Hey guys,
I just got to 7 weeks and im constantly tired, hungry and nauseous. Is this normal? It's to the point where I have to nap at work. Didn't even make it today. Thinking abouy going to my OB tomorrow for a little time off. Was hoping to make it through my first trimester but hey.
Re: Is it just me?
First of all if you lurked and read other posts your questions would have been answered already.
Second of all - Yes this is normal - especially in the 1st Trimester. If you're napping at work, are you sure you're getting enough sleep at night? I had to give myself an extra 3-4 hours a night during my first trimester.
Third - You want your OB to give you a "get off work" slip because of being pregnant in the 1st trimester? Good luck with that. It's only going to get harder as the pregnancy continues and your symptoms change, etc.

Secondly, I appreciate your advice about extra sleep. Good advice and I have been doing that yet it doesn't seem enough.
Thirdly, it is my last resort as this is my first pregnancy so with all the reading in the world it is still very new.
If you search the boards there are probably lots of threads with coping strategies so you won't need to miss work.

For me, peppermint (decaf) tea helps with both feeling like I'm going to fall asleep at work and with nausea to some extent, as to peppermint candies (sugar free). Lemon ginger tea is good for me too, and I find the more hydrated I am, the less exhausted I feel (plus it'll keep you getting up to pee lol). I work an office job, so I find getting up and moving around 2pm ish helps a lot; hard to fall asleep when you're walking. And I've always been a bit of a gym rat, but I've noticed in general the days after I work out, I'm less fatigued than the days after rest days. Even a 6am yoga class before work, counter-intuitive as it seems, makes me feel like I have more energy throughout the day (though obviously if you don't already exercise you need to talk to your doctor about it).
And there's no shame in going to bed at 8pm!
