How far along are you? 13 weeks tomorrow! 2nd tri, here I come!

Upcoming appointments this week? Yes, NT scan and blood draw for a cell free DNA test on Monday afternoon.

Any new symptoms, changes, or cravings? Nausea is dying down a lot (except for in the evenings), but food aversions are not. Also, I'm getting some prey painful coccyx pain, and some lightening crotch, both of which are very unpleasant. 

Rants/Raves/Questions? None of my clothed fit. I am down to a pair of leggings, a pair of pants, two dresses, and five shirts. But maternity shots look ridiculous on me. I haven't felt this awkward in my body since I magically got boobs in one month back in the seventh grade.

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time? We met on Labour Day 2005 at college. I was the awkward third wheel on a sort-of date in the Student Union, and the girl I was there to support was like, "My friend Tyler is watching football over there with that group, you'll like him, let me introduce you," before taking off to make out with this other guy. She was right I did like Tyler, but we argued about music and football, and I went home and told my roommate that I met the hottest guy, but he was too arrogant. Two weeks later, the same girlfriend and I took all our freshmen friends to sit at a dinner table with Tyler and her brother and a bunch of other musicians she thought would make us look cool. Everyone else left pretty quickly, but Tyler stayed and hung out with all these dorky freshman for three hours just to be around me. That night I told my roommate that I'd been wrong about the guy from the student union- he wasn't too arrogant, and I was going to marry him. We started dating two months later. And now, 12 years to the month after we met, we're having or first baby.  
(Plot twist: the friend who introduced us decided she had a crush on DH too, an got really huffy and awkward when we started dating. She once told me she regretted introducing me to him because she may have lost her future husband to me.) (Also, sorry this got so long. I just like us a lot, haha!)

(the Ovia pregnancy app has 4 themes you can choose from: Fruits & Veggies, Parisian Bakery, Fun & Games, and Weird-but-cute animals It also has a cute little handprint thing that shows pink for the size of LO's handprint now compared to an outline of a newborn size handprint that it slowly starts to fill through the pregnancy....so cute)

Upcoming appointments this week? no appointments until the anatomy scan now     

Any new symptoms, changes, or cravings? I puked for the first time yesterday...other than that, nothing new.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  just that I'm sad that I get no confirmation that LO is doing ok from my u/s at 8+3 until whenever my anatomy scan will be (sometime between 17-20 weeks). I cannot WAIT for a baby bump to confirm that (s)he's growing down in there!

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time? I met him in highschool youth group. I didn't like him right away, but the more I got to know him the more I liked him

Nope, not until the 14th!

Any new symptoms, changes, or cravings? 
Sure, this week I have felt significantly more like death. It has been bad and has me begging for relief. Otherwise, everything else is the same.

Dry heaving is the devil. Surprisingly my only rant or Rave.

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time?
Haha I met him when I was in 5th grade and he lived across the street from us. He was in high school and was both my brothers' best friend! He still is. And noooo.. we actually hated each other! I was annoying and he was a jerk. We moved away and my brothers kept in touch with him, but we didn't actually see each other again until I was 18. We started dating a year after that and the rest is history!

@BigBadWolf12 wow, 6+ weeks to go without an appt is a long stretch! I don't think I've ever gone more than 4. I see you've had a loss, I wonder if your dr would let you come in just to listen to the HB? My dr lets me do that.

Any new symptoms, changes, or cravings? I've had zero cravings this whole time. I barely have an appetite. I had no nausea for two whole days and I was so excited that it had finally left. Then it returned a little today. Not as bad as it was, so I'm still hopeful it's on its way out for good!

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time? We met on match.com! I'd moved to a new city and we met at the art museum. It was not love at first sight for me, I thought he'd just be a friend, but he later told me he knew I was the one he was going to marry after that first date. We were engaged 7 months after that.

We met online first and were good friends and relied on each other for support (we both have had tragic pasts). In the end we have always loved each other. We just didn't think it would ever work. Long distance sucks, but the effort and communication has made us so strong.

