WTF Wednesday

What's got you WTF-ing today?

Mine: I don't understand people who can just walk in to work and be ready to go without stopping at their desk or anything. I need to go to my desk, check my email, etc.

Re: WTF Wednesday

  • @WombThereItIs Can hubby help? (Should you be spray painting anyway?) Or you can wait for the 70's to come back? I know what you mean about losing motivation. It's a daily battle!

@nda_roxybabe I think that just makes you more prepared for your day, aka you're a better employee.

My WTF is this 3 hour GTT!! On <5 hours of sleep. WTFFF?! I am so tired and hungry I could eat my own hand.

  • @nda_roxybabe I had this exact scenario this morning! I need time to get ready for the day when I get to work and for some reason an appointment was schedule for 8:30am, which is when I get here! I was super annoyed! I supposed this part of my WTF, along with why do people give attitude when you are just trying to let them know something? I went to tell our staff assistant something a tester said to me and she just kept being defensive and saying there's nothing we can do if the student tells us after. Yes, I am aware of this and I explained that to the student, however, I'm letting you know for the next time what happened and what I suggested be used to help minimize the distractions even more! WTF?!

  • Wtf to my Co worker. I work in a huge hospital it's 4 buildings all connected so when we are on portable x-rays we do a ton of walking. Anyway there is only 4 of us I'm pregnant the other lady is ready to retire and then two guys. This one guy stops doing portables to do this non time sensitive calibration to an x-ray plate leaving us all trying to keep up. I called him pissed

He offered but we both know if it doesn't come out perfect I'll be annoyed with him so it's better I do it myself. I figure if I paint outside it's no big deal. I repainted half my bedroom furniture a few months ago so a few drawer handles shouldn't be too bad in comparison!

Hope your GTT went well and you had an awesome lunch after. That test really sucks!

  • I just posted about this in the randoms thread...
I failed my 1 hour :( I was at 160 which is not even damn close.  I have to do the 3 hour.
  • WTF to myself and to Amazon. I am so stupid. I forwarded our mail to my parents address when we were in housing limbo. Last week I forwarded the mail to our new house from my parents. Yesterday I got a notification that my Amazon ordered were undeliverable. I called to find out why and stupid Amazon sent them through USPS instead of UPS so they were forwarded to Texas. However, dude from Amazon said he stopped the packages from being forwarded and I could pick them up today. Went to post office and they already resent them out to go to Texas. Ughh. I'm delivering here and I need my stuff.
  • WTF coworker. You're training me, yet I point out a mistake you made (worrying that I was doing something wrong) and you don't even say anything? No "oops" or "sorry, you're right, I was wrong" or even "good catch, I looked at that wrong"?

  • @WombThereItIs I find my motivation for baby/home projects comes in waves.  Hopefully you'll get some motivation back soon and be excited to finish.

I hope your test went well @jayandaplus and sorry you were miserable during.

@Yiggle09 that's super annoying, glad you called him out.

@baccorrea that is so frustrating!  Are you able to get the stuff sent back to you when it arrives in Texas?

WTF self.  I cannot get motivated at work.  I have so much to do and time is running out and I just can't bring myself to buckle down and work.  I have struggled with motivation this entire pregnancy but lately it has gotten baaaaaad.  I think it is a combination of being burnt out (I've worked at my job for six years and it is a very intense environment with crazy hours and I think I'm just done), being distracted by both baby and cancer stuff, and being so close to the finish line I just can't do it.  Normally I struggle with motivation from time to time, but if I end up wasting time I always get my act together later on in the week and make up the time I lost.  Now, that's just not happening.  But even though I can't motivate myself to work I still care and want to do a good job so I'm annoyed at myself and stressed.  Not a great combo.
  • WTF to people who are rude and don't say thank you... or even crack a little smile...

