Husband/Father birthday ideas?

it's my husbands birthday this weekend and I'm trying to think of ideas to do something special for him...  Just found out our babysitter is not available...  I was gonna get him a watch but his coworkers just told me they were planning on getting him one as a goodbye gift as we are moving soon...  Any ideas for gifts/things from LOs to dads?  We did a framed photo of baby with "I love daddy" sign for Father's Day last year so trying to think of something else...  Interested in hearing what others do for birthdays and fathers days to share ideas :-)

Re: Husband/Father birthday ideas?

  • I am giving my DH a "photo shoot" with him and LO as part of his birthday gift. I got them matching shirts and we'll go to a pretty park nearby. I'll be the photographer because I don't want to spend a ton but you could hire a professional.

  • For father's day last year Freya got her dad a book called "My Dad Loves Me" and he reads it to her all the time at bedtime.
  • @mamadcb I am an amateur, starting to go pro, photographer.  I would love a daddy/daughter session but I think my husband would probably prefer a day with no photo shoots hahaha. I had gotten them matching shirts and never even put it on our baby yet, wonder if it would still fit her!  Maybe I should try it and try to convince him into a mini shoot.  He always likes the results...  If I lived anywhere near you I would gladly volunteer to be the photographer for your shoot!

@fishee333 I love the idea of a special daddy/baby book !  May not be able to get one in time for the birthday but will keep it in mind for Father's Day!
  • I'm not sure if your LO likes to color or not but my DH loves when i make cute little cards from LO to DH and then let him color them.
If you like a book idea i have two daddy baby books, one I got at walmart and the other one i got at barnes and noble, so they are easy to find.
For DHs birthday last year my LO got him a gift "For When....". It had a shirt ,for when i get yours dirty. His favorite snack, for when i eat all your dinner. the i love my daddy book, for when i want you to read to me.  A nice blanket, for when i want to cuddle. A engery drink, for when i don't let you sleep. I can't remember the other things i put in but my DH liked it. We put in all in a bag with one big card that said happy birthday dad, here is a gift for when... Then cards on each thing that said what i wrote above. Hope that made sense??
