@aurora1973 I was actually going to say something snarky
yesterday about your sister’s shower for a third kid but I didn’t want to hurt
your feelings. She has had showers for
all 3 pregnancies?! What the what?! No.
I have to agree with @loveindc – asking for cash for a
wedding gift is a bit tacky (ugh those gross poems) but giving it is certainly
not or hinting at it with a small registry.
My UO is I don’t care about comma rules.
History and blog link in spoiler

May 2019 - surprise natural pregnancy ended in MC Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks May 2020 FET; BFN July 2020 FET; CP treated with methotrexate Oct 2020 BFP!
My sister did a honeymoon registry but then she never went on the honeymoon and just spent the money on whatever. That is part of the reason I despise those sites.
Ooo here's an UO: I hate hot beverages. Hot coffee. Hot tea. Hot chocolate. I can't. It's too hot to drink for ever, then it's okay for 2 seconds, then it's cold, but not in the purposeful way. I'd rather it just be iced to begin with.

@JJMNO1616 I literally roll my eyes out of their sockets every time someone says that. Dude, were not going to tell anyone what your future baby's name is lol. Staaaaahp.
My UO is that I'm tired of grammar coming up as an UO almost every week (or is that a FFFC?). It's not an opinion, it's either right or wrong (ok, maybe Oxford comma is up for debate).
I definitely agree on the overuse of professional photography. My SIL is arranging a photographer for a family beach vacation she planned (over her 1 year wedding anniversary), and wants all the girls to wear Lilly Pulitzer dresses so we can match but not match. Thankfully she bought me mine, because that stuff isn't cheap (and not really my style). It's not until September, so I'm not sure what will happen if I (FX) get KTFU and can't fit in it anymore.

*snip*
I was lurking and thought the same thing. @Aurora1973 impressive that you can keep a smile on with a 3rd shower.
okay, I'll confess...I don't use the oxford comma...I would like to point out that I learned AP style and AP style does NOT call for the oxford comma. This may be why your clients take it out of the marketing @5099peperk
@LoveInDC my DH is the same way, hates hot beverages. I always joke that I will get him a lukewarm-chocolate
@Pinky917 the L&D photography has got to go. I have a friend that is a photographer and she does sessions for every holiday and each season. it's great for her, she's made a business out of it, but I keep wondering who are these people that pay for professional pics 8-10x a year. We used to get dragged to the olan mills/department store studio once every 5 years for the awful family picture with the cheesy woodland or laser backdrop. What happened to that?
My UO: I don't like the Real Housewives of _____. Some of those gifs are great, but I've never made it through a single episode. I don't get it.

@Avrilmai oh my gosh, the lazer backdrops!! And yes, most of my clients and my company internally follow AP style, I just think it is weird when you are listing a list of several services or conditions you treat and don't use one.

Totally agree and way too expensive. I think it's kind of cute for kids but not adults and I'm not spending that much money on an article of clothing for a child.
@breezybee I'm not a huge soup fan in general. But when I eat soup, there has to be something in it to eat (noodles, chicken, somethings). I don't mind eating hot things out of soup, but I don't drink the hot broth. Even tomato soup, I only use it to dip grilled cheeses into. Hot liquid alone is a no go for me.

Ok, here is one that I have been holding for a while. I really am not a fan of professional photography, and I don't understand why every occasion needs to have its own photoshoot. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some beautiful photos, but so many of the posed shots just seem so fake to me (and then there are the overly sexual wedding photo poses I have seen around that just make me want to gag). Also, I can understand wedding photos and newborn photos, but now everyone also has engagement photos, maternity photos, I have even seen people do a photoshoot on their honeymoon, and it all just seems excessive to me. I reached my breaking point when I learned that L&D photography was a thing...
Somehow I totally missed this earlier! So as crazy as L&D photography sounds, I am kicking myself for not forking out the cash for it (I'm cheap AF). I have absolutely no interest in documenting each grimace throughout labor, nor would I want a camera in my vag when delivering, BUT: the first moment that baby is put in your arms? I wish I had an entire wall of framed pictures of that. Knowing I'll have a c-section again if I'm lucky enough to get KU, I think we'll hire a photographer just to document those first few moments. An iPhone picture taken by a busy nurse just doesn't do it justice.
@laurad75 Oh, hell no you won't hurt my feelings. My other sister and I both will have a lot of trouble avoiding eye rolls so hard that our faces may freeze that way. I just cannot even get my head around why this is necessary. I would rather go visit right after he's born, but like I said, I'm a good sister and auntie. My complaining about it will just make everyone miserable and not fix a thing. So glad I have you guys, LOL.
Thanks @Avrilmai! I take pride in the ability to tolerate bullshit that I've cultivated over the years. Also, I truly love my sister, even if she's a freaking diva.
If only she were a cool, less annoying diva, like Freddie...

I'm on board with the Oxford comma. My boss is not.
@LuND we went to a wedding in Jamaica held at Catcha Falling Star which is this tiny and incredible resort in Negril. We stayed there too - not an all inclusive but there is a great restaurant on site. I planned all our outings and they came with a ride to and from included. If you ever go back I highly recommend Catcha.
My UO - and it may be divisive - I do not like gender reveal parties. Went to one recently where the parents already knew. What even is the point if the parents are not finding out at the party?
