So i never watched Gilmore Girls until recently. The Year in the Life was the 1st season I watched...and it was horrible. I then decided, 'ey let's watch the whole series on Netflix because there has to be a reason why everyone is so like OMG. After 6months of my life was wasted watching SEVEN 21 episode seasons, I think it's stupid. I can see the charm 15 years ago...for when I was like 12, but no. It is not that great of a show. The only character I enjoyed was Emily Gilmore.
Since I never got the second trimester energy (very jealous @wyomama0427), and I'm constantly tired, I never want to clean the kitchen. So I have started to leave the dishes on the sink until DH breaks down and does them. Its usually takes a day, maybe two, but I've become ok with it.
@labby18 I never watched Gilmore Girls when I was younger, but around the time A Year in the Life was about to come on, I watched all seven seasons. I enjoyed the first couple seasons of Rory's highschool life, and I really enjoyed the pop culture references and seeing the styles from the early 2000s. I would screenshot stuff and send them to my younger sister like, "See it was fashionable to wear a long sleeved t-shirt under a short sleeved t-shirt." But once Rory got to college, I started hating her character. Maybe because I could see so much of myself in her, and I don't want to believe that I have the potential to hurt so many people. A Year in the Life was just horrible.
@labby18 My roommate freshman year was obsessed with Gilmore girls. She would have parties in our room and all kinds of ladies would cram in to watch it. Even back then I didn't understand why everyone liked it so much.

"I'm having fruit salad for dinner. Well, it's mostly just grapes, actually. Ok all grapes. Fermented grapes. Fine, I'm having wine for dinner."
I love Gilmore Girls, but I watched it when it aired and I was the same age as Rory and going through the same stuff she was at the time. I don't think I would feel the same if I watched it for the first time now. At some point, I did really stop liking Rory's character. As for Year in the Life, I mostly liked Emily's story. The rest was pretty meh.
I unfollowed my DH on Facebook because I was seeing every single political thing he was liking and my feed became a "DH's name likes this [political statement]." Unfollowing was the only want to make it stop.
I don't want to see any political crap on Facebook. I am there to see pictures of my friends' kids and dogs.
@HollyGolightly09 I'm going on a movie field trip next week. I'm looking forward to the dark and silence too much. Lol

Haha me too!!! I'm actually watching DH empty the dishwasher right now. I just don't have the energy
I made up "urgent" things I have to do this weekend because a friend is in town, and she asked if I'd be willing to babysit her kids so she and her DH could have a date day. I was inclined to say yes at first , and then take them to do something fun, because I really like her kids. But then she added,"I'd really appreciate it, since you're my only friend here without kids, and I don't want to disrupt anyone's family time." Aw hell no. So I magically became very busy this weekend, and I'm really going to enjoy my apparently unimportant family time with DH and our animals.
@bridge-and-wall My mom almost got the Facebook boot as well, thankfully my step-dad talked some sense into her and she stopped all the political madness.
@mrs_tacos She definitely didn't need to add the last part about not having kids so you MUST not be able to have family plans. Eye roll.
Right? We've been married a decade, but I guess we can only possibly count as a real family if we have kids. It's amazing to me how even good friends who are very aware of our long journey to get pregnant can still say hurtful, dismissive things.
@mrs_tacos Wow, that was rude. Sorry, girl, that's what babysitters and family are for, not friends who don't have kids. I hope you gave her some serious side eye during that conversation.
@bridge-and-wall I started disliking her character too. The main reason I kept coming back was to watch Lane's Mom, Emily, and hope Luke and Lorelei finally figured things out.
I Google the stupidest stuff about pregnancy for peace of mind. For example I've been coughing non stop, like deep coughs to break up phlegm, and I started wondering if all the coughing was bad for the baby. So last night I Google it, it's not.
@mrs_tacos Oh hellllllll no!!! I wouldn't have done it either. Acting like your time is less important or valuable because you don't have children yet is ridiculous.
And I'm much more apt to have my daughter babysat by friends with kids because she will have other children to play with and will have a lot more fun.
I have been calling myself 17+___ all week. I just realized two minutes ago that I'm 19 weeks today!!! I don't even know where I got off! Pregnancy brain is for real.
Edit to add. I did some investigating on my pictures... I called myself 17weeks two weeks in a row. Oiy. Holy geez, I really am nearly halfway now!! Considering both my babies came early, I most likely AM halfway through this pregnancy. OMG.

First: I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gilmore Girls. I do hate Rory's character sometimes and even the Lorelei/Luke thing is frustrating sometimes, but I think that's why i like the show, the characters are real even though the setting is totally not real life. Plus like someone else said, I watched it the first time it was out and I was about the same age as Rory and could identify with her.
Second: My FFFC: I'm not a fan of gender reveal parties. I don't mind people who do have them, but for myself, I am afraid of what my reaction might be and I don't want other people seeing that. I've just been having super strong and surprising reactions to things lately. I know that I will love either one, I don't want a huge group of people seeing my initial reaction. Plus, I will not leave that A/S without knowing, I refuse to wait one more second.
I hate it when people ask how far along I am, I say, "18 weeks!", and they stare at me for a few seconds like I'm crazy. Then ask how many months it is. Use your math skillz, divide by four and you'll have approximately your answer. Yeesh.
I never really got into Gilmore Girls, although I highly approve of Milo Ventimiglia these days.

Regarding your FFC: for my DS my husband and I found out together at the ultrasound and had a gender reveal party where the grand parents got to open the surprise. They were going to be pumped regardless (I mean we were super excited regardless too but if there was any disappointment in my face only DH and ultrasound lady saw lol) it was a lot of fun and only immediate family and friends I knew that wanted to come were invited

We are probably going to do something similar. We are going to find out at the ultrasound, and then later at a small, private gender reveal with just our families, we are going to surprise them. I am the first of my (6) siblings to have a child, so they are all very excited to be aunts and uncles.
@Carebella I can't figure out how to send snapchats. It's just so frustrating and I feel so old because I can't figure it out. My 2yo loves the filters and so that's what I use it for, entertaining a 2yo.
