  • @march2008 @starphish18 I got the TDAP shot on Monday and my arm was sore until last night. Every time I put on my coat my arm hurt :/ hopefully your experience won't be as bad!

same for me when I got the TDaP. I remember. It being able to lift my 2yo because any weight made my arm hurt more.

How big is baby? Squash acorn

Any appointments this week? I was supposed to have one yesterday but DD has been pretty sick then she has her well being appt tomorrow. So mine has been moved to next Monday.

Symptoms? Sore hips. Got a couple of RLP for the first time in a while. It was a nice break while it lasted but baby must have jist gone through a growth spurt. Ow.

Cravings? Sweet. Especially Dr Pepper. But I'm limiting myself to one small bottle a week.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: like i mentioned, DD has been sick. Shes been having these horrible coughing fits at bedtime that she struggled to sleep the first couple nights. So we havent been sleeping good either. Yesterday she didn't even wake up until 130pm! She seem to have slept better last night and her fever is staying down today. Hopefully this illness has run its course!

Rave: My mom is coming to visit today for the next week. DD loves her and ofc so do I, so were excited to have her. Her next visit will be when its time for baby to come. Eeks!

GTKY: If you could pick the length of pregnancy (with baby being fully developed at whatever length of time), how long would your pregnancy be and why? Probably 35 weeks? I can't imagine any less because its nice to have the time to prepare etc. That last month is always the worst in term of comfort and being ugh I want baby out yet I want baby to keep baking until s/he is ready.

    How far along are you?
    30 weeks

    How big is baby?
cucumber -- going off of @march2008 's ticker :) OR, cabbage, according to her post
(also, are those vegetables even roughly the same size???)

    Any appointments this week?
    this afternoon I have one

    Symptoms?
As I've been saying recently, my SPD is surprisingly good right now compared to where it usually is at this point in the pregnancy. The main symptom I have had recently has been a very sore back all of the time. It's the whole back. I feel like it is from sleeping, but I don't know. I scheduled my first pregnancy massage for 2 weeks from now!

    Cravings?
Nothing in particular, even though I always like sweets, but I don't have any true "cravings" recently.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green?
Green. I've been saying girl most of the pregnancy but now I'm wondering if it really might be a boy.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
N/A...just can't wait for that massage. I'm thinking of scheduling a short non-pregnancy chair one just so I can get my back worked on. It is SO sore!

Oh and DH and I DTD the other day. It wasn't easy and the position we had to go for wasn't one I like, but typically that position is sort of painful and it wasn't at all this time. I just didn't orgasm. But I did have a great time and I'm hoping we can get it on more before we decide it's too close/risky (it MAYBE can induce labor, and my schedule really doesn't allow for this baby to come early.)

GTKY: If you could pick the length of pregnancy (with baby being fully developed at whatever length of time), how long would your pregnancy be and why?
Probably 2ish months so there is enough time to get some things ready but the pregnancy is as short as possible.
Now on the flip side, I do wish babies came out more developed. If our birth canals allowed for it, I would opt for even more gestation so that the first few months aren't as hard, even if it meant feeling all the more giant at the end of the pregnancy.

I think if human gestation could be 6 months that would be perfect. 3 trimesters of 8 weeks sounds nice. Maybe it's because I'm a FTM, but 40 weeks sounds like forever away still. I feel thankful human gestation is not as long as giraffes or elephants who are pregnant for a year or more (I don't recall exactly how long they've pregnant for, but it's a long time).
LOL, as a first-timer I enjoyed the pregnancy more and was totally ok with the timeline. For me, successive pregnancies have felt very "been there, done that," and that's why I said 2 months was a good length for pregnancy.

@luckywife10, I definitely remember the arm soreness when I got the TDAP vaccine during my first pregnancy. They were originally going to give it to me at my last appointment, but I was already doing the glucose challenge test and getting my Rhogam shot, so I asked if I could be spared from the TDAP until my appointment tomorrow. Thankfully, they showed mercy.  ;)

@starphish18, I've had the Rhogam shot twice with my first pregnancy and then two weeks ago for this pregnancy and I won't lie that it burned while it was going in, but I didn't have any soreness at all afterward. The nurse gave me the shot in my behind and maybe that helped, so it's worth asking if you can get it there if they try and go for your arm.  :)

@pshaortao, I'm sorry that your LO has been sick! Hope she is feeling better soon.

