If you're just joining us, please post a mini synopsis in your first post with your EDD, how many beans, if you know the sex(es) and how you have been feeling in your 3rd trimester along with any appointments you may have this week or had recently.
QOTW: Food! Have you had any cravings in the third tri? Do you have certain foods that are your go-to comfort foods? Are you indulging in anything that you normally wouldn't? Let us know!
If you have updated bump pics, please share! We love seeing these baby bellies!!! Or if you'd like to share a pic of your little one's nursery, feel free to share that cuteness as well!

Re: 3rd Trimester Weekly Check-in - Week of 10th April
37 weeks here! So close! I found out all my tests/bloods last week came back normal so that's good news! I am feeling a little better this week, that being said I spent the majority of today on self-appointed bed rest and it felt good to just chill-out! This week I think I'll do another self-care day and get my eyebrows waxed and tinted, I might even treat myself to a pedicure!
QOTW - it's been cooling down over here in Aus, so I've been indulging in hot chocolates at least once, and sometimes twice a day. I haven't had any weird cravings during this pregnancy but the last few weeks I've been drinking a lot of OJ which I don't normally do. Coming up to Easter weekend has meant that our household has had lots of those yummy mini chocolate eggs which I've eaten way too many of! Has anyone else slacked a little on the food restrictions as they've gotten closer to EDD?

EDD 1st May 2017 *Baby Boy*
@teriulbricht - i am all for self care! Love that you're giving yourself self-appointed bed rest, that's an awesome idea.
I have my first NST appointment on Wednesday. I have a feeling all is well, so it will be nice to see what this baby is up to while I'm hooked up to the monitors. If all looks good, I'll feel pretty good about discussing alternatives to induction with my OB after. *Knock on wood* but I haven't had a single problem/complication this entire pregnancy and my gut is just telling me that I should be able to have this baby normally without being induced. We'll see what she says, but I have a feeling she's going to defer me to my high risk doctor to have that conversation. I'll be seeing the MFM on May 4th for another growth scan so I can always discuss it with her then.
I went to the chiropractor this morning and she always works on my round ligaments which feels so much better after. As she was feeling around my uterus she said that the baby is now head down, so if she's right, I'm pretty happy about that! I've actually been feeling recently like the baby is head down anyway because I've felt a lot of shifting since 3 weeks ago when she was transverse at my last ultrasound, and I've been feeling stronger kicks high up near my ribs. I know it's still early though, but at least this is a step in the right direction.
@teriulbricht Funny, as I was reading your post I was eating a chocolate cookie! I have no self control when it comes to sugar right now and my sugar cravings are stronger than ever. So yes, I have been slacking on the pregnancy diet for sure. I do try to make sure I get plenty of protein in my diet though, and I try to eat more vegetables and fruit than normal, but other than that I'm not exactly a role model when it comes to diet.
@JaneJane I'm so sorry you're in the hospital! But glad to hear the babies look good, and that bleeding and contractions have stopped. At 30 weeks you're in a good position at least if you do have to deliver those babies, but here's hoping you get to 35 weeks!
QOTW: Like I mentioned, sugar cravings have been insane. DH took me to get donuts yesterday because I wanted donuts so badly. We bought 4 but I was good and only ate one (and so did DH). We'll probably finish them off after dinner tonight. I've also been craving Mexican food a lot. Like nachos and enchiladas!

@teriulbricht saw your note from last week's thread. I'll dm you my birth plan... it's nothing mind blowing, but maybe it'll help organize your thoughts! As for food restrictions, I was never really that strict tbh... I'm all about moderation with the exception being alcohol. No wine for this momma, but also no judgement for mom's who decide to have a glass. I will say I let loose on eating healthy at about 37 weeks and haven't looked back lol! I'm in IDGAF mode
AFM - 39 weeks over here, and still very much pregnant. I honestly feel pretty great still. My feet hurt and the heartburn is no fun, but my energy level seems normal (maybe a tad low) and I'm HARDCORE nesting

YES to Mexican food @wifeinraleigh28!! I can't get enough cheese enchiladas, rice, and refried beans. Oh and queso (of course). Luckily we're in Texas and have Mexican restaurants on every corner
@wifeinraleigh28 I think talking to your MFM about holding off on induction is a great idea. I've never been too keen on the idea of inducing labor. I think as long as you're smart about it (and it sounds like you are), you should follow your gut! I hope they are on board!

