Time Change Reminder

I know that when the time change occurred in the fall, there was a lot of lamenting about how poorly LOs adjusted. A week from Sunday we spring forward, meaning we lose an hour!
Since we were going through a time change AND traveling through three time zones in the same week, I started altering LO's sleep schedule about a week before in the fall. It really helped. I'm planning on starting this Sunday, and starting 10 minutes earlier to bed, gradually getting to the hour by next Sunday. Hopefully.

Re: Time Change Reminder

  • Yes! We've concocted the same plan. It worked great in the fall. I'm hoping for the same results. I really don't want to be getting up an hour earlier!

  • I think I'll stick with my AZ time change ignorance over here. Didn't even know it was this weekend. Good luck to you!
  • We're hoping that the time change will help us push DS's bedtime back a bit.  He currently start going to sleep at 6:30.   I'm hoping we can get to 7

The time change seems to be going well enough in terms of what time naps/bedtime take place... but is anyone else experiencing way more tears at bedtime? David hasn't cried going down for bedtime in months (although he generally does briefly for naps) and the last few days he's cried for 10-15 minutes. It's not unbearable, just unusual for him and I'm wondering if it's time change related or if something else is going on.
  • I was actually looking forward to the time change so LO would have a later bedtime and then a later wakeup time. But then she got her first ear infection and isn't sleeping at all. :( So I'm not sure what our schedule will end up looking like.
  • Oh this time change plus and a busy weekend has thrown or schedule in to a wack. My brother fed Keat cake at 6:30 so he was wired and didn't get to bed until 10:00 and then didn't wake up until 10:00 napped at 6:00 at grandma's and then didn't go to bed until 10:30. Awww we had got on a good 8-8 schedule with a 1:00 nap. Hopefully we can get back to it soon!!
  • Yes I'm experiencing way more tears at nap time and bed time too since the time change. It's pretty unusual for her as well. I mean maybe one out of her 2 naps she might've cried but now it's both naps and bed time!
  • Yes! Tears galore! Claire hasnt cried going to bed since she was 6 months. The last two nights she cried and cried. And we cant get her to bed at her normal time. It used to be 630/7 now she cries until 8. She wakes up at 8 which I normally wouldn't mind but we have to get up early so I can go to work twice a week and I just hate waking her.
