
@mrs_fogue the business of being born is on YouTube. Just watched it last week with H. (i am scared of hospitals now lol) And yep the other one on bf is Milk

When did they take it off of Netflix? I just watched it a few months ago there.

@mrs_fogue@yasandson is Milk the one where the lady squirts some of her milk into the scrambled eggs? If so, I think I watched that a couple years ago and that was literally the only thing that stuck with me.
DH was scared to let me make him eggs after he saw that.
@purplestarz if it is I don't remember that part...well maybe I do. I just remember the guy who started breastfeeding. I tried to talk DH into becoming that committed. LOL!
@mrs_fogue Yeah I am pretty sure it's still on there. Along with the 4 hour long follow up episodes that look at some topics in more detail.

Few things make me as sad and pathetic-feeling as wanting to go do something and then realizing I have no one to go with. I want to go check out yard sales and I have no one to come with me except my 3yo. But I want someone to talk to and get excited about finding steals with!!
I miss the days when my one friend worked odd retail hours so we could do stuff during the day and our kids are the same ages, so we really related to each other. We also used to work together but then she got moved to a different store about 7 months before I quit. Now she works "real" hours and so I never see her and our friendship basically fell apart. My other friend used to be a sahm and now she works until 1, has to pick up her baby from the sitter and by that time, it's too late to really do anything before our kids get out of school.
Sorry for the dear diary. I'm sure others can relate. Or I'm the only loser here with no friends lol
We went to the dark side last summer and gave up a really nice SUV for a minivan. We wanted new license plates and it was the same price to get it with random letters/numbers or pick your own so DH personalized them, and they came in yesterday. It says something referencing the fact that it's not our former SUV (can't say exactly what it says bc stranger danger ). Nobody is going to understand what it really means except us, but we find it so amusing.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut the minivan is seriously so awesome. I wish we had made the plunge sooner! Everyone should stop pretending to be cool and just give in and get one!
FYI friends, I know a ton of you wear LLR, if anyone is looking to browse a sale, I have my shiz up now. If you'd like to browse just inbox me, I don't want to drop the link here because ya know, solicitation and such.

Ugh, no I can definitely relate. I have a few great friends but none of them have kids. If I want to do something, it usually has to happen on week day mornings and my friends are always hungover/sleeping/etc.
Then if they do invite me to something it's usually 10pm and at a bar. Like, I'm a pregnant mom....
@sjohns08 and @purplestarz I'm with you ladies. I have some friends that are in the same graduate program as me, but they are all at a different stage in life. I'm married with a baby on the way, and they are all still in the boyfriend & partying stage. We get along fine, but it feels really lonely sometimes not having anyone to share married/momma stuff with.
@sjohnso8. I hear ya. I'm not even a mom yet and feel kind of lonely sometimes. Most of my close (used to be?) friends are not married and don't have kids and seem uncomfortable spending time with me. I'm having trouble finding people in my same situation I'm to be friends with.

@TallMomma29 I feel like you trolling me and you are my friend. She is tall, her H is tall, they are in the military, and she is always trying to get me to get a minivan bc of cup holders.
@sjohns08 I hear you too! I've lived in my city for about 5 years now and I don't feel like I have friends here that I can just call up and go do something with when I feel like I need some girl time. Originally it was because I was living here, but working in a city over 2 hours away, and then over an hour away. So I had friends where I worked, but it was hard to hang out up there since I lived so far away, and hard to make friends around home since I spent all my time working and commuting. I finally quit last year, but I have trouble making good friends here too. It's hard to make new friends as an adult with kids! You're not alone!
@sjohns08 I feel the same way! I would totally go with you! I love garage sales!
@TallMomma29 We plan on getting a minivan this summer or early fall sometime. What kind did you get? We've been looking at the Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.
@TallMomma29 I feel like you trolling me and you are my friend. She is tall, her H is tall, they are in the military, and she is always trying to get me to get a minivan bc of cup holders.
I think there are like 15 cupholders. Why do you need 15 cupholders for a maximum of 8 passengers? Why not??? Haha
But, your friend can't be me because I am always trying to convert people to minivans for the sliding doors. I would marry my sliding doors if that was an option. I love them more than my husband because they do so much more for me. Only slightly kidding.
So, I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to stir stuff up on the religion thread. How come she gets to read into things and it's fine and she gets an apology? But when I read too much into things I'm a monster and mean?
I heart theSkimm I heart YNAB --------- “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore
@curlyq423 we have the Odyssey! We were looking at both and at the end of the day we liked the toyota more on the outside and the honda more on the inside, and figured if we were already making the plunge into darkness anyway, we should get the one that was the most useful for us, not the one that looked moderately less fugly on the outside.
For us, we liked that you can fit 3 carseats across in the middle row (can't do that with the Sienna), which was a perk because we were planning to have one more kid soon, and it would be nice to be able to keep them all in the middle row at first. The Odyssey also has slightly more leg room (at the expense of a little cargo space. The Sienna has slightly more cargo space and slightly less leg room). That was a perk to us since we're so tall and our kids will likely be super tall too. Also, the model of the Sienna that we wanted (the sporty looking one) has one of those awesome really big sunroofs, but we tall folks couldn't sit up straight without our heads hitting the ceiling so that was a no go.
Probably more info than you were looking for but there ya go! DH had been deployed for 7 months and I just casually mentioned to him that we should at least give a minivan a test drive when he got back, because I was sooo sick of trying to contort myself and my girls to get them into their rear facing carseats when we were parked in a parking lot and the doors couldn't open all the way. He did extensive research before he got home, and we had purchased the Odyssey in less than a week!
@sjohns08 I would totally be your yard sale buddy!! I remember going with my mom all the time growing up and it was always so much fun. It gets exciting as the kids get older and get excited over stuff too ( my 10 year old loves to come with me)
It's a comp weekend - insert cry face emoji here. So to try and save money on food ( because we typically can easily burn through 300 bucks a comp weekend just on food and drinks) I made chicken salad , pasta salad , cut up watermelon, strawberries were washed, candy was packed, snacks prepared in snack baggies, and I stocked up on water bottles and flavored seltzers. Annnnndddd cue me crying tomorrow because I won't want any of it.
@TallMomma29 Thank you! I appreciate all the info! We also like the outside look of the Toyota over the Honda, but we haven't actually looked inside or test drove any yet.
We will need to fit 3 car seats as well this fall and I'm SO looking forward to sliding doors.
However, we are both people who travel out of town a lot to see family, so cargo room may be more important to us since we don't require a lot of leg room
@CurlyQ284 if you want to do 3 across in the middle row, there is sooo much cargo space with the third row down in either version! We currently drive like that all the time, but will have to change it after the twins are here. But even with all the seats up, both versions have so much more cargo space than an SUV with 3 rows. There is a deep well in the back that is awesome!