@wifeinraleigh28 sounds like the chiropractor really knows what their doing and I'm glad you're carpal tunnel has eased up. I can't imagine the discomfort. Now that baby has also turned, you shouldn't need an induction if everything is going so well, wonder why they keep bringing it up.
@teriulbricht self-care is the best thing ever. I also went for a mani/pedi this weekend and intend to get my hair done and maybe a nice head massage as well. What's the plan for Easter? It's not really celebrated here in Asia but will try to find a nice Easter brunch in some hotel.
@babylonghorn16 glad to hear you are still feeling so good. How are you hardcore nesting? I've been washing and ironing things and just generally rearranging baby clothes constantly!
afm: 37 weeks and had my cerclage removed today! I can still remember how scared I was to not make it to viability when they put it in at 18 weeks, and here we are... I'm so grateful.
It was an eventful day with quite some heavy contractions after the removal, but given baby girl is still thriving inside, they want her to stay inside for a bit longer. I got some terbutaline to stop contractions and was sent back home- feeling great for now!
Ladies I saw that cerclage thread when she took it out - she showed it to me. It looked more like barbwire! No wonder they were worried about infection... good thing I didn't see it before they put it in lol.
QOTw: im eating lots more chocolate, I'm usually not a sweet tooth at all, but now I'm loving all things with chocolate - in fact I had a chocolate lava cake with extra chocolate sauce on Sunday!
Have a great week everyone!

I'm doing pretty well. Trying not to obsess too much over kick counts. Little girl has quieter days sometimes which makes me paranoid but I think that is normal. I'm getting more than the minimum number of kicks even on those days.
QOTW: Right now I'm not having any weird cravings but I have been wanting to eat a lot of sugar. I try to limit myself to one dessert a day haha.
@JaneJane I hope you can cook those babies a little longer!
@wifeinraleigh28 I hope you can avoid induction. I've read that it can be no fun and often leads to a c-section anyway. I'm hoping for a VBAC myself so I can understand wanting to labor without interventions!

@babylonghorn16 I've heard that pumping can make you go into labor, but at the same time I'd be weary of it because I would hate for doing so to mess with your supply in any way. I've been told that you shouldn't pump at all for at least 10 days after the baby is born because you want your supply to naturally meet baby's needs... so I'm not sure how pumping BEFORE the birth would affect that. But, I am no expert! Let us know what your OB says on Wednesday.

He is technically a preemie, but he weighed in at 7lbs. 1oz. and had no breathing or cardio problems whatsoever. We are so lucky! They kept saying that if he had gone to full term, there would probably not have been a chance at attempting a vaginal delivery b/c of his size. He is a strong and healthy little guy! We are so very blessed!!!
Getting settled nursing has been a little bit of a struggle, but we are getting better at it each day. I tore pretty badly (2nd degree) along my old episiotomy scar, but I'm healing well so far and the pain is gradually getting better. We came home yesterday afternoon and DS1 got to meet his baby brother - so precious to see these two together!!! We are settling in well for now.
GL with the rest of 3rd tri - I will be lurking to check up on you all when I can! See you soon in the new mom's thread!

I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow w/ the twins. Things looked good and we were talking discharged unfortunately I started bleeding (lightly) again this morning. Doctors told me I need to get use to the idea that I might not leave until the twins are born. The goal is to get as close to 34 weeks and at a minimum 32 weeks. Good thing is that I'm not contracting. Twins currently each weighing about 3-lbs and no obvious issues. However, if the earlier they are born the more likely they'll end up in the NICU.
kelrauh - Congratulations!!!! So happy to hear that your twins are here. Please keep us posted.
@BlueEyedDreamer - congratulations on your little one too
@kelrauh I'm so happy you made it this far and babies are well. You managed to keep them healthy and safe for so long and through so much worry and so many sacrifices. You are a true champ, so happy for your little family x
@BlueEyedDreamer congratulations on the little one! You must be over the moon. Glad to hear that at 36 weeks all was ok and no need for NICU.
@wifeinraleigh28 I hope you can do the daily monitoring instead of induction, sounds like a good option, but see what your doc says. Maybe if you insist a bit they loosen up? If fetal distress is really a risk, they would never allow you to risk it at this late stage. Good luck with the appointment!

IVF in 2015. FET nr 3 in 2016 - BFP. Healthy baby girl born in April 2017.

