Good overall, My upper back is killing me. I think I need more support in the chest.

How are you doing? Okay. My PGAL is in over-drive bc every pain or twinge I feel I think, "is this normal for this far along?"

When is your next appointment? My last generic one is this Friday, then it's back to the usually scheduled ones every 4 wks until it changes to every 2 closer to the end.

Rants/Raves/Positive vibes: I saw the baby move from the outside yesterday. It was a little punch and it was quick, but I saw it!

GTKY: @nxy had a good one in Sunday's ticker change -What do you think/find is the most annoying habit that other people have?
  • How far along are you? 22 weeks tomorrow

How are you doing? not too bad.  I wish we could have more frequent appointments, without it costing double.  A month or more between appointments is crazy for us!  I have a doppler, but I wish I could get the okay from the doctor more frequently.

When is your next appointment? April 27

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I said this in the FTM checkin but I feel like DH and I got a ton done this weekend.  We are sending our hold check to the day care we chose, got our stroller and car seat, started our registry, and signed up for the childbirth class/hospital tour! I am now obsessing about each item in the registry and wondering if its really what we want, and keep changing a few things around.

GTKY: I'm running out of questions/ideas...give me some GTKY questions and I'll ask one next week!

I googled something and this site came up.  I think there are a bunch of good ones on here.  And seeing that we all have less than 25 weeks left, we could do one a week until end of august!

  • @littlebug2010 I like those team building ones! There were a lot of questions I never would have thought of. Your productiveness has me stressing! But I'm 3 wks behind you so I'm giving myself some wiggle room to be as accomplished as you :)
  • @szwill86 believe me, all the stuff we got done this weekend was a fluke. We fell in love with the day care, and have to jump when there's an opening. We started the registry because we went to the BRU event, the car seat and stroller were a gift from DHs grand parents and we had to do our childbirth class asap, cus they sell out super fast. (The date we got is already sold out).

    How are you doing?
So much better now that we had our anatomy scan! I was freaking out the night before and the morning of but everything looked great and we got confirmation that it's a boy!
    When is your next appointment?
Just a normal check up next time. They couldn't get a couple heart pics at the a/s so it means we will get another ultrasound during the diabetes screening
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Work has been really stressful and tough lately. So much so that it's making me wonder why I even chose this profession. Having a cold and being tired all the time doesn't help so I'm hoping it's just a rough patch.
  • How far along are you?  21 weeks today

How are you doing? Pretty good! I finally feel like I have some energy back.  But my feet and legs get so swollen throughout the day since I'm constantly on my feet.  DH surprised me today with some knee-high compression socks so I'm stoked to try those out!
I said this in the FTM thread buuuuut, we had the anatomy scan last week!  It was so wonderful to see the baby and all the bones.  Our ultrasound tech was amazing because she pointed everything out and gave descriptions of every different angle.  We didn't want to find out the gender and she did an awesome job of keeping that a secret!  DH tried so hard to watch as she was checking that part but he was like "I have no idea what I'm looking at" haha.  Baby was stubborn in the beginning and made some pictures impossible so I had to get up and wiggle around and then she had to basically press on my belly and rotate the baby to get the rest of the pics.  I told my mom how the baby was being stubborn and she said "the baby is just like her mom!" haha I can't disagree with that.

When is your next appointment? Not until April 27th.  I agree with @littlebug2010 that I wish I could get the a-ok from the doctor more often.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My sister sent out the evites for the baby shower the last Friday of May since not all my friends live nearby she wanted people to have extra warning, and people have already started sending us stuff!  I'm super glad that we have the nursery fully cleared out so we can store stuff in there!

@a2003tiger we just started getting sun up here in the PNW after soooo much rain!  I'll try sending some your way!
  • How far along are you?

    How are you doing?
I'm feeling pretty good minus the insomnia and constipation.

    When is your next appointment?
I have my anatomy scan this morning.  I'm really nervous, but hoping the appointment goes well.  DH has to drop off the kids and has taken off early the last 2 days to take the kids to doctors' appointments so he won't be able to attend.  I'm okay going by myself as long as everything looks good.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
DS1 had his yearly follow up appointment with a specialist and he has to have surgery again.  It's a relatively quick procedure and he should be able to resume all normal activities within several days, but I hate that he has to undergo surgery again and is part of the 1% of patients who need a second surgery.

GTKY: I'm running out of questions/ideas...give me some GTKY questions and I'll ask one next week!
I can't remember everything that has been asked.  Did we talk about a travel bucket list?

  • @MetsGirl18 sorry that your DH can't attend the anatomy scan! Hopefully the tech takes a bunch of wonderful pictures to share with him!
  • @szwill86 That's soooo cool! I swore I saw it too the other day. I laid motionless staring at it for a few more minutes willing it to happen again, but nothing.

@littlebug2010 Wow! I'm glad you took care of the day care already. My good friend is due 9/1 and I told her she needs to get on it NOW. I used to work at a daycare right after college and there was HUGE waiting lists for infants. Good for you!

@mokay19 I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing swelling. I travel from 3 different schools throughout the week to see all my kiddos and 1 of my schools is so old it doesn't have air conditioning. My poor feet when I leave are so puffy!! Fortunately it's finally starting to get warmer so I can wear sandals and hopefully some sleeveless shirts to stay cooler.

    How are you doing?
Insomnia is still hanging out but I've made friends with my body pillow and it's really helped out my back and hips when I'm sleeping. I've started feeling like laying on my right side makes my belly feel heavy, but if I'm on my left I don't feel that. Is that weird?

