Re: PGAL Check-In 3/15
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Doing pretty well with both. I had a good US on Monday to help put my mind at ease, and I have a doppler arriving tomorrow so I think that will help between now and my next appointment. I had some nausea yesterday but overall, feeling pretty good.
3) When is your next appointment? Not until April 10 unless I want genetic screenings done. I'm still trying to decide on this since my insurance does not cover any testing (darn Catholic church...).
4) Rants/Raves/Questions I had all my first trimester blood work/urinalysis done on Monday as well and apparently I am not immune to rubella. Anyone experience this? I know I'll get the MMR booster after delivery and essentially just have to avoid getting rubella between now and delivery, but it's still worrisome. And ergh to the doctors who never checked this while TTC (side eye to my RE right now).
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? Gosh it's been so long since I read a book for fun. I really liked Gone Girl (haha, which was like 4 years ago when I read it). I need to spend less time googling pregnancy issues and more time reading books.

2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically I am still nauseous and vomiting. But I'm taking Diclectin now and that's helping. But it's making me super tired! Emotionally I'm doing a lot better. We had a scan at 10w3d and my OB said our chance of miscarriage is now less than 3%. I know there's still a chance, but I'm feeling so much more positive now. And we saw baby kicking its legs and waving its arms. And that was amazing!
3) When is your next appointment? On Tuesday we have our official 12 week appointment. Then they'll be monthly after that.
4) I had a long rant. And then stupid bump app deleted it. And I can't get it back. So my new rant is that I hate the bump app!!!!
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? I really enjoyed reading Room. Totally recommend it. Although it's probably a bit emotional to read while pregnant...so maybe don't HAHA!
@mommac2017 Good luck on Tuesday!!!
AFM
1) How far along are you? 9w4d
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? I felt so good for most of the day yesterday and then it all came back full-force yesterday night and I feel like crap again today. I've discovered fruit snacks help with nausea, so that's a nice trick to have in my back pocket. Emotionally, I'm ok. Wish it felt more real.
3) When is your next appointment? Tuesday, just a short one with a midwife.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions Time is passing SO slowly ... I wish it would speed up a little bit so I could get out of the first trimester and maybe calm down a bit and feel like this is actually happening. Then it can go back to being slow
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? I just finished Only Ever Yours and wow that's a book that'll haunt me for awhile. I wouldn't call it a "truly great" book, but it is something special and it'll stick with me. It's about a world where men are born as usual but women are designed and hatched in laboratories and brought up with the sole purpose of being chosen by and pleasing the men. Kind of Handmaid's Tale meets Stepford Wives meets Mean Girls. Highly recommend!
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? I have had a very productive week and my nausea and exhaustion are lifting for now! Hooray!
3) When is your next appointment? 3 weeks
4) Rants/Raves/Questions I have brought this up in other threads, but DH and I are not planning on "announcing" this pregnancy. Not on social media or otherwise. If people notice and ask (which has already happened twice so far), then I am happy to share but otherwise, this is a thing just for us and our little family. I didn't intend this as a rule - maybe you will catch DH or I on a day where we just want to share, but so far the urge is not there.
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? I am reading through Alexie Sherman's Little Indian right now, and it is one that I am excited to sit down and read.
Preemie ID DDs; then DS; then natural M/C; now due 10/17
High risk for pre-term: weekly Makena injections
1) How far along are you? 7+6
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically fine. Emotionally, I still feel a disconnect that anything is actually happening since I haven't seen any proof yet beyond PTs.
3) When is your next appointment? First appt is next Tuesday
4) Rants/Raves/Questions +1 to time going SO SLOWLY. Work is pretty slow so I have way too much time to dwell on my anticipation for the first ultrasound next week. My half marathon is on Sunday so at least I have that to look forward to/think about, but I could use more distractions.
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? I'm so bad at reading books these days. I just started Swing Time by Zadie Smith. Really liked her earlier books so hoping this one will be good.
@mommac2017 *sleepy Diclectin high five* I'm on Diclectin and Metonia, so my brain is basically mush.
@migdala I love The Handmaid's Tale and am low key looking for Margaret Atwood every time I go anywhere in Toronto I think she might haunt. I hope the realness starts to settle in soon.
@aprilsarahjune Hooray for energy!
@riverraine I have a book of essays by Zadie Smith that I keep meaning to get to and I loved White Teeth!
On my end:
1. 9 +6. So excited to get to ten.
2. Physically, I'm having some better moments, but the bad ones are worse than ever. Exhaustion, nausea/vomiting, a bit of dizziness here and there. Emotionally, I'm having a hard week but really keeping my haad above water with the help of my sweet husband. Got some bad news regarding a dear friend and her extremely abusive family, but there's nothing else I can do to help, so I'm trying to take care of myself which is never ever my first instinct. We're both starting to get really excited about this baby and it feels great to be vulnerable again after a year from hell.
3. I had acupuncture today and only have two more sessions left. My acupuncturist has been a lifesaver and done so much for me in the short time I've been seeing him. It's probably the best thing I have ever done for myself. NT scan is the Friday after this one!!!
rant: I got up to pee TWELVE freaking times last night
rave: I think I'm feeling well enough to go see a panel discussion with the original stars of Degrassi this weekend, so Joey Jeremiah, here I come! DH really wants to go (The 80s series was something we watched together when we first met) and I'm feeling relieved that I might feel up to getting out of the house.
questions: not today
5. The last truly great book was Simran Sethi's Bread Wine Chocolate: The Slow Loss of the Foods We Love. I went in thinking I'd learn a bit of biodiversity and some of the fermented foods humans love most, as it also included coffee and beer, but it was extremely emotional and poignant, heartbreakingly personal and super duper informative. I cried the whole way through the bread section. I think about it every day and I read it last June. Honestly changed my life and it had been ages since a book did that.

