I'm loving all your nursery ideas!! In our old house, DD's nursery had light pink on 2 walls and light purple/gray on 2 walls. Decor was simple with an Owl theme - a banner spelling her name above the crib and a giant tree removable sticker with owls and birds on it. I loved it!
We moved in December. We have 3 bedrooms, all with walk in closets. DD has her own room and the other room is our guest room/office and is huge. In order to continue having a guest room, this LO will live in our giant master closet. When I say giant, I mean it - DH and I slept on a queen size air mattress in there when we were painting before moving in, and could've fit another queen and twin air mattress at the same time. Our dresser will go in our bedroom and my clothes will move to the opposite side with DH's. There's a perfect little nook for the crib and space for the changing table adjacent to it. Our bathroom has a ridiculous amount of unused space so the glider and ottoman from DD's room will go there, right outside the closet door, under the window. Needless to say, there won't be a lot of decorating besides a few baby decor items or a removable sticker that can be easily be moved. It's amazing to feel no stress about a nursery this time!
This is our plan for a year. If LO is a girl, DD and she will move into the big guest room together. And the guest room will move to DD's current room. If LO is a boy, they may still share a room, but we will see!
So I just came across this, not sure if I would do it but I love the idea of the bed! I could see it being impractical at times but thought I'd share. I like how they could grow into it and as a kid it would make a totally awesome fort.
Really cute, but definitely not safe for an infant. Too many pillows. Giant SIDS risk. It's an awesome toddler bed though!
@beezeemarie i still need to get decor items obviously but i am undecided on what i want to do. i keep falling in love with nautical things but that wasn't my vision haha. so i am just going to buy things i love and see where we end up. so prob a nautical whimsical vintage sports hodgepodge.
joforyoga lurking...your kiddos baby room is awesome!!!!!!

Ok, I'm reviving this thread! DH finally finished painting the nursery this weekend. As you may remember, he did the first coat almost 2 months ago when he was on spring break. He left the trim tape up he entire time. When he went to take it off, it stripped off some of the paint on the trim (look at the window). So now he has to paint the trim - karma for his procrastination.
Anyways, here's how the paint color turned out. I love it (we have the same in our room and DD's room). I ordered crib sheets and swaddles so hopefully I'll have more updates soon. (Sorry for the mess! This has been a storage room since we moved).
October 2017 June Siggy Challenge -- "You Had One Job!"
@beezeemarie My DH learned the hard way that he can't leave painters tape up forever when he painted out front door and sidelights a few weeks ago...I always take it off when the paint is still wet if I can.
I am starting to get more excited and have more of a vision for our nursery now! Once school is out in 2 weeks, my parents will help us move all the furniture out of there that needs to go elsewhere in the house. We have gray furniture, and will do accent colors of Navy Blue and Red. I'm starting to have a picture in my head of what i want it to look like and I'm getting much more excited!
Oh I am so excited for this thread because I fell into nesting mode hard this last week!
This is the wallpaper we will be using on one of the walls and the jumping off point for the whole room. It was $$$ so going to have to knuckle down and craigslist/thrift store most everything else. Luckily that's one of my favorite things!
I finally decided on our nursery theme! I spent so much time going back and forth on if I wanted to do something more modern/white with a splash of color or if I wanted to go all out baby and colorful with it. I finally decided to go with a safari theme so it will be green/taupes with adorable baby safari animals.
Going to pick up a crib probably weekend after next to get it setup! Yay!
I'm jealous of all you with legit nurseries! Our master bedroom is on a separate floor from the other bedrooms so we're keeping the crib in our room until we can't deal with it anymore. Planning on a year but we'll see how it goes. We have a huge walk-in closet so we might stick it in there before moving her into a real bedroom. But I we'll have to start calling it something else because I don't want to say my baby's room is in the closet
@beezeemarie llove how simple but nnnneat your nursery looks (im a fan of all things simple (=classy)) @jessdg is it just me or when you remove tape after paint has dried, it also removes paint with it? I thought it was because i had bought cheap paint/tape Trying to not do the same mistake for the nursery
Today was my A/S and tomorrow I followup with my doc to go over the report. If everything is good, it's all systems go on the nursery this weekend. I've already figured out the color (yellow) and painted a few paint color samples last weekend. We're team pink but going gender neutral.
Here's a glimpse of my vision board! Can't wait to move to the new place and get started. I'm thinking one wall of star wallpaper and light yellow on the other three walls.

I love that mobile! It is both cute and something a baby would want to look at (so many I have come across are one or the other).
Hi! This might belong in a different thread, but I have a question about nursery furniture. I was looking up different things tonight online and saw a lot of people buy a dresser and put a changing pad on top instead of buying a changing table. Thoughts on this? I keep getting overwhelmed by all the different ideas when it comes to furniture and what you actually need. Thanks for the help!

We did this in my DS room. His nursery was small, and I wanted to minimize the amount of furniture in there. I put the changing pad on top of the dresser, with a basket of diapers, wipes, and cream next to it. It worked out perfectly because I only used the changing pad for a few months. Once he started getting too big, I just started changing him on the floor. I personally don't think a whole changing table is really necessary.

This is exactly what we did and it worked out great. We put some of that mesh sticky stuff under the pad (like you put under rugs to keep from sliding) and once she was past that stage, we could just remove the pad and keep using it as a dresser. Changing tables are definitely not a requirement!

That is what I did. I got a little mobile from Ikea to go above it - a steal at 7 bucks!
Getting close to being done! I am making this to go over the crib:
I'm paranoid about putting anything over the crib with this house's 100+ year old walls. I do want something though, so in the slim chance this actually falls, she will just be showered with stuffed animals.
Dresser ($250): https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00318602/ They also sell it in dark brown. It came with dark knob pulls, so I bought brushed nickel ones from Home Depot to lighten it up. I think colored ones (plenty of options on Etsy and Amazon) would have been cute too and it gives it a more custom look.
I used this tutorial to make the bench seat that I screwed into the top of the storage bench (I'm not all that crafty and was able to do it!): No Sew Window Bench. Total cost of additional materials was about $50.
Make sure you sign up for Ikea Family to get discounts (it's free). They put different furniture on discounts every 3 weeks. I got 20% off the dresser when I bought it. https://info.ikea-usa.com/family/

This is the wallpaper we will be using on one of the walls and the jumping off point for the whole room. It was $$$ so going to have to knuckle down and craigslist/thrift store most everything else. Luckily that's one of my favorite things!
Going to pick up a crib probably weekend after next to get it setup! Yay!
@jessdg is it just me or when you remove tape after paint has dried, it also removes paint with it? I thought it was because i had bought cheap paint/tape
Trying to not do the same mistake for the nursery
You should remove the tape tape when the paint is still wet, because if it's dry it can pull up some of the paint with it!
BFP#3: 2/9/13 EDD 10/18/17. Team Green for Round 2!
Storage bench ($45): https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/00275848/. I got the baskets from Ikea too.
I used this tutorial to make the bench seat that I screwed into the top of the storage bench (I'm not all that crafty and was able to do it!): No Sew Window Bench. Total cost of additional materials was about $50.
Crib ($100): https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80248525/
Make sure you sign up for Ikea Family to get discounts (it's free). They put different furniture on discounts every 3 weeks. I got 20% off the dresser when I bought it. https://info.ikea-usa.com/family/
