Re: Symptoms Thread (week of 03/04)

  • My mouth is so dry and has a gross taste lately. I've been drinking water all day, but it's not really helping.
I had this early last week. I couldn't enjoy water and it wasn't making me feel less thirsty - so I switched to apple juice and watered down sweet tea. Now I can't stand apple juice but water has regained its tastiness lol.

  • Has anyone had an increase in headaches? I'm prone to headaches and migraines so my doctor said Tylenol is okay - but I'm still worried about taking any during first trimester. I've tried more water and ice packs and pressure points and facial massages but today I'm really struggling.
Can anyone ease my concerns about acetaminophen?

  • @vvilla3 I had to take Tylenol with DS during first tri because I got a virus that gave me a super high fever. He was fine.

Personally, for me, Tylenol doesn't even touch my headaches. I had a huge problem with them in 2nd Tri last time and my doc recommended trying Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) and it seemed to help.

  • @vvilla3 I'm starting to get headaches. Had one all day yesterday and drank litres of water. It helped to be hydrated but I was running to the toilet every 30mins. Paracetemol helps me and is safe.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Still exhausted, nauseas when I'm not starving, a bit of cramping, waking up every night at 3am...and then today I have diarrhea. Wtw? This is after weeks of constipation. Who knows? I'm trying to stay positive ❤
  • 10 weeks tomorrow. Still nauseous. I think it may be getting a tiny bit better, but definitely still don't feel well between 4pm and 11pm. Also having very vivid dreams. One dream I was cleaning my childhood room that we sold many years ago another one I had a Mc Donald's cheeseburger which I haven't eaten since high school.  Weird!
  • Restless sleep, exhaustion during the day, sore nipples, some nausea and some food aversions.  The only one that really bugs me is the exhaustion during the day.  It's put me in a funk that I can't shake.

  • @jessafishy I haven't taken Tylenol for a headache in years. I usually take exedrine migraine. I'll try b12, thanks!

  • The food aversions are bad this week. And I have such a heightened sense of smell that everything makes me sick. I can't stand the smell of my own shampoo, deodorant, hand soap, etc. I can smell everything and I hate it.

This weekend I picked up a stomach virus, or so I think. Saturday night/Sunday morning the diarrhoea started and hasn't stopped. And it's now late afternoon on Wednesday.

It's been pretty horrible I'm basically chained to my bed or the bathroom and have been off work all week. After not eating nearly anything for four days I feel weak and am so over it.

I went to see the doctor today who said it's probably a virus, but wanted to do some bloodwork. The place she sent me to, the bathroom was so rank, I ended up vomiting up the little I have eaten from the smell!

Has anyone had anything like this? I'm questioning if it's really a virus as my husband and son have been spared.

Also, in my other pregnancies I had zero morning sickness. Being out of commission this week has given me a new level of respect for those of you they do.
  • This 6th week is hitting me hard.
    Dry eyes and lips
    Nausea all day
    Headaches
    Constipation
    Constantly peeing and drinking
Fatigue and exhaustion is just worse.
And today I want to pass out. I get so lightheaded and I'm feeling really woozy.
  • Nausea is starting to fade and so is the pure exhaustion. The mood swings however are awful and I'm so bloated my paints no longer fit comfortably. I picked up some belly bands but they are tight and annoying. I'm so not ready to pull out the maternity pants just yet..... I am also complaining a lot. My poor poor husband.
  • 10+1 and insomnia has arrived.
Also, after 1.5 glorious symptom-free days, the vomiting, tailbone pain, debilitating exhaustion, staving yet uninterested has returned. Plus a lot of anxiety. So many mommas have left our group already and I'm scared to have bad news on Tuesday for my monthly check up.
    Ugh late night thoughts

  • @MommyKay I'm struggling with the dry lips too.

Today is a total nightmare so far.  Woke up with nausea.  Just a sour stomach feeling which has lasted into the morning.  I've never really had this at night.

@vvilla3 I'm with you on the anxiety, especially having my first appt so far our.

  • so this is new. I have like an ache that seems to come and go and it starts in the left side of my vagina (outside) and goes down the back of my thigh. I was googling blog clots but my sister said she had it too. lol

my daughter just got over a stomach virus I'm praying I don't get it. I would go ahead and go in to be sure you aren't dehydrated. that would be my main concern right now.

  • @Hiddenlake How far along are you?  I know everyone is different but I'm super looking forward to the nausea fading...
  • 10 weeks tomorrow. I still have some episodes here and there but they aren't nearly as bad.
  • is anyone having irritation in the Nether regions? I'm starting to get a little concerned but I'm sure by my appt on Monday it will be gone.  sigh.

  • I feel like poop. With my previous pregnancies, I just suffered through the nausea and vomiting. Today my OB wrote me a prescription for Diclectin. Has anyone taken it? I know they say it's safe for pregnancy but my PGAL brain has me terrified to take anything! Any advice??

    Totally safe.

I was prescribed it with my last pregnancy though and most of my friends who've had babies have used it. I've never taken it though.

My PGAL brain gets the best of me at times and I actually feel some comfort and less worry in having the MS/nausea. It's almost reassuring in a way. My friends think I'm crazy since I could alleviate the symptoms, but when we lost that was my biggest sign - loss of symptoms. I hope that makes some sort of strange sense lol.
