  • @Spartanrd4 that's when I stick her under the faucet!

  • Haha. Yep. That's the fun blowout diaper.  We call them "poop-splosions" in our house.
  • Haha @EnglishTeacherMama FTM status here too but DS blew out his diaper, out his sleeper, and on DH shirt lol! We both laughed so hard! Also @jenny0228 the first time (it's happened many times since) DS peed during a change was on DH haha he started cracking up! I probably would have responded more like you did especially if it went in his mouth!
  • @Cbeanz I really like all the ones I've gotten from target

  • @Cbeanz not cheap, but I really like Rosie pope.  They are the only ones I've found that aren't super tight shapewear hugging all the wrong places.  They don't ride up and are good for layering.  I got them while still pregnant and they've held up.
  • Feeling like a human again ... DS took a 2.5 hr nap today! I was able to get so much done ... I also noticed that my valentines decorations are still up & I had coupons in the binder that expired in February. I suppose that's what happens when your on bedrest for 4 weeks and then spend a week in the hospital.

PS I only find time to bump anymore during BF there's my confession.

Same here to bumping/using FB while BF haha
That's awesome you got so much done today & feeling more yourself!

@mecoats I cried the other day over just one ounce that spilled - it definitely is heartbreaking

  • Um, my son just pooped so hard that it filled his diaper AND SHOT UP, OUT THE BACK, COVERING THE BACK OF HIS PAJAMAS even despite the fact that I was holding him upright at the time. Are these the blowouts you STMS have all have been warning the FTMs of??? hahahaha. He's been fussy all morning and now he's fast asleep. Pooping is hard work when you're tiny.
Today my baby girl had a blowout....in the front. We have had several almost blowouts (like up to the bellybutton) but today it oozed over. She was laying in her back at the time!!!

  • @EnglishTeacherMama just be happy it was only on him and not all over the room. The poop can shoot for distance and I know several parents in real life who've had to wipe down walls and clean carpets from poops that happen mid diaper change. I'll take soaking clothes and sponge bathing baby over breaking out the carpet cleaner.

  • @longliveregina we had a poop splosion today too up the front of my LO and it was like a 7 wiper. She too was on her back...in a swing at the time.

    Awful.

Haha!! I've also been noting the severity of diaper situations by how many wipes are needed.
  • @EnglishTeacherMama
Hahahahha That's pretty impressive. Dean's had a few blowouts, but they tend to go down his legs rather than up his back. With the last one, he got his clothes covered in poo, including his socks.

At 10 weeks postpartum should hcg be out of your system completely yet?

Would a pregnancy test still show positive?

HCG should be out of your blood around 3-4 weeks postpartum. It could take a little longer for some people but by 10 weeks it should be gone. Did you poas?

ETA: if you're not pregnant but still have PP bleeding and HCG, these could be signs of residual placental tissue.

I did because I return to work not this week but the next and wanted to make sure I wouldn't be exposing myself to shingles/tb etc if possibly pregnant again. My test did show a positive though - faint but definitely very much there.

My pp bleeding stopped at 3 weeks post partum which I think is normal? I wish I could post the test but the app isn't letting me.

  • Wait...how soon after birth can you get pregnant? I hadn't thought anything of it until reading @marshmallowfarts post, but I've been incredibly tired for no reason for the last week or so, my boobs hurt, I'm crabby, and I've been throwing up a fair bit. I kinda thought I just had really bad PMS, but I don't normally get tired or throw up before my period.
  • @ShannonJ96 you're very fertile the first year after birth. You can ovulate as soon as 25 days pp apparently especially if not breastfeeding.

My DH and I want a third - but after 5 years of infertility, miscarriages, an ectopic etc we never thought it could happen this quick.

  • @marshmallowfarts
Well, congratulations to you then.  :)

As for me, this is why we should never forget to use a condom. I go in for my postpartum visit on Monday. I honestly feel like I did when I got pregnant with my son, so I think I'll ask them to do a pregnancy test just for my peace of mind. Wish me luck.
  • @marshmallowfarts wow mama!! Keep us updated!

@ShannonJ96 you too!! --the first PP period is a bitch. Seriously the worst I've ever had in my life-so it *could* be just crazy hormone adjustment - but I'd definitely take a test to be sure.
  • I've been feeling so motivated with warm weather! Spring cleaning!  just packed away all of Natalie's newborn/3mo clothes and donated some things I don't want anymore should we have baby girl 3.  Unpacked and organized all the 6mo size in her drawers/closet-and put away and organized DD1s 24mo/2T clothes.

Its nice to have two girls close in age who can do the hand-me-down thing. Saves $$. But kinda feels silly to put away clothes for only a few months to just pull them out again.

I wish I had Luke's 0-3 month unpacked.. I just keep reaching into a bin and put all the newborn stuff in another drawer. SO different from when I just had James. I have some outfits that are super neutral that we got with my first and just can't use it now since we  have all boy clothes.

Im hoping that everything with sizing works out because they were born the same month.. Luke is seeming to be trending as bigger though.

  • @marshmallowfarts Wow! If it's positive, congratulations! I found out with my son on a dollar store pregnancy test and a faint line in my mind. When I showed it to my friend who struggled with infertility, she laughed at me and said it is definitely positive.  Keep us updated!

  • @marshmallowfarts very exciting!!

@ShannonJ96 can't wait to hear your update
  • @Cbeanz I haven't found a nursing cami I like so far . I do however love the nursing bras from motherhood , they resemble a sports bra and are super soft with no underwire but offer support (I'm a d cup) . I pair with a spaghetti strap tank top so it pulls down easily with the clip down bra .
  • I'm up way past my bedtime waiting for DS1 (almost 6 yrs old) to fall asleep. He is trying to catch the Easter bunny in the act.... I'm like momma needs you to go to bed kid so I can put together your Easter basket.....
this is super cute tho as this is the first year of understanding everything and excitement. He was excited last year too but its so much more this year.

  • @marshmallowfarts @ShannonJ96 keep us updated! One of my friends got pregnant right after the other and had her second son a week before her first sons 1st birthday
  •  @korpisar that is so cute! i hope he enjoys the festivities today  :)
  • I think I'm probably going to miscarry again or this is still leftover hormones. My test today was definitely positive but not as bright. We're kind of sad but hopefully we'll be back in the baby train in the next year. For now we'll enjoy our little newborn

  • @npaulie I love days like that! I too have to remind myself that things will get easier. I have to take a step back and remember my baby is 4 weeks old! She is going to fuss, cry, and sometimes not sleep! I just always find myself comparing to my sisters baby who sleeps well, latches well, and is quiet. It's hard.. seriously