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time? I was the maid of honor and he was the best man in our friends wedding. I had just barely gotten out of a long term relationship and my friend pushed us togetger. We hit it off right away

@Daisy621 thanks for the suggestion. Everything prenatal in this country goes through a midwife, and she knows about my loss and that I'm nervous about it. She knows we had started infertility testing and that we were trying longer than a year. She said they only check heartbeat after 24 weeks (I'm thinking they must not use dopplers and just stethoscopes for it to be that late?). She did say I could book a gyno appointment for an elective u/s if I really need, but she made it seem like that would be a werid thing to do since you don't get any special treatment until you've had 3 losses or if you're high risk, and I'm thankfully neither.

I'm convincing myself that it's ok, for now at least, because:
a) seeing on an u/s or confirming heart rate is not going to change the outcome of anything. What's going to happen will happen.
b) I'm 11 weeks and I have seen the heart beat before, so my odds of loss should be lower
c) my first loss was spontaneous, so (without research... ignorance is bliss here, so don't correct me if you know otherwise until after the anatomy scan ) I figure my body knows what to do with an unviable baby and won't just hang on to it for 20 freakin weeks?

It's just so weird because this country is ALL about supporting mental health issues and ALL about pregnancy and babies and family building...but I'm finding the first tri care very lacking, especially for pgal which combines mental health and pregnancy.. it's just so weird to me that this isn't a thing here. Also, I had the loss while on summer holidays in Canada and wasn't under the care of a doctor over here at that point. So it's not like I have a health professional here that "knows" me...I'm just some random foreign chick who is ku and asking for unconventional extras to them.

a lot of 1st trimester nuisances have faded but otherwise just tired still and acid reflux at night

rants: my mother has decided to throw me a babyshower...but i have to be ok with it being 6hrs away with just family and when she wants it to be...sooo really it's just an excuse for her to show off her boob job shes getting at the end of the month to her sister and family etc....soo i dont wanna go.

my ex boyfriend's old roommate became roommates with DH and dragged me to a party where his roommate also was at. And apparently DH wasnt allowed to hit on me because i was like a little sister to the guy so DH was mean, so I told him off a couple times and we played drinking games very competitively against each other and by the end of the night he pulled me aside and said "actually im a nice guy and i would love to take you out for coffee sometime".  Aand coffee ended up being dinner and a movie but I had to drive bc said roommate borrowed his truck and didnt get back on time.

No new symptoms. Still very nauseous and tired all of the time.

We found out this week that we are having a boy! Also very excited the results of the Harmony test came back great.

I met DH senior year in college. His roommate had done a semester in Europe with my roommate. We met them at a college bar one night for drinks. I liked him right away, but it took awhile for us to get together.

My best friend introduced us at a party she planned on the Navy base for the sailors. I went with another friend to support her. It's funny though because we didn't talk at all at the party, mainly because this other guy wouldn't stop following me around...it drove me insane. A few days later DH asked my friend for my number.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  Yay for maternity clothes!  After spending the last week super uncomfortable in my regular jeans, even with the bella band, I finally got my maternity jeans back from the tailor.

Hubby and I met in HS. We dated for 11 years and he finally asked me to marry him. We have officially known each other half our lives

Any new symptoms, changes, or cravings? The strong sense of smell is not backing down. And it sucks. We had friends over and one of their feet was super smelly. I asked DH after if he had noticed ... and he couldn't smell a thing. 

Rants/Raves/Questions?  I get super irritated when people who fall into the acquaintance category act like they deserve to know tons of info about my pregnancy. One of these people got really annoying last time because we found out the gender but didn't tell anyone. She's already at it again ... asking questions like "are you gonna tell this time or torture me again?" Um ... my uterus, my decision. Back. Off. 

GTKY: How did you meet your DH/SO? Did you like him right away, or did it take time? We met in college we worked for the same place on campus. The first time I saw him, I swear the room starting glowing. He does not remember this meeting. I had a major crush on him and when I found out he had a girlfriend I was super bummed. We worked on a class project together and got along well. A few years later, I found out he and his GF had broken up .... and made sure he knew I was around and interested. We started dating 6 years ago, been married just over 4, and now second baby on the way.

SO happy to finally be in the 2nd tri now!!! Will be announcing the pregnancy very soon on social media, possibly on St. Patty's Day.

We met on an online site and I fell head over heels! He moved in very quickly and it'll be 3 years in August. I still feel the same amount of love and we're engaged to get married on 8/18/18. I'm so happy that this is our 1st baby together. He has 3 kids and I came in with 2. I love being a large family.
