Apps

I was thinking about this on my way home yesterday and @bacorrea asked about one in the randoms thread.
I know we've discussed different apps for things, but they're all over the place and I'd love one spot to look so...

Recommend your favorite app for:
Tracking things during pregnancy, like movement:
Tracking contractions/ Labor:
Breastfeeding apps:
General baby stuff:

Re: Apps

  • I used Total Baby with DD2 to track feedings/pumping times and it had other features for tracking doctor appts/vaccines/medication etc. I'll likely use it again for this LO!

  • My husband and I each had Baby Connect, and I also had Wonder Weeks.
  • Wonder weeks! Totally worth it. I still have it on my phone since I knew we would have a 2nd eventually.

I can't remember what I used last time. I just downloaded a random highly rated free contraction app and it was fine. And the baby app I had tracked diapers, feedings, medicine and a lot more. It was nice and if you paid then it could be linked with DH if needed.

  • I used Full Term for contraction timing which did the job. Wonder weeks is awesome for development stuff and figuring out when/why your baby is being a turd :)

  • Love this thread. Thanks @nda_roxybabe!
  • Tracking things during pregnancy, like movement: Haven't used / needed one
Tracking contractions/ Labor:  "Contraction Timer 9m" - simple, no frills

Breastfeeding apps:  MommyMeds (from InfantRisk center at Texas Tech) and LactMed (NIH database) -- for medication guidance during breastfeeding!
The InfantRisk center also has a hotline! 1-806-352-2519 And a website: https://mommymeds.com/
LactMed also has a website: https://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/newtoxnet/lactmed.htm

General baby stuff:  NeWT (Newborn Weight loss Tool; actually just a bookmark to the site www.newbornweight.org) -- super handy tool created by Penn State Children's Hospital for tracking baby's weight in the first 72 hours (no growth charts show the normal dip in weight that *every* baby will experience, no matter if breastmilk/formula-fed or born via vaginal/cesarean delivery.

And for tracking diapers, feeding, etc etc I used SmallNest for DD but I am trying out Baby Tracker this time around.

Other:  For an electronic baby 'journal' I might use Tinybeans -- not sure if I'll keep up with it but with two babies to keep track of it might be easier than a hand-written thing. We'll see!
