Genital Herpes Outbreak Second Trimester

Hi Ladies,

I was diagnosed with genital herpes a few years back. I just noticed a mild active outbreak today (my immune system is low as I have a cold), and am wondering if anyone else had an active outbreak during their pregnancy? Did your doctor advise you to take Valtrex?? My doctor's office is closed until Monday, so I'm scouring the internet trying to figure out what to do in the meantime! I'm 26 weeks, fyi.

Hi.  I think it's probably best for you to call the office and ask for the on-call doctor next time this happens on a weekend. Your doctor is always a better source of information, especially concerning medications in pregnancy.
