Has anyone had any luck in the past with the early pregnancy tests? I purchased one that said 6 days earlier to test. I wonder if it's just worth it to wait to the actual first missed day or try earlier? I've been experiencing early pregnancy symptoms since this past Monday, which seems too early as I'm 6 days away (today) from a missed cycle. That would mean my symptoms started up within just days of fertilization. That seems too early to me. Maybe it's in my head? Anyone have any thoughts? I hope this post is ok, I've read the rules and acronyms and I'm a bit intimidated to post for fear I'm going to break one of the various rules.
@RobynHopes I have in the past. It wasn't 6 days though, only 3 before when I got a positive on a first response (frer) If you are going to test a lot you might want to try the wondfos. They are much more cost effective. Also, you might want to steer clear of tests with blue dye! Don't be afraid to jump in, that's how we learn!
I recommend waiting the full TWW, and ignore your symptoms-- they are probably stress. This is just my advice, after driving myself nuts peeing on sticks for days and days, googling the likelihood of false negatives with each passing day, losing hope little by little, with disappointment on top of disappointment. It's just not healthy.
But yeah. If you don't have the willpower to wait, just get wondfos online. They are almost as sensitive as the expensive early response tests, but way, way easier on your wallet. By 10dpo, false negatives become less likely, but you never know until your cycle starts.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
I feel like a headcase, my cycle started today. I swear I felt pregnant up until yesterday morning, I had all those symptoms but, then Sunday night I was sick all night with an intestinal bug and then Monday my we had a parenting issue come up Monday night and I was so stressed out over it. I barely slept. Then I woke up yesterday and knew, things felt different and not right, today confirmed it. I just want to cry. Is it possible we can be pregnant, and then lose it due to an intestinal virus/stress? I know I sound like a headcase. Thanks for letting me talk here, I have no one else to share this with. Thanks.
@RobynHopes I'm sorry - that is the worst. It's so cruel that pregnancy and pms have similar symptoms. I think the more likely scenario is that you were unfortunately not KU this cycle.

@RobynHopes, I'm so sorry to hear of your disappointment. I agree with @laurad75, you probably just weren't pregnant.
If you want to see a huge debate kick up, go to TTGP board and ask if stress prevents pregnancy. Most studies say no, but a few suggest it could.
I would say that no, stress/sickness probably didn't prevent you from getting pregnant, but it probably did make the cycle harder for you, which sucks because this whole ordeal is already hard.
I'm not 100% sure what the policy is for using obscenity/4-letter words on these boards, but I probably can't accurately express how I feel about how hard this all is, without coming across as the most foul-mouthed pirate you could ever imagine. It's that bleeping hard.
Next TWW, do everything you can to ignore your symptoms. Expect to have all of them. Ignore them. Find fun things to do, to distract yourself. I know, it's easier said than done.

As a general rule, as long as you are not using the language to attack someone on the boards, obscenities are both allowed and encouraged.
