  • Stats: Trying to tone up and maintain current weight. 
    Goals for this week: It's spring break. My goal is to get in a workout each day. No excuses! 
    Goal before TTC: I want to be able to run/workout while pregnant so I need to be in great shape beforehand. 
    GTYKif I'm on the elliptical I turn on Netflix. If I'm running I like listening to podcasts. I recently found the Missing Richard Simmons and it's so sad/intriguing! I also like Thinking Sideways, Generation Why, and True Crime Garage.

  • Stats:  Don't wanna talk about it, lol.  Scale won't move!  In good news, I tried on a bunch of my pre pregnancy clothes and I can fit in some I couldn't a month ago, so there's that at least.  But super frustrating.

    Goals for this week:  Lose 2 pounds for the love of god.  Even 1.  I just want to see the scale move!  And in goals I can control: my goal is to count every single calorie and keep it to 1350 every day, including the weekend.

    Goal before TTC:  My pre preg weight (185) or, ideally) my happy weight of 160.

    GTYK: What do you listen to while getting in a work out?  Nothing lately, weirdly.  Just been enjoying the quiet.

    Goals for this week: Try to get back in the habit of working out.

    Goal before TTC: I'd like to lose some weight but so far that isn't going well.

    GTYK: What do you listen to while getting in a work out? Usually I take a class so whatever the instructor picks.
  • Stats: I'll have an actual weight tomorrow at our weigh-in at work (Biggest Loser challenge). I was 162.2 last Tuesday though.

    Goals for this week: Not to cheat on my diet and to actually see a drop on the scale!! 

    Goal before TTC: At least under 150 (~12 lbs), essentially I'd like to be under 140 though. I was at 130-135 before my last pregnancy and haven't lost any of what I gained (DS is 1).

    GTYK: What do you listen to while getting in a work out? Not that great at working out right now, but even then I don't really have playlists for it. I should, but I don't. I'm just doing quick little kettle bell workouts at home, so nothing too lengthy anyways. When I was working with a trainer though she had a variety; pop, rock, oldies, hard rock...depended on her mood, haha.

    I'm finally joining in this week! Things have been crazy!

    Stats: SW 135, weighed in yesterday at 134.4 so I'll take it.

    Goals for this week: well today has been HORRIBLE nutritionally so my goal is to get back on track tomorrow. I did do well this weekend though, thanks to some extra check ins with you lovely ladies!

    Goal before TTC: I definitely want to get under 130. 128ish would be great.

    GTYK: What do you listen to while getting in a work out? If I'm running, I like audio books or podcasts. If I'm doing a workout video at home, I actually turn on netflix!! A lot of the workouts are the same move for a minute or so at a time so I can totally watch TV! Lol

  • So I got up this morning and stepped on the scale :( I have gained back almost all of the weight I had previously lost. I was really upset at myself but I had a good suspicion because my pants were feeling tighter recently so I was not completely surprised. I still can't mange to drag myself to the gym but I did do a good work out at home today. So small win! Now I just have to convince myself to do it again...
    Any good YouTube workout suggestions? I am thinking this will be the easiest way to fit in work outs for the time being.
  • I know that's really discouraging @glitzandglitter but just stick with it. I haven't been in a gym in years so keep in mind that it's definitely possible to be successful with at-home workouts. 
    I don't have YouTube suggestions but am also interested. Some other thoughts:
    1. Check your local library. They may have some workout DVDs you can take home and try out.
    2. I signed up for the beachbody on demand 30 day free trial the other day. That may be something you can look into. It gives you a month to see if you will use it and if you like it before you pay anything.  
    3. Look into the Bikini Body Mommy workouts on Facebook. They're free!

  • @notthefather - thanks for the suggestions! I would have never thought about the library. I will look into the beach body and bikini mommy :) I did Jillian Michaels today. I didn't love it but it got me up and moving so hopefully I will find something that I can stick with. In the past once I get in the habit of working out I do it - its just getting in the habit that seems to be he problem lately.
  • @notthefather I've been really into Serial lately but I'm almost finished with it! What are your faves? 

    I have beach body on demand and I really like it! I was suuuuuper skeptical of beach body but I did it because I wasn't motivated to go to the gym in the cold! Haha. 
  • @UterusesBeforeDuderuses: I loved the first season of Serial but the whole Bowe Birgdahl case just infuriates me and I couldn't stand to listen to it. I'm waiting on season 3! 
    I like Thinking Sideways, although I find their stuff to be hit or miss. I also like Criminal, True Crime Garage, Generation Why, and Missing Richard Simmons. My favorite non-crime podcast is Radiolab. It has a wide variety of topics.

  • So, I just left my endocrinologist's office and apparently my thyroid is underactive again (I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and had a bad case of postpartum thyroiditis after giving birth to DD that's been difficult to control, so it's not surprising.)  So!  I will beat myself up slightly less about the scale not moving because my doctor thinks it's probably thyroid related.  I'm increasing my dose and it generally takes 4 weeks to take effect, so hopefully I'll get some real movement on the scale my mid April!  Hoping that extra strict diet/exercise will help it budge until then.

    I also officially got the go ahead to TTC in May or June, though I have to come back in June to check my levels again to make sure the increase in meds did the trick.  Woo!