And also congratulations @BlueEyedDreamer on the arrival of your little one. So glad that all is well with him and you and I hope your recovery is quick and you settle into nursing soon. Thanks for you well wishes!
@JaneJane I'm sorry to hear you're still on hospital bedrest with bleeding. I really hope you make it to the 34 week mark.
@wifeinraleigh28 yay for a decent nights sleep the other night. I also had one a few nights ago, it felt good! I hope your first NST goes well and you get to discuss the alternatives to induction, it sounds like you are in a really good place to have baby naturally. Can I ask is it standard over in the U.S. to have NST? I hadn't heard of them before and wasn't sure if it was a high-risk thing or just a routine procedure. Also love the chiro! Except last week when I went I was really out of alignment and it took a good 3 days to feel good, and then yesterday I decided it was a good idea to spend 3 hours cleaning my entire house and now I feel like I may need another visit. Sounds like baby has turned around, I get most of my movement up around the ribs and he is head down.
@babylonghorn16 I keep expecting to sign on and see a birth announcement from you! I'm all about everything in moderation but like you these last few weeks I've decided to just eat what I feel like! I've been finding that while my appetite is normal the amount of food I can eat at one time has really decreased. So good that you've been feeling good! Although I hear you about the heartburn
@flanners1 good on you for the mani/pedi! I just had my eyebrows waxed and tinted and it felt good. I'm not doing much in the way of Easter either, usually I'll get together with my family at some point over the long weekend but this year I have no intention of going anywhere, cooking anything or hosting anybody! What a great thing to have made it to 37 weeks! I'm also expecting an update from you every time I log on! Sounds like the cerclage looks a bit scary
@kdanjou 30 weeks! Woohoo! I got told that baby feels pretty much how I'm feeling, so if I'm feeling a little tired and lethargic chances are he is too and he won't move as much. I was also told to keep and eye on the pattern of movement, so my little one is most active during the arvo and then after about 8pm at night, so as long as I'm feeling the movement then, all should be fine. Oh why stop at one dessert! Haha, I figure if there's ever a time to be a little indulgent its now!
@rmarble23 I hear you on the waddling... I'd forgotten you have GD, I would find it so hard to restrict myself so it sounds like you are doing well resisting the urges! Surely one time wouldn't hurt

@BlueEyedDreamer wow congratulations on your early arrival, what a spectacular size for a baby that age! I'm sure it was all unexpected but what a blessing in disguise to be able to avoid a c-section.
And hi everyone, I'm 36 weeks and had waited to post because I was having an appointment and ultrasound late yesterday and thought maybe I'd have something new to report but all is pretty normal and boring for me right now! The ultrasound especially was anticlimactic, it was just a quick peek to confirm that she's head-down and facing back, so it was a blobby close-up of her skull and spine, which made her look vaguely like a dinosaur or possibly Predator. No cute views of baby wiggles this time.
@teriulbricht NSTs are standard at my dr's office for the final weeks of IVF pregnancies. I'll be starting mine this week or next! In the US they seem to do them for a variety of high-risk circumstances just to keep an eye on things. @wifeinraleigh28 hopefully yours will provide enough monitoring to stave off induction!
I'm with everyone in feeling like slacking on pregnancy diet in the final weeks, especially @rmarble23 and these demonic GD restrictions. I was traveling last week so I did some dinner-time restaurant GD cheating (bread and dessert) and it felt greeeeaaaaaat haha. @rmarble23 I say honor your craving once or twice in moderation, maybe treat yourself later in the day when tolerance is a bit stronger, and go for a good walk and have lots of water right after! I started a GD thread on this board if you want to strategize or vent further

I'm pretty frustrated and just in a bad mood. Had my 39 week appointment today... 70% effaced with no dilation. Doc called my cervix "unfavorable"... jee, thanks. We have homework though - lots of sex lol. She said a chemical in semen softens the cervix and can encourage labor. I've also been doing squats and walking a lot. Hoping this baby starts to get the message! If not, induction scheduled for 4/24.

@rmarble23 it's good that your able to indulge every now and then and it doesn't affect you too much. One indulgence isn't going to ruin all the good eating you've been doing the rest of the time!

The conversation with my OB about avoiding induction didn't go so well. She pretty much told me the benefits of inducing me early far outweigh the risks of not doing so. She said I'm at risk for placental abruption, which sounds scary but I doubt I'm really at that much risk for it considering I haven't had any autoimmune issues in over 8 years. But with my history, they want to take precautions. This is why I'm getting all these NSTs and why they want to induce me. However, because 39 weeks falls on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday), she said I won't be induced until the following Tuesday most likely, putting me closer to my due date anyway. Makes me mad actually, that they want to take all these precautions, but apparently not if it doesn't work out with their schedule? I'm trying to just focus on the fact that I'll be closer to my due date and thus have more of a chance of going into labor naturally.
@babylonghorn16 I'm sorry your cervix isn't progressing, ugh! I've heard that about semen too. In fact, I heard that the chemical in pitocin is what is in semen, so it makes sense. Makes me wonder though why we aren't told to avoid sex earlier on in pregnancy if it actually can induce labor... sounds like a mixed message to me. The thought of sex right now is pretty repulsing to me though and I'm only 32 weeks. I definitely hand it to you if you're able to DTD at almost 40 weeks!

@wifeinraleigh28 I'm sorry the conversation didn't go so well with your OB, but who knows maybe you'll go into natural labour before your induction date. So annoying that they are willing to work around their own schedule but like you said at least it's closer to EDD and gives you and baby more of a chance of spontaneous labour.
