Re: TTGP Grad Check-in | March 2

  • How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids? 10+4 singleton

Anyone have an appointment this week? tomorrow is my first appointment with the midwife now that my gyno has transferred me over.

Cravings/Symptoms? not too much, just really tired all the time.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I just want to be out of first tri!!! I've had a super easy first tri, so on one hand I shouldn't complain....but on the other hand, it makes pgal brain go crazy when I don't REALLY have much to go off of other than 'I'm really tired'.

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas? I'm on holidays this week, so I spent a chunk of time yesterday planning out an announcement picture.  Every year, I make a scrapbook and we take it back to Canada with us to show people about our past year. We're coming up on our 5th anniversary, so the picture shows the scrapbooks labeled "scrapbook 1", ..., "scrapbook 4". Then there's a sign saying "scrapbook 5" with an arrow pointing to some baby stuff (draft had a bib and shoes, I might change the bib to a onesie) and, although it wasn't in my draft, I made another little sign saying "September 2017" (because I didn't put the date in the first one lol).

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child? I liked peanut butter and cheez whiz sandwiches (together, like pb&j, but pb&cw) lol

    Cravings/Symptoms?
Nothing really still surper happy about fruit and ice tea and super unhappy about all other things....

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
still sick and now my ear infection has turned to pain and blockage!  Always fun..

@BigBadWolf12 OMG, I love the TTGP grad thread this week, so many wonderful ladies got their BFPs!!

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids?  12+6 today.  Only one in there!  DS is 15m.

Anyone have an appointment this week?  Monday and Tuesday.  Midwife and NT scan, both were great.  I have to do an early GD test (boo) bc I got fat since my last baby.  I'm confident I'll pass it (both times I have to take it), but whatever.

Cravings/Symptoms?  Nausea is departing, and my energy is starting to come back.  Second tri, I'm ready for you!!

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  I'm so happy that the nausea is really and truly fading.  I've been cautiously optimistic about it the last few weeks, but it really seems to be true this time.  No nausea until 18w, yay!!  Also, I bought a bunch of nice tops on Gap/ Old Navy this week, and got 40% off.  Win.

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?
Our previous announcement was as shown in the spoiler box.  We also had one with me in a shirt with a baby Stig (it's a car show thing) on the belly.  DH wants to do something with shoes again, I'm ambivalent.  Not sure how we're announcing yet, but now that we had the NT scan and everything checked out great, we're ready- we just haven't done it yet, haha.  ETA- We totally climbed a bunch of rocks into the middle of a creek to get that picture.  We're big outdoors people, so it made sense!  Getting socks back on wet feet is no fun though.

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child?  Not that I can think of?  I had (and still have) an undying devotion to soup.  I can eat soup on a 95F day.  Pregnancy slows my roll a bit bc I'm always so warm, but not too much!

  • @coloradohiker omg, my husband looooves Top Gear. I'm going to NOT tell him about your baby stig shirt, otherwise he might veto my scrapbook announcement and want to do that instead :D

@BigBadWolf12  Complete with car in the background, haha.  And my face is obviously a big black oval!  We had two announcements, just because he wanted to do the baby Stig shirt so badly.  I was fine with AWing.

  • @BigBadWolf12  What a cute idea!  & good for you keeping up on scrapbooking!  I tried to make one for our wedding.... I got about 3 pages done.  :#

@jillibean0871what does one do with a cold hot dog... just eat it straight?  :|

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples?
    other kids?
    11+1, singleton, no other kids

Anyone have an appointment this week?
Next week at 12 weeks exactly we have a check-in with doppler

    Cravings/Symptoms?
Tired, eating less, the congestion (UGH.)

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
My blood tests all came back 'normal'.  Woot!

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?
I don't think we'll do a public announcement.  I'm not a huge share-er on social media.  I love seeing other peoples things, but like to keep my life pretty private.

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child?
I used to eat chopped olive sandwiches.  Black olives, mayo and white bread.  I remember them being delicious, but I constantly got made fun of by kids telling me I was eating bird poop, so I eventually stopped.   :/

  • How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids? 10 weeks 1 day | Singleton | None

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope....strange to not be seeing our little eggo on a ultrasound. Trying to not be nervous about weening off the progesterone and estrogen and eggo being ok. I wish someone was doing more monitoring of my weening and my P and E #'s....but so far not happening.

Cravings/Symptoms? Heartburn, Hunger...so much hunger, tiredy. Craving things that are fresh and or really carb satisfying.

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?

We already announced (at 8 weeks/valentines day on FB and to our close friends and family right after Beta's telling them to be cautiously optimistic). :) We posted with a picture of a onsie we bought a long time ago and a pair of booties...saying "After years of trying all we can say is we are in (and then inserted picture of onsie booties that spelled out LOVE)" We also did one of varying sizes of heart cookie cutters and the year dates. We have been somewhat open about our IVF/FET so we posted the picture of the eggo right before transfer. It felt really nice to celebrate with so many people that were so excited for us after our years of trying.

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child?
I am was not (and am still not) a fan of peanut butter and often ate a cheddar and yellow mustard sandwiches. My dad would sometimes share pickled hearing or canned sardines with me as a kid...and I remember it being a treat to eat them with him.

  • @BigBadWolf12 @ColoradoHiker I also had to show my H your baby stig announcement. We love Top Gear/Grand Tour!

Some of these NBR GTKY's are making me gag.