@mcvgal, hoping everything goes perfectly with your c-section tomorrow!!

@kat81, I also read that babies on average are nearly 3 lbs by week 30 and I just can't imagine a 3 lb-sized cucumber. Haha. They're not even a very long vegetable either!

How far along are you? 28 weeks

How big is baby? Eggplant, whichbsais 14.8in and 2.2lb.

Any appointments this week? I went for my glucose test today and the lab had just closed an hour for lunch so I'm going back tomorrow. The lab is in the same building as my PCP so I'm also getting my tDap tomorrow.

Symptoms? Still some occasional mild heartburn, RLP, BH, peeing all the time.

Cravings? Right now I really want warm chocolate chip cookies.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue

    Rants/Raves/Questions? None

GTKY: If you could pick the length of pregnancy (with baby being fully developed at whatever length of time), how long would your pregnancy be and why? I think I'm happy with about 40 weeks. It's enough time to prepare for the arrival without being pregnant forever.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • First time playing here! Thanks for letting me join in after my EDD got adjusted

    How far along are you
    ? 29 weeks

How big is baby? Acorn squash

Any appointments this week? Nope, just had one a few days ago

Symptoms? Nausea, cramping, crankiness, insatiable thirst and constant peeing because of it. You know, typical.

Cravings? Pizza bagels. Carbs in general

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green

Rants/Raves/Questions? This week has been a struggle at work, I just want to be home already. Like @museic said, it's totally senioritis!

GTKY: If you could pick the length of pregnancy (with baby being fully developed at whatever length of time), how long would your pregnancy be and why?
I really don't mind being pregnant, but 30 weeks seems good. Just long enough to prepare but not too long that you get unbearably uncomfortable
  • How far along? 31 weeks!

    How big is baby? Asparagus

Appts this week: Today (Fri). Nothing too exciting but baby measured small. U/s will be in the next 1-2 weeks & NSTs start next week. Also, I had a prenatal massage today!

Symptoms: The crazy pregnancy dreams continue. Last night I dreamed of daycares & donuts & family members & yard sales & babies & unprepared diaper bags & parades & BBQ restaurants & mean bullies in bathrooms & protecting kids from vehicles as they ran across the street to play on their Friday off from school.

Cravings: donut holes! I haven't given in yet.
One of my biggest cravings all pregnancy, milk, has gone away. It ran my sugar up too high & my dr had me start a calcium supplement. This week I only had milk 3x as compared to the previous weeks...on average, 10x.

    Team Pink!

I feel the length of the pregnancy is fine at 40 weeks. But then again, FTM here. I've enjoyed it so far but I don't really know what those last few weeks are like!
  • @mcvgal Hope everything goes well!!
  • @chailife34 Welcome! I just bought pizza bagels today! I was too curious. Can't wait to try them.
  • @n&a0630 Gotta love the prenatal massages!

    Welcome @chailife34 :)

Phew, looks like I passed my glucose test...which is good, cause my baby shower is consisting of a dessert buffet (yeah, just desserts). Other side note from my appointment today - I was glad to hear my doctor mention that my weight looked good. I hadn't asked at any of my appointments, and no one commented thus far, but I was a little curious seeing as I've gained about 27 lbs at this point. Numbers-wise, it seems high to me, yet I feel like I'm still eating healthy/normally and all the weight just seems to be going to my belly and boobs. So, I'm glad to get that reassurance from the doc today that things look good. Now I want pizza.

How big is baby? Acorn Squash

Any appointments this week? None this week - 30 week appointment next Wednesday

    Symptoms? A lot of heartburn

Cravings?  Fresh fruit, especially pineapple and fountain coke  -- neither of which help the heartburn!

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant - DS1 has been sick for a couple of days and not sleeping well. He has thrush from his breathing treatments and it's also upsetting his stomach. I really want him to feel better and I could really use some sleep!

Rave - I found out I'm have 3 baby showers! I thought I wasn't having any since this is my second but my work told me yesterday that they are throwing me one at the end of March, DH's cousin is throwing me a "diaper shower" in April and my mom said she's planning a "sprinkle" in April as well! We are blessed with amazing family and friends!

GTKY: If you could pick the length of pregnancy (with baby being fully developed at whatever length of time), how long would your pregnancy be and why? 40 weeks is fine with me, I tend to procrastinate so the more time I have the better!
