More of a vent than anything but ... my MBF is that I'm sick of not being able to sleep because of this hip pain. It's driving me nuts. I'm officially taking up 3/4 of the bed with pillows but I toss and turn all night long and can't remember the last time I had a good sleep. I am trying to get the nursery done asap so I can get all the stuff to go in there, out of the other room/off the bed so I can go sleep alone. For some reason I feel like having an entire bed to myself might help. That bed is also softer than ours so it might help. Who knows. I have my first prenatal massage on Wednesday and the appointment is at a chiropractic center so I'm eager for that so I can finally book a chiro appt and get this crap figured out. Thank God I have a desk job or else I'm not sure I'd be able to work anymore. Walking is painful most days. *sigh*
ETA: Probably belongs on some symptom thread but whatever.
Mbf: my MIL keeps asking if the baby is a boy or a girl. She asks me seperately on the phone and then asks DH seperate on a seperate phone call. she's not the most trust worthy person and for the sake of decency if someone is politely saying il tell you later you need to get the picture. We decided we would tell her when we met yesterday if she asked again, however she didn't. If she asks on another phone call again I'm honestly not picking up her calls again. I don't think it should be something I share over a phone call anyway. she also keeps asking which crib I like and demands the price for it, like dude, just give whatever present u have in mind for us, I'm not going to quote in dollars how much the crib I like costs. The whole point is for you to give me and your son a present that you think is fine why ask for the price? It's getting on my nerves.
@stokesm21 hopefully the chiro helps. I started seeing a chiro and getting prenatal massages in the middle of the first trimester for sciatica and it made a huge difference. Also, if you have a desk job investing in a good back support pillow may be worth your while too.
I'm just tired and in a bad mood today. DH and I were woken up at 4am by our alarm going off telling us to that a tornado was in the area. I had NO clue our alarm system tracked such things, and initially thought our house was being broken into. Thankfully no storms made landfall in our area, but it was scary nonetheless. It also made me realize that we need to have a severe weather plan in place so we aren't running around like chickens with our heads cut off if a storm is actually approaching.
I'm on "vacation" this week (home leave to visit family), but my colleagues didn't finish their end of things last week, so I have to monitor email and do some work this week. Argh!!
@oheliza44 did ya'll have any damage? My grandparents had a tree fall, thankfully no where near the house. Not sure about DH's family but no one else in my family had any damage.
@MrsLa3 thankfully no- as far as I know the only touchdown they had was over a body of water so luckily no one was in danger. I'm glad your grandparents are ok, despite the tree falling. Bad weather is scary stuff!
MBF: being woken up by my husband at 4:15am (when he leaves for work) because he couldn't find his work badge and keys (love the toddler hiding stage) we looked for 35 mins then found them in his bathtub *facepalm* then obviously I couldn't go back to sleep. Then my toddler who begged for easy Mac for lunch- I made it and he screamed that he didn't want Mac and cheese and threw the plate on the floor which made a HUGE mess. Then said he wanted hotdogs and is now screaming because I won't let him get up from the table until he eats it.
I'm pretty sure our bathroom renovation is cursed. It could be so much worse (and I'm thankful it hasn't been worse) BUT so far we've had to deal with a leaky roof (temporarily fixed until we can redo the whole thing this year), finding knob and tube wiring when we were told by previous owners at time of sale that it was all replaced, having to re-wire all said knob and tube wiring (which has included ripping up carpet and sub-floor throughout second floor) and delays due to sicknesses. NOW DH was tiling the bathtub area and discovered we were about half a box short of subway tiles. We had extra bought, but we changed the style of the decorative trim which resulted in less trim and more subways tiles being needed.
I went to Home Depot yesterday to buy another box and THE DAMN SUBWAY TILES ARE DISCONTINUED. I'm on a hunt like a mad woman trying to see if any store has one freaking box of these tiles. And it's apparently an exclusive product to Home Depot from the tile company so I can't even get another company to order it for me.

