hey ladies...especially the super busty ones, have your doctors told you to specifically stop wearing underwire bras? if so, are there any brands that you recommend that actually give you comfortable support?
My doctor hasn't said anything about switching. I'm a 32j after going up 5 cup sizes in first trimester and had a hell of a time finding bras. I'm still using underwire for day/out of the house, but ordered a 'custom' wireless from decent exposures for around the house. They make it after you order it, and it's been well worth the money. Plan to switch to bravado essential embrace for nursing since that's the only bra I can find in my size. Bare necessities and Amazon prime are great for trying on several sizes/styles and returning what doesn't work.
@IsItTacoTuesday 1) your name makes me hungry 2) daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn girl! 5 sizes! i'm so glad you fond someting that works! before ttc, i was a 38c/36D. now, i'm a 38e. i'm giving third love a try. i LOVE my bra. it's comfy and my boobs look amazing. they're pricey...BUT they do a 30 day try-before-you-buy trial. you can take the tags off, wash, wear, etc... if you dont like it, return it for free. if you do like it, keep it and they charge your card. and all the used bras they get back get donated to womens shelters nationwide. win/win. they only go up to g, though.
@ohheyitskristine Ohhh i'll have to check out! They sound like a wonderful company. I used to be a 34DD and no idea what I'm at now... but they are feeling pretty huge. Anyway, haven't bought a new bra yet... but I need to.
my boobs haven't really changed size.... i was 38DD pre-pregnancy and still fit my bras comfortably...however i have moved to no underwire just for comfort.. they are still super tender at times and i find the wire hurts...the DR never mentioned anything tho
for brands all my bras with underwire i bought at Torrid or Lane Bryant....when I wanted some without i went to the L'eggs Hanes Bali Playtex Outlet Store to buy some on sale haha I normally hate bras without underwire and plan on ditching these as soon as I can so I didn't want to spend much money on them

@ohheyitskristine lol! I want tacos for every meal. The boob growth is painful on my back and shoulders that's for sure, less so with good fitting bras. The third love ones look awesome, but too small for my bazoongas. I've had luck with Freya (pure style) and Panache (Eleanor style), but those were my fav brands before pregnancy anyway. Fit Fully Yours also fits great and they are pretty!
I didn't have to switch last time until after baby came. I didn't love my bras, but eventually I found Cake nursing bras and have never looked back. They make both wireless and underwire that is flexible.
I bought new bras as I went from a 38DD to a 38H. I haven't used a wireless bra in about 15 years. I'm still trying to research nursing bras. I love seeing everyone's recommendations!
@IsItTacoTuesday Tacos are amazing. My best friend and I get tacos every Tuesday which make Tuesday's awesome. Basically your name makes me happy.
I got a wireless bra that's actually a nursing bra from Target (Gilligan brand) - it's super comfy and looks more like a sports bra so still coverage without annoying pinching. I bough it a little bigger so I can grow into and so far so good. Plus it's nursing so it'll come in handy once I'm feeding baby. Even if I get bigger and need the next size up, I'll hold onto this for when my milk supply goes down a little. My doctor hasn't said a thing but I switched on my own last pregnancy after growing to a 38G by week 16. I love the Reese bras fro My motherhood Maternity. They also have nursing clips. Soooooo comfortable

Is that this bra: CLICK ? If so, which size did you go with?

@Swazzle The link just led me to the general motherhood site. I googled it and found the link from Macy's. So, if this is it… That's the right bra. I went with an extra large because I wanted it to last through the pregnancy and after. It did. Otherwise, I could've gone with a large easily.
I'm not super busty (36C pre-pregnancy, no clue now since I've avoided real bras for the last year and just used sports bras or bralettes and every time I try a real bra on in stores, I just can't bring myself to buy it), so these might not be great for enough support if you're a lot bigger than me...but I just got these H&M nursing bras with no wires and they're super comfy. idk how long they'll hold up, but I figure even if they stretch out and aren't great support later, I can use them as comfy overnight bras while nursing.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll ask here. What about comfy undies? Many of mine are not cutting it any more. They're either too tight, or rolling down at the top. I've heard actual maternity undies aren't super necessary, but I figured I'd ask the experts.

I'm by no means an expert but I like the VS string bikinis in cotton. Full tush coverage and are low enough not to roll down. Plus, cotton.
