Any appointments this week? I'm at my first NST now!
Symptoms? Same ole shit. Heartburn, hips are sore.
Cravings? This week it's been soda.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Hip pain wakes me several times a night!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? DH will be home for a longer break this time so I'm looking forward to both of us getting some good bonding time with both kids, and some good time as a family of 4. He was only home for a week when DD was born, and he missed her birth.
Symptoms? Hip pains hasn't been as awful this week probably because DD has been sick so most of my time has been spent hanging out in the couch. It seems to flair up more when we are out and about and having to sit on the floor for storytime. However I've started needing to pee more throughout the night instead of just once. Thats always fun!
Cravings? None really. More thirsty at the moment.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I just want DD to feel better! She has been fighting naps on top of being sick which is incredibly frustrating. I had a little meltdown a couple days ago because I was just drained. So DH came home earlier yesterday and basically said go do what you want or need to do whether its a nap ir downtime etc. Bless that man, I spent an hour out of the house doing errands and I felt so much better mentally just from that.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue. I'm starting to kind of freak out about having a little guy after being used to a girl. Some of the moms from my previous BMB have been sharing stories about how their sons are dealing with erections and I'm over here like what? not a big deal but it was just new to me!
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? Baby related: all of us getting to meet him, all the nb snuggles. Nonbaby related: sleeping on my back again and wine
Any appointments this week? Heading home from the hospital today on bedrest until followup appt next week
Symptoms? Anxiety about impending csection, back and shoulders sore from being in a hosp bed for 4 days, endless thirst
Cravings? Cold water constantly
Rants/Raves/Questions? I finally get to go home today!!!! 2-4 weeks until we meet LO! We haven't done any real prep and need to get baby's bed and clothing ready (we own everything just need to get it out of storage, washed and organized). I thought we had more time, but nope!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? All the newborn cuddles and introducing LO to DD. Also wine.. lots of wine..
Any appointments this week? A regular check up tomorrow and then hospital visit with H next week. I put together my birth plan and will show it to my doctor tomorrow. Since I haven't been to the hospital visit yet I don't know what they have as far as policies on fetal monitoring, IVs, etc. Guess I'll find out soon!
Symptoms? I need to find a different way to put on my socks and shoes, bending over isn't happening any more. I think my baby turned head down because last week I felt a lot of big movements and hiccups at the top of my stomach. Now I'm feeling hiccups more down below.
Cravings? Root beer, carmel, and carrots and dip.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Question: I'm going to ask my doctor about this tomorrow, but I'm curious if/what anyone else has been told about traveling away from home (and your hospital) closer to your due date? I got invited to a baby shower 6 hours away from where I live when I'll be 35 weeks. H does not feel comfortable with me going and I understand why. I also got invited to a bridal shower 2 hours away when I'll be 38 weeks. I'd drive with someone to both of the showers if I did go, but I probably won't go to either. It sucks because I'm close with both of the ladies whoes showers I got invited to and I feel bad saying no to going.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Team green!
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? I can't wait for baby snuggles and getting to know the little human who's been growing inside me for 9 months! Since the weather should be warmer after baby arrives I'm looking forward to being outside more and baby and I getting use out of the stroller and baby wrap I'm getting. Non-baby related, I can't wait to taste the different summer beers that will be coming out.
Any appointments this week? I have one later today (I might even update my post accordingly, if there is anything notable).
Symptoms? I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night, mostly due to heartburn. Nothing that notable now, though. I'm doing better than I thought I would at this point in the pregnancy.
Cravings? If I'm honest, none. But if I'm bad, I want sweets.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm very close to finalizing my pump choice and order. I hope it goes through ok. I am switching from what I had before so my parts won't be compatible but that's ok. I hope I like it even more than the freestyle, the pump I used for my first two kids (battery was obviously dying at the end, hence why I'm going to get a new one.)
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green, and I'm weirdly agonizing over trying to guess the sex of the baby. I was sure it was a girl for the first half of the pregnancy and now it seems like a boy. I guess we'll find out soon enough!
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? LEAVE, both for me and my husband. He is taking the longest leave ever, full FMLA. I am going to be done with my semester and able to be more flexible with work over the summer. I also look forward to getting back into swimming.
Symptoms? Heartburn, hip pain mostly at night or when walking up stairs
Cravings? Fountain Soda and Potato Salad
Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a little baby shower at work yesterday, it was so nice and we got some really cute things!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? Baby related - newborn snuggles and DS meeting his baby brother. Non baby related summertime margaritas.
@pshaortao I'm sorry your DD still isn't feeling well, what a bummer.
@chailife34 I'm glad you got to go home! Also, congrats on having a date set in 3 weeks! You've got this
@luckywife10 From what other ladies here have said, some of their doctors don't recommend traveling after a certain point (usually 36 weeks, I think)? Also, it sounds like some insurance won't cover you if you're traveling too far from your designated area and go into labor. So, just something to look into if you do decide to travel. Other than that, people have suggested making sure to stop every couple hours and walk around to minimize the chance of clots.
@RedInLove and @kat81 Glad to hear your Hs are able to take longer leaves this time! That'll be nice.
How far along are you? 32 weeks
How big is baby? Unspecified type of Squash
Any appointments this week? Had a normal check-up today. Everything seems good, baby is measuring spot on.
Symptoms? Back pain. It seems to help if I have a good balance of activity vs sitting/couch time. Too much of either and it makes me tense up more. I seem to be pretty sensitive to foods right now. The other night, whatever I ate for dinner tried to take it's revenge on my system. I've had that happen a handful of times recently, and I can't pinpoint any one food or place, so I think it's just random foods not sitting well. Also, more night peeing, like others have mentioned. I had a blissful few months in the second tri where I could make it through the night, but that's officially over.
Cravings? Random things, really. Sweets still.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My H made a comment after one night where he had heartburn and had to get up to go take meds, and how he was so uncomfortable and sleepy. I told him it sounded like he was pregnant. I think he picked up on my hint that telling a pregnant woman about your one night of bad sleep doesn't mean a whole lot. Sorry H, no sympathy right now.

GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? Baby-related: Just getting to meet my new LO! This is our first, so I'm still so excited. I asked my doctor if it was ok to travel 2 hrs away at 34 weeks and she told me as long as I wasn't having any signs of early labor it would be ok. I don't think I'd risk 6 hours away or 2 hours at 38 weeks though. You shouldn't feel bad at all for putting you and your baby first even thought it sucks not getting to go.

...
I'd ask your doctor. They both seem like borderline cases. 6 hours seems like a long way to go but that's only a week beyond where I am now and I feel like I could totally make a trip like that, or fly somewhere no problem right now. I think I did in fact fly somewhere around 34-36 weeks along with my first. So I bet you can do that one...6 hrs in the car just seems pretty unpleasant is all.
As for 38 weeks along that is getting trickier. I'd definitely say yes if it was 1 hour away or one week earlier, haha. I'd just ask the doctor.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Was unexpectedly woken up before my alarm this morning to the news that we had no work today due to inclement weather! Storm is set to hit later, hoping it doesn't actually do much damage, it's been a really relaxing day

GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? Not working, wine, sleeping on my tummy, and especially meeting her!!
@luckywife10 - I know that it varies depending on whether or not you have any extenuating complications with your pregnancy. For me, we had considered traveling by car about 5 hours while I was 33 weeks but decided to forgo the trip for now and wait until the summer. I'm just not physically comfortable sitting for long periods of time right now. I am sure your friends would be completely understanding if you choose not to go. I'd just send a gift and a nice hand written note if you decide to skip it and I'm sure they will 100% understand!

How big is baby? my weekly email says cantaloupe; haven't seen my ticker yet.
Any appointments this week? I just had one today. All is well! My next one will be at 36 weeks and they already scheduled my weekly appointments all the way until week 39!

GTKY: What are you looking forward to most after baby gets here (both baby and non-baby related)? Baby-related: finally getting to hold this baby in my arms and watching my oldest daughter get to meet the sibling that she's so excited for. I've waited for this chance for several years now and I'm just looking forward to closing this chapter and moving forward. Being pregnant after struggling with secondary infertility for a few years has been an interesting journey. I've had trouble allowing myself to get truly excited this time for fear of what-ifs.

Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? had my gall bladder removed yesterday. I was expecting it to go a lot smoother but I'm home now and starting to feel better.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning feeding/weight gain? Excited to say that DD is up to 4lbs 4oz and she is officially starting a modified sliding scale for feeding. She nursed for a solid 15 minutes this afternoon. So she was able to lower the amount of her tubal feeding.
Questions, concerns, updates, etc. concerning sleeping or other symptoms for both baby & mom? None
Rants/raves/questions?
GTYK: What is the best thing about having your baby here (both baby and non-baby related)? Definitely the snuggles and seeing so much development. Several nurses have commented on how well she is doing nursing. I'm just so proud of how far she's come along.
@pshaortao oh yeah, baby erections are a thing, it's weird but you get used to it, just try not to get peed on. I find boys easier in the day to day cleaning etc anyway (just wipe what you can see, nothing else to worry about like front to back etc) I'm actually starting to feel relived that I don't have to deal with girl diaper changes

Also my MIL bough DS a stupid puppy toy that poops when you feed it, I don't get why but whatever... (you feed it, it poops out the food and you feed the same pieces to it again) he just pooped in the yard (like a puppy he tells me) then proceeded to stick it on the end of a piece of chalk and bring it inside asking if he could eat it... uhhh that toy is going t be hidden from now on and I am going to yell at MIL for even thinking it was a good idea -.-

@MiaQuiche84 I bought a Solly for DD and loved it! It will be what I use first for DS when he's too small for and it's too hot for a woven or the Tula. DD at 2m and 5m, she loved the Solly!
Thank you for the input on traveling! At my appointment this morning, my doctor said he would not advise traveling in the last month of my pregnancy. So I won't be going to either showers. But, I know both ladies will understand so that makes me feel better.