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids?
    11 weeks with a singleton. + an 11yo DD
Anyone have an appointment this week?
    Not til the 15th
    Cravings/Symptoms?
Still exhausted all the time with sore boobs. Otherwise I'm feeling good!
    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
I can't wait to tell DD that I'm KU! I think we're going to on our anniversary, I'll be 13 weeks. I've also been thinking of getting a doppler so she can hear the heartbeat.
    Questions?
    Nope
pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?
I plan on telling our DD by having her open a box with a onesie that says 'I love my big sister' with an U/S pic. My H wants to tell his family over text message, which is fine with me. Expect his mom and grandma, we'll tell them in person. We'll probably just have DD tell them. We don't really like a lot of attention on us.
NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child?
My grandma used to make me peanut butter and bologna sandwiches and I loved them. We would also eat ice cubes with salt.

@ChefRamsay me too! I'm over here gagging.

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples?
    other kids? 14w+1d. Singleton. FTM.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope! Just scheduled ALL of the rest of my appointments though. That was overwhelming.

Cravings/Symptoms? Mexican food always... which could contribute to my #1 symptom, weight gain.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant: We got our billing estimate from the doc that we must pay by week 28. But it doesn't cover labs, ultrasounds, or any of the hospital bill. So i'm a little confused what my $2K+ is going to. Meeting with billing at the next appt.
Raves: Finally told everyone at work this week, so it's nice to not try to hide it now. I'm hosting a baby shower for a co-worker tomorrow, and it seems so much more fun since I'm pregnant now too!

Questions? Any tips on how to be better prepared for LO financially and help DH calm down about money? He's freaking out, and all I can really say is that our priorities shift a bit, and that it'll all work out.

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?
I did this at work, which was fun! Waiting to decide on our social media announcement.

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child? Probably the weirdest is that I liked to dip potato chips in ketchup. But I never liked my food to touch either.

Anyone have an appointment this week? No, just waing on NIPT results. It's been 1 week!

Cravings/Symptoms? gas/bloating, low blood sugar fatigue, left tailbone pain.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I had a dream I was having a boy! And I picked his name out. But also as the dream ultrasound went on, kept finding more and more things wrong. Why dream? Also I think dream me picked a weird name..

Questions? I'm wondering if my NIPT could come back today..

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas? We haven't done anything and have no plans. So much effort! I suck.

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child? more like look at all the foods I did NOT eat. I hardly ate anything. I lived on cereal and mac n cheese!

  • @BigBadWolf12 that scrapbook idea is adorable!  I'm so jealous of you crafty types since I don't have a creative bone in my body...
@ChefRamsay Ice cubes with salt? Also, it must be so much fun to have a DD who is old enough to get it when you tell her!  Do you think she suspects anything?
@MrsVP614 you just got me worried with your billing estimate, since my office hasn't said anything about that yet.... I wish I had some $$ advice, but your answer to him sounds pretty reasonable!

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples?
other kids?  Ugh, I just got my EDD changed and it messed me up.  I guess I'm technically 10+0 today with my new EDD but I measured at 10+4 on Wednesday so... Just one in there, despite the new size of my belly  :#

Anyone have an appointment this week? Had my first real OB appt on Wednesday, which was fun.  Also weird, because the (male) OB kept thanking me after he did everything?  Like, "I'm just going to swab here, thank you" and "that looks good, thank you" and it was strange.  I know he was just being polite, but ... definitely weird.

Cravings/Symptoms?  Still nothing too terrible, physically.  I usually feel decent until early afternoon, then everything heads downhill from there.  Actually, headaches!  Those are new and awful.  And the constant weird-as-f*ck dreams.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  I need to call Genetics to schedule testing and I'm dragging my feet.  I know I need to do it, but it gives me anxiety to think about something being wrong so I keep avoiding it.

    Questions?

pregnancy GTKY: I know some people on this BMB have publicly announced already, some are thinking of how to do it, and some have it ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger yet....where are you in the announcement process and what are your ideas?  I'm with @jmn1985 and probably won't do any sort of public announcement.  I love looking at other peoples' announcements and think they're adorable, but I just hate being the center of attention. We just told our parents on Wednesday after our OB appt (over the phone since we live 10 hours away) and I made my H tell his parents I was asleep because I didn't want to hear all the gushing (yes, very bad DIL).

NBR GTKY: Did you have any weird food preferences as a child?  One thing that does come to mind is that I'd always order pepperoni pizza, then pick all the pepperoni off it.  I liked the taste of having it there, but didn't want to eat the actual pepperoni!
  • @MrsVP614 holy cow, all your appointments! That seems crazy.

    @Sugargirl1019 what was the name!?

@RedBreast35 looking back on the ice cube thing, I'm pretty sure my body was salt deprived and that's why I wanted to eat salt on my ice cubes. Plus it was in CA so eating ice cubes in the summer was always a go to. And I'm pretty sure our DD suspects something, just not the right thing. It's kinda sad actually, because I've been pretty much going straight to bed she thinks my H and I have been fighting and asked him if we're getting a divorce.  :'(  I can't wait to tell her thread truth so she doesn't have to be worried anymore. Thanks to my PGAL anxiety I want to wait until 2nd tri though.

  • @cheframsay omg, how heartbreaking! i hope you and your H are able to reassure her without telling her what's really going on until you're comfortable.  I can't remember how old she is. I think 4, but part of me is telling me that she's older, like, preteen....

OMG this killed me!  I totally understand wanting to wait until second tri but that must be so hard when she says that!!
  • @BigBadWolf12 she's 11, so definitely preteen

@RedBreast35 I couldn't believe it when my H told me she said that! I don't think we've ever done anything to lead her to belive that would happen. I kinda wondered if one of hers friends parents were splitting up and that's why she was wondering. I definitely made more of an effort to hang out with both of them after that, I've just been falling asleep in the living room more now.

@Sugargirl1019 well that's not too terrible! I was expecting more of a Cletus or something lol
