Posted this on 3rd tri thread, but wanted to post here as well:
Has anyone heard of starting contractions with a breast pump?? My SIL just texted me that if I'm ready for baby, I should pump. This scares me. I've never pumped and the thought of doing it now makes me nervous. Oh and the whole part about going into labor afterwards LOL. I'm going to ask my OB on Wed, but just wanted to know if y'all had heard about this method of jump starting labor. I might get desperate come next week
*TW - Pregnancy mentioned* Me: 28 DH: 33, Married May 2014 3 failed IUIs Dec '15 - Feb '16 IVF April/May 2016 - 1 failed fresh transfer. 11 snow angels.
1st FET 7/29/16 = BFP Lawson arrived on 4/24/2017 at 7lbs 15oz, 21 1/2 inches long! Surprise pregnancy!! Baby #2 due 10/11/18
@babylonghorn16 it's essentially the same thing as nipple stimulation for induction of labor. It stimulates oxytocin which starts labor and contractions ...similar to pitocin although that is the artificial oxytocin. There is definitely solid medical evidence to support it that it can help start labor but I would still ask the doctor. Other things that can start labor are walking, climbing stairs, sex, certain pressure points(one of my friends had a massage and went into labor a few hours later).
@carterh33 , higher is better and I don't think a cause for concern. What did your nurse say when they called with a result. Remind me - did you transfer more than one? Could be twins!

@byrneme@wifeinraleigh28 all they said really it "looks great". When I got my trigger shot they said I only had one mature follie, but I would love twins! Thank you!
Hey Ladies! Anyone planning on doing an easter pregnancy announcement? I had my ultrasound with the re today & everything went perfect so he released me. I really want to do an announcement, but I'll be 9 weeks on the dot. Not sure if that's way too early to start announcing or not.
Hey all! This question pertains to Endometrin suppositories. I've been on them since 2 days after my IUI. (March 10) I was released from my RE to Obgyn on Monday(April 10)when we heard little babes HB for the first time. I'm 6w5d just more recently like a few days ago I would get very light pink discharge on the applicator tip. RE said to be more careful when inserting it as the cervix is very sensitive now. Which I have been but tonight I feel like I did it wrong again and when I pulled it out it was more brownish red! Never spotting on my panty liners or wipe, just the very teeniest drop on the tip of the applicator. Any common experiences out there to help ease my mind?! So much appreciated
I had the same problem at 10 weeks and just had a friend with the same problem at 8 weeks. It's easy to get a little bleed. Brown is old blood so you may have loosened some left over blood. I think a lot of other girls will be able to chime in - a lot of us have had some kind of bleed at some point in the first tri. Hope you are doing ok - I can relate to how concerning it can be but all was ok for both my friend and I

@JWatt5 thank you so much for the reassurance. Its so scary. I'm only on the suppositories for ten more days. My RE is having me stop them at 8weeks. i am doing ok now thank you.
I saw an acquaintance announce last Easter with a basket of Easter eggs, each with their names and their children's names on them with an unnamed egg in the middle. It had something like the due date on it. People announce when they are comfortable with it. If you want to announce, I say go for it. I'd love to see whatever you do if you do announce.

@famiylgrl86 announce it to your family when you are ready! Congrats on getting released from your RE! We announced at 9 weeks which happened to be Christmas with our families. We figured we would rather have the support if something happened then having to explain after.
@shytonia I agree with @jwatt5 definitely sounds like old blood since it was brownish in color, most likely just an irritated area from the suppositories.
@famiylgrl86 I think a good way of thinking about it is share with the people you would want support from if things don't go well. We told our immediate family and a couple of very close friends at about 5 weeks and now all our friends we actively keep in touch with know but we still haven't "gone public" on social media (I'm currently 27 weeks!).
@ShyTonia This sounds very normal and not concerning but I would tell your RE so they can double check next time you have a scan.
@famiylgrl86 It's entirely up to you when you feel comfortable. We announced to our immediate family (parents and our sisters) after our betas. We announced to our extended families at 12 weeks, and then did a social media announcement around 15/16 weeks. That's just what we felt comfortable with. But everyone is different. I agree with what others said about announcing to those you would want support from if you had a loss (if you announce before you reach 2nd trimester).

@famiylgrl86 - I told my own family after the second beta as they knew I was waiting for beta results/in treatment. It was December when I found out so DH wanted to do a Christmas Announcement for DH's family, I was 7 weeks on Christmas Day (we saw a heartbeat at 6w3d). I was very nervous as I hadn't told them about the prior loss we had but it did feel good to tell them and I would have been ok enough to tell them we lost the baby if we did - we just asked them not to tell anyone else until they saw that we had announced on social media, please don't buy anything etc cause it was still so early. Then we didn't tell extended until 13 weeks (after NT scan), social media at 15 weeks. Just go with your gut - and like the other girls said - think about who you would like support from/would be ok going back to if something happened.

Thanks @ARB425 and @nellin-2. Today has been better, this morning was ok and this evening nothing on the tip of applicator. I'm not putting it in as far and I am pointing it back alittle. So I think that's helping! I think I just got a little too used to doing it every day I forgot to take my time. Ughhhh. Next appt is the 19th with a new Obgyn. And I'll have to have my US done in an outside office because of how my insurance works ... not too happy about that, but it is what it is.
