I'm sorry if this is a repeat post. I looked for half the night and didn't find one but I'm on the app so looking half the night really means I loaded the same screens over and over again with very little progress.
I'm wanting to hear from ladies about how they told their SO. Did you do something cute? Did you just drop it on him?
My my first pregnancy I just kinda dropped it on my Ex, and he didn't really have anything to say. He paused his video game for a few seconds but didn't really do anything.
This is time I have something cute planed for when I get to see DH this weekend, but I'm also nervous about it.
I'd love to hear everyone's stories about how it went and what you did.
Re: How did you tell your SO?
Not original, I've seen it all over Pinterest, but thought it was perfect for him and his love of cookies. Wasn't expecting him to take 15 minutes to see it, but I guess he was still amped up from being on the road so much.
BFP#3: 2/9/13 EDD 10/18/17. Team Green for Round 2!
i did the test at 5am and DH was still sleeping off a hangover. At 7am I had enough of waiting and woke him up, made him sit up and said: guess what! And showed him the test. It woke him up pretty fast and he was happy! Not romantic, I know...
I was definitely not feeling myself and when I missed my period, I told my DH that I would take a test after dinner, just to ease my mind. I just went upstairs planning to see a negative. When it turned positive, I yelled for him to come and see what I had discovered. He was SO HAPPY. All night he just kept saying "wow, this is so awesome!". He could have just been in a state of shock, so I'm glad he reacted the way he did! I would have loved to tell him in a different way, but the circumstances kind of dictated what happened for us!
Thank you all for sharing.
I have a cookie kind of reveal planned, but different. Part of me wants to tell now and part says wait until it happens so I can say how he reacts. In the meantime I'll enjoy the stories from you all.
I got some custom fortune cookies made that say something about baby coming in October. I don't know yet if I'm going to get take out and pull them out at the end or take him to a sit down and sneak them to the staff to bring us at the end.
This was a surprise baby and my husband and I had been talking about having #2 for a while. He was still very against another child and now that our son is two, I was itching for another baby. When I found out, I called my husband hysterically crying and asked him to forgive me. I told him it wasn't intentional and he asked me what was going on. When I said I was pregnant, he just said OK. Are you alright? Do I need to come home? It was so sweet. I was worried he would be upset but he just wanted to make sure I was OK. Later on he admitted that he knew he was going to say yes to another baby eventually, so I was worried for nothing!

Ambrose born on his due date!
Gave it to him and he guessed before he even opened be freaking envelope.
I had to leave for work, so I left a note that said "hey *baby*, can you believe it??" with the test. A few hours later, he started texting me about our taxes we had just done, when all of a sudden he saw it. He responded with "OMG I'M GOING TO BE A DAD" over and over followed by that meme of Tom Brady crying with "hell yes, we made a Super Bowl baby"
best at part though:changing our infertility appointment to an OB appointment
This time, I found out the day before Valentine's Day. I was determined to make it better then last time! I played it cool all day. Wrapped the test in tissue paper and put it in a bag and decorated it for V-Day. I left the gift on the table and when he came home from work, I told him DD and I had a early V-Day gift for him! He opened it up and was SO excited! I'm so glad I got to see his emotion and excitement this time around!
BFP in September 2014, DS born June 2015.
TTC x2 months.
BFP January 2017.
So we were TTC for months, but I have pcos so I was feeling like it was never going to work. He got laid off from work just before holidays but he tends to be right back working so we didn't worry about it to much. January he still didn't have a job. February he still didn't have a job. So we sat and talked about that we should stop trying because our savings was going to run out, little did I know it had already happened at that point.
My peroid was late according to the Ava tracking thing I use, but it always is so no big deal right? Well every time I sit and freak out that I finally am and I over stress myself just to end up being a week or more late. This time I had a test at home from a multi pack I'd bought a while back so I just told myself I'd test, get the no, and save myself a week plus if stress... In this time DH got a job offer in another city. We'd been wanting to leave our city anyway so he jumped at it. We agreed I'd stay in Memphis so the kids can finish the school year out and he would come on to Nashville.
I take the test... it is not the no I was expecting, I told a very close friend and she and I both thought this would make him not want to leave so I kept it to myself even though it was killing me. The one good thing about waiting was it gave me a lot of time to get creative about how I would tell him.
This weekend I came up to Nashville so we can look at houses and such. My friend gave me a gift card to PF Changs so I'd have a great excuse to get him there for dinner and I found these super cute fortune cookies on etsy that had a custom forutune in them about baby and coming in October.
All of dinner i was freaking out. When he went to the bathroom I got the hostess and told her what was up and gave her the cookies. She was so nice and told me not to worry. I still worried but I tried to be cool all of dinner. When they brought our stuff at the end of the meal he said "oh wow I've never gotten fancy cookies like this before!" But I don't think he even really looked at them. When he read the fortune he sat there for a second and said "that's a weird fortune..." so I asked him what it meant. He looked all start struck and said "baby?" and I nodded. After that he just smiled for a few minutes and then started asking me a million questions. I recorded it on my phone. It was very cute. Here's what the cookies looked like and said.