@hyperangel_8509 If only it wouldn't be so expensive to ship tiles! My IL's left about 8 boxes of subway tile at our house from their build. I don't think you should have a hard time, subway tile is subway tile, no? Do you have a link to your product? Knob and tube wiring is so old and so not up to code! (My Dad is an electrician) I'm sorry that happened to you but kudos to you for getting it replaced. That's definitely always a problem with any sort of renovation, you never know what you are going to find behind the walls or under the floors. You take a huge chance and have to have a contingency budget in place. Rarely do reno's ever go smoothly unfortunately. Hoping things look up for you guys from here on out!
@nktrodden826 what a morning. He is a cutie though! You had me laughing when you said he peeks through his fingers to see if you are looking. Kids are so perceptive.
@stokesm21 Apparently the tile is a special kind of "white". I didn't even notice it until now that we are 1/2 a box short.....it's not "bright white", it's "biscuit" white...which looks effing white to me. And it was a special order for Home Depot stores. The only other option we have is to bring a tile we have at home to another store like Lowe's or a specialty tile store and see if we can match the whites. FUN!
As for the wiring - it was definitely a shock for us. Our house is old (built in 1898), but it was gutted and renovated about 15 years ago. The homeowners that did this said they completely updated wiring, plumbing, etc. When we looked at the house, everything going into the electrical panel looked legit. Then DH guts the upstairs bathroom and finds knob and tube hiding in the wall and extends to the hallway lighting on the first floor and outdoor lighting on our porch. And found junction boxes. It didn't look like it had caused any issue YET, but if somehow it had caused an electrical fire, we would have been screwed with our insurance company because our house is insured with updated electrical wiring (no mention of knob and tube). We had to re-wire or we would have lost our insurance.

New to this thread, but I need to bitch: My sister and friend are throwing a big baby shower and it is coed (more like a big party). They were going to rent this large bed and breakfast with a huge outdoor patio space that would be a great spot. The house also has 4 bedrooms, so my sister thought that my parents, my brother, the other host, and her could all stay there since my husband and are in the process of moving (they are all from out of town). My sister is paying around $600 for the space, which is why my side would stay there. My husband called me today at work and told me his parents and grandma are going to plan to stay there as well. I kind of pitched a royal pregnancy fit and said I hadn't planned on that, and he said it isn't fair if my parents stay at the bed and breakfast and his don't...my bitch fest 1. My sister paid for the space 2. That takes up two bedrooms causing someone in my fam or the host to have to get a different hotel. I just don't understand why his parents can't get a hotel...Am I being unreasonable??? I mean, they don't have to leave until everyone is ready for bed!
@amack2388 I reject when anyone tries to change my plans so I'd be pretty pissed that someone even brought it up never mind that they think it's actually going to happen!! I expect adults to act like adults and plan accordingly... so I don't think you're being unreasonable. If you do let it all happen I would absolutely be sending them part of the bill
@amack2388 Um, not unreasonable at ALL. Your sister is paying and yet they want to stay there? Like, for free on your sisters dime? No. Just no. If I were DH I would have told them that the place is already booked and they need to find somewhere else. I'd be pissed at him for sure. What's not fair is that his family is effing everything up.
@amack2388 - oh heck no you're not being unreasonable. I would be ticked! Where did they even get it into their heads that they could stay there???
ETA: FOR FREE especially!!! And they and your husband think it's okay to inconvenience the family and the host!
Would your husband tell them there's not space? Or that they need to call to make their own reservations and then they can figure out on their own that there's no space?
@BusyZee- my MIL is the same way. She says she wants to get something for us and then asks repeatedly what it costs. It's maddening! She then tells us to order, send the receipt and she'll pay us back. Really, what's the point?!?! She does this for every bday and holiday
@amack2388 you have every right to say no when it's your sisters money renting it out! You should just tell them that it's her that is paying for it and all rooms are booked already.
my MBF is my work. I work at a nice hotel in the banquet department and the only thing I have refused to do by myself since becoming pregnant is lifting our heavy tables by myself. They can range from 15-30 lbs each depending on the size and material and I already had difficulties moving them before getting pregnant. Last week I was the only one there and one client needed at least 4 added to their room and I asked the front desk if anyone in the office could help me move them because I couldn't do it by myself because I am not about to pull a muscle or strain myself and risk my little boy just because of a table. Well my GM storms out of the office saying that I need a doctors note saying this so "this stuff doesn't happen again". When I called my doctors office about getting one and they don't like to because 90% of the time they do, the women get fired because they become a liability. I know some women can lift more during pregnancy and everyone is different but I struggle with them and just need help sometimes.

This enraged me. If you are in the US you can't be fired due to your pregnancy or limitations caused by pregnancy. Any doctor that tells you that type of stupid advice does not know what they are talking about. If your manager gives you any hassle report his ass to HR.

Over the weekend I found these sports bra things that don't really have elastic band, so I was PSYCHED that I could wear a bra again and get some boob pads for these ridiculously leaky boobs!! Of course I bought 4. By 11am today I was over it and ready to rip it off at my desk