Ambrose born on his due date!
1) How far along are you? 9 weeks
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? I'm feeling pretty good emotionally. Still sick and exhausted physically. Just clinging to the heartbeat and healthy ultrasound we saw last Thursday.
3) When is your next appointment? march 24th
4) Rants/Raves/Questions just in line at the grocery store which is taking forever, feeling starving/like I could barf at any moment!! Also, anybody else got the toothbrush barfs?
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? redeeming love!!!!
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Better, I had a spotting scare yesterday but a friend sent me her doppler and it arrived yesterday afternoon. After a few tries, I was able to find baby's heartbeat. Physically, fuck this MS.
3) When is your next appointment? Monday! It will be my 10 week ultrasound and fetal DNA bloodwork.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions Nothing today, just hanging out trying not to vomit.
5) GTKY: ugh. I'm struggling to remember the last book I read that wasn't historical romance...

@mommac2017 wow almost 12 weeks that's awesome! So nice to hear that confirmation that you're heading into the safe zone. Glad the diclectin is helping even if it is making you sleepy.
@migdala my symptoms have been coming and going too and it's such an annoying head trip. One day I think they're disappearing. Two days later they're back worse than ever.
@aprilsarahjune I like your philosophy towards announcing/not announcing. I'm not really big on making a thing of it, maybe because I'm an 'older' new mom, but SO is all about making the big social announcement. He keeps bringing up cute or cheesy ideas for a picture to put out on Facebook and, despite feeling differently, I have to say I'm humoring him since his excitement is so adorable.
@riverraine totally feel ya on that disconnect and hoping the same, that it will change after my ultrasound. I still have myself prepared for the worst though. Best of luck in your half marathon!
@reneeannemm I'm so sorry that you got bad news about your friend, but I'm glad you're able to separate yourself from it too. And thrilled that you're finally able to get excited about your pregnancy. I know it's been such a hard road for you. Your hubbie sounds like the perfect rock for you and it's great that you're so on the same page.
@MamaStreeter I don't know what it is about the grocery store! I have to eat before I go now because I think it makes my little hunger pangs huge, which in turn makes me nauseas. Twice I was positive I wouldn't make out without vomiting in a grocery aisle and couldn't fathom what I would do if that happened. Luckily I made it both times, but eeep!
@Cythe very cool that your friend was able to loan you her doppler so quickly AND you were able to find that reassuring heartbeat. Hope your MS starts to subside a bit now that you've reached that 10 week milestone.
1) How far along are you?... 8w5d.
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally?... Physically I've been getting worried every couple of days because it seems like my symptoms are lessening, and then wham! They hit again hard and mean. Usually the first day they come back I can't get off the couch for the nausea and exhaustion. Emotionally I've been ok, albeit super anxious. SO is so sure that this bean is sticky that I'm really scared for his mental state if it turns out to not be. I can't tell for sure if his super optimism is show for my sake or if he's in denial of the possibilities.
3) When is your next appointment?... First ultrasound tomorrow! It was supposed to be Tuesday but it was rescheduled because of the stupid snow storm with no manners.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions... Rants: I work for a national, big money making, top ten to work for, shipping company. Not only does our insurance suck ass, but when they close in a snowstorm, which is almost never, I can't believe they make us pay for it. Had the choice of using a vacation day or making up the hours. Yep, working a couple 10 hr days this week... Rave: I finally made it through molasses time to my ultrasound!... Questions: meh, nothing today.
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read?... This is so sad but I can't even remember the last truly good book I've read. It's been a few years since I've read anything but the Outlander series, which is good, but nothing to write home about. A lot of you mentioned some that I might just use as suggestions though for the near future, so thank you!
@cooaladoll and the many, many appts we have beginning next week - FX for great updates.
If you're new, introduce yourself and tell us your story.
Hi, everyone. I'm hunnybunny. My loss/CP happened last April. I was on month 13 TTC, medicated cycle 4 5. I went in 13DPO for BETA and my hCG was low. The nurse even told me it didn't look good that this would last. Follow-ups showed my level didn't rise at all and then dropped. So I basically got to have my one and only worry-free pregnancy moment for about 6 hours of my life. I am now KTFU again on month 23. So obviously if I have another loss I won't get pregnant again until month 33 (sarcasm).
1) How far along are you? 7+2
2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Okay. My body's version of ms started this week. Emotionally, it's hard for me to feel like this pregnancy is actually happening. I hope that eases up after a good u/s FX.
3) When is your next appointment? Monday for first u/s
4) Rants/Raves/Questions FFWC I am still peeing on sticks every few days. Just to see my hCG isn't dropping.
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read? Harry Potter counts, yes?
3/2015: Start TTC
8/2015: PCOS Dx
4/2016: BFP, Loss (4+5)
2/2017: BFP

2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Pretty good physically which kinda freaks me out. Just lots of cravings.
3) When is your next appointment?
April 6th for normal monthly appt with doppler. Just had blood drawn for the panorama test...but results take forever! So nervous
4) Rants/Raves/Questions
I didn't get fast food for lunch this week! Pretty proud of myself lol
5) GTKY: What was the last truly great book you read?
I really liked the handmaids tale. So thought provoking.
@laeberge3 I can't believe they won't cover screenings!
@migdala I'm going to have to read that book!
