FFFC: I'd much rather be sleeping tomorrow, than getting up early to: drop DS at the in-law's, pick up a rental truck so we can move yard brush a quarter mile down the road to the monthly drop off, do more yard work, then clean up, drop off the truck and head to the in-law's again and have a heavy Easter meal. I just want to sleep.
I love my in-laws, but I don't want to spend my entire weekend with them. Which we will be, since DH's grandfather is still in town, and we're also having dinner with them tonight as well. Jesus take the wheel, I'm running out of patience with life this week.
On the partner going to appointments topic... not an FFC but falls under who's a twat. My husband has only come to the two ultrasounds and I'm totally fine with that. However, the second ultrasound was a day where he had a lot of work stress going on, some big deadline, and he grumbled, "this couldn't come at a worse time." I exercised extreme restraint to not verbally respond nor kick him in the nuts. ONE appointment (total 2 in 9 months) is inconvenient?? Do you know how much work I miss for all these checkups and tests...!?!
But after that appointment he's been showing off the ultrasound photo every chance he gets, which is too cute, so he's forgiven for his boneheaded comment.
It's 6PM, I already napped today, but I'm seriously considering going to bed right now. DS is spending the night with grandparents and I've slept really crappy this week.
@Mango517 He's usually pretty good and fortunately the office I go to is very small and I don't have to wait long, but it's stressful at moments. He and my doctor love each other and she usually sits in her lap while she's talking to me. The whole staff loves him and they actually get sad when I don't bring him.
*stuck in box*
@SouthernMama15 omg LOLOLOL I totally thought you were talking about your husband not your son and I was like WTF?! But totally on the same page now. Bless.
HA I totally pictured the doctor sitting in her DH lap, too!
DH has come to most of my appts so far cause some kinda of test result is involved but mostly I think it's cause he feels bad that he wasn't even there when we conceived our child - I had to go to the fertility clinic on my own with a cup of his "specimen" in my bra cause he couldn't get out of work. Still loving those "are you sure it's his" comments when I get to reply "who knows, he wasn't there when this guy was conceived so hopefully"!

DH hasn't been to any of my OB appointments, not even the ultrasounds. I feel like I might be the only person who has gone to an anatomy scan without someone else. The ultrasound tech said, "Oh, there's nobody here with you today." It sounded slightly judgmental when she said it. DH and I have very different work schedules. It hasn't bothered me that he hasn't been to any of my appointments. We have enjoyed looking at the ultrasound pictures together after the appointments; I was sent home with a couple dozen ultrasound pictures from my anatomy scan and at least half a dozen pictures from each of my other two ultrasounds.
I like to get in and out of appointments as quickly as possible so I prefer that H doesn't come. I think he came to a couple appointments for our first born, the anatomy scan for our second and for thIs baby he made it to the last half of the anatomy scan.
DH came to almost every appointment with our 1st, only the ultrasounds with our last 2, and only my 1st appointment/ultrasound so far this time. I have my anatomy scan on 4/25, and I'm kinda bummed he won't be there. I guess it's just not as exciting the fourth time around!
@bumpybump if you have a rice cooker, you can use it to make foolproof perfect hard boiled eggs- seriously. I was just like you- my eggs would either be not fully cooked or a total nightmare to peel, and this trick changed my life!!