    When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow morning, regular prenatal. He'll over over my AS and I imagine he'll start talking about glucose test.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Sent out all my baby shower invites! We're doing it early May since I'm moving down south with DH in June. Now I'm obsessing over everything on my registry like do I really need that? Do I want that? Is that the best option?
  • @mokay19 Thanks!  Everything looked great today and I don't need to go back to MFM again.  I have a bunch of pictures to show DH and my boys.

  • @cmmiller531 Thanks! We had been calling one place for weeks and never got an answer, so I reached out to a couple other places near us, to see if they would get back to me.  I contacted 5 and only heard back from 2.  One place was a bright horizons, and as much as they are good, I am not a huge fan of them in general (plus they are partially a competitor for the company I work at).  The other place was amazing and DH and I left knowing this was where our son was going to be!  We were worried though, becuase so many places around here are crazy expensive and have year+ long waiting lists.

  • @MetsGirl18 I am so glad it went well!

@cmmiller531 Baby showers are so much fun! Where did you register? Some places have an easy return policy.
  • @Kudlica27 I did a babylist.com registry so I could add stuff from all over!
  • @cmmiller531 That's wise! well just know whatever is on your BRU registry you can return (even if you aren't 100% sure the person got it from there.) I looked over my list quite a few times before I felt like it was "finished." And when you get things, don't open them right away just incase you change your mind!
  • @Kudlica27 I won't get to open anything until we move anyway :( I know Target is good with returns and I added a bunch of little things from there. Buy Buy Baby is usually good too
  • @cmmiller531 Target is good if you have a receipt. If not they have a limit on how much you can return. BBB is good too! Ours just is far away, so it wasn't worth the drive to return one thing. (I just took those things to BRU.)
  • @Kudlica27 lol yeah I know they scan you license and have like a $75 limit! I'm hoping people attach gift receipts. Not to sound ungrateful by any means for any gifts! I guess I better make sure there's even a BBB where we are moving to! Ugh. I didn't even think of that. I know there is a BRU though.
  • @cmmiller531 It's not that bad unless you get a ton of something and realize you could use something else. I was gifted a lot of blankets, and realized I could never use them all. I returned the few I could for things no one seems to buy, like nursing supplies.
  • Hi Ladies,
I was JUST starting to really participate a few weeks ago...and then my dad had to have emergency brain surgery and we are now dealing with a stage iv melanoma prognosis. Not trying to throw my self a pity party but this sucks.

    How are you doing?

Ehhh. I mean physically okay except for already having brutal hemorrhoids.

    When is your next appointment?

Not until the end of the month. Had one last week with my favorite nurse and a cardio echo 2 weeks ago right in the middle of my dad's surgeries....stress level 1000 BUT everything looked good with babies heart :)

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

I thought my life was a bit overwhelming a month ago but at times right now I"m totally shutting down. BUT time to put on the big girl panties and deal.

  • @Kudlica27 every time I buy a cute little outfit or something myself I'm nervous and feel like I should return it because knowing some of my family members all they will buy is teeny tiny clothes instead of things like diapers or wipes. I hate saying that because it sounds awful but I know it's more fun to buy the cute stuff than the necessary.
  • @pinkyswife I'm very sorry about your dad - and the hemorrhoids. Sending positive thoughts on your way.

Getting over a cold, but other than that, I am feeling way better!  Our last appointment was the anatomy scan and everything was perfect.  I was seriously freaking out about that appointment, because that's when I found out about the issues my stillborn had.

    When is your next appointment?
Glucose test in two weeks.  Yuck!

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

  • @pinkyswife I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. That's a lot to deal with normally let alone when pregnant. I hope it all turns out ok!
  • @cmmiller531 They do buy a lot of clothes! especially small ones. Last time people bought clothes in mostly 3 months. I was so thankful for the few that bought larger sizes. My LO was born 9lbs14oz and 22 3/4inches. He went straight to 3 months and was in 6 months in no time. Thankfully I had hand me downs. I tried to focus on buying clothes I LOVED and not just stuff I liked. I have yet to buy PJS. I have also bought the boys matching shirt and sweaters (I have a 4yr old stepson.)
  • @Kudlica27 haha yes to only stuff I love! I bought her a little army green jacket in 6-9 months with a bright orange onesie and little jeggings because I couldn't walk away from it lol I've gotten her some socks, a sleeper, and a few onesies. Also two crib sheets I loved and was afraid wouldn't be available anymore when the shower came around.
  • Did you guys find that LO was in 0-3 until around 3 months? I'm already getting so many 0-3 clothes from family members.. I'm scared she'll grow out of them in a month and I won't have anything! I'm going to ask my mom to tell ppl 3-6, 6-9 months plus for the shower.

  • @pinkyswife, so sorry for all that you're going through.

@secicc12, welcome! It varies so much. Mine we're in 0-3 until at least 2 months or so. But they can't outgrow them very quickly at that age.

  • @secicc12 I had a friend tell me that even different stores her son would grow out of first whether or not they were the same "size"
  • @secicc12 It's so hard to predict how your child will grow.  Both of my boys were on the shorter side and could wear newborn clothes for 5-6 weeks even though they were well above the weight limit.  They wore 0-3 beyond 3 months.  Also, each brand fits differently.  Some are longer and looser fitting while other brands that are cut smaller are the first clothes my kids always outgrew before moving to the next size.