  • WTF to my husband, who woke me up at 5:30 this morning after I had had a shitty night with DS because he couldn't find his work pants, I asked if he had checked the wardrobe "yes, twice" I walked in, picked up a pair of jeans from the top of his clean washing. They weren't even under something! That man is blind -.-

  • @PartiallyDomesticated Husbands... Now when H cant find something I'm just like *shrug* you can find it.
Which makes me think of another WTF. He can never remember if he's taken a pill! Often at night he will take melatonin or sometimes tylenol PM and pretty much every time he asks me if he took the pill. I tell him I have no idea (??) so then he searches the bed/ floor for said pill. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it would appear he has taken it. He now makes a big announcement to me as he is taking it and I confirm to avoid this. Seriously though?!

  • @nda_roxybabe what? Does he like miss his mouth or just sit it down and forget or what? Like surely it's not that hard to just get it out of the packet and put it in your mouth?

  • @PartiallyDomesticated He sits down and forgets if he took it! I think its because he grabs it from our linen closet and then intends to walk over to the nightstand to take with water, but sometimes he doesn't need water and just takes it. That confuses him? I'm like dude, take the damn pill or don't.

  • @nda_roxybabe My husband is so similar in regards to locking doors and making sure he has his credit card after paying for something. He double checks both things everytime. I've never quite understood why he can't make a point of mentally checking the first time so he doesn't have to physically check it a second time.
  • I swear DH was probably lost before he married me, or he has just become more forgetful. That man looses everything. I don't know how many times I've been woken up at 430 because he can't find the neon fluorescent PT Belt. Put the damn thing away in the same spot and you won't loose it! And over the weekend it was packing for the field, which looks like a bomb went off in our basement and him scrambling to find everything. So frustrating!

WTF to people who come into the office sick? We now have an amazing epidemic of both the flu and strep throat making its way through the office.

ETA: I jumped the gun on hitting save. I don't understand the forgetful husband thing either. We can not physically leave the house without him either going back into the house for something he forgot, or having to drive back to check to see if the garage door is closed. Sigh.

  • @hp_momma for us it was his stupid beret for his class B's on "fancy dress fridays". May that thing burn in hell for how many times I was woken up to search for it.

I am not looking forward to the similar influx of morning uniform crises when he is in the process of updating his rank on everything and only has one current version of anything he needs. Demote yourself for a day, I don't care, I am tired!

And WTF cravings. I want to want a vegetable but nooooope.

  • Haha, clearly no place for pill taking logic in his world.
We don't drink our tap water so he can't do next to the sink. He just needs to carry the pill to his nightstand where his glass is and take it, such a weirdo. He's great at remembering pretty much everything else so I really don't get it.

When he switched units (he had to write his unit on the belt) I made him buy 2 new PT belts so he could leave one in his truck! And stop waking me up!
I may have solved our loss of uniforms/pieces/crap dilemma with our new armoir from IKEA to replace his Army closet. I'll have to take a picture of the beautiful orginazation when I get back home. Field gear in the basement is still its own hell though.

Ughhhh the rank change is SO annoying. And freaking expensive to update everything! Dress uniforms are a nightmare in general, he's always missing something ridiculous and no matter how many times I remind him to update it and check WAY before an event or anything he waits til the last possible moment.
Are you stalking me? It like you just knew he had to go buy new ASU pants for a conference he leaves for this Friday. Thank goodness I reminded him to try on the pants this past weekend!

Haha it's always a good guess that something new has to be bought for a uniform!

  • +1 for a husband that loses EVERYTHING! I keep a hook behind our front door for keys. Open the door, step inside, hang up your keys. Simple, right? Nope. Throw the keys somewhere and then search in panic when we have somewhere to be. And the wallet? Take it out of your pants and place it on the dresser, maybe? Nope, just throw that wherever too. Wake up the cranky wife at 4:30 am because you have to leave for work and can't find it. I love that man so much....but he also drives me nuts

So frustrating. That happened a month ago to us when I updated our address but wanted the package (toddler pillow) to go to our old place since we hadn't moved yet. It worked out though because I got a refund, reordered it and still got the original package a week later. So two for the price of one!

  • +1 To the husbands losing stuff!
I run the paperwork aspect of my husband's business and the best is when he calls me when I'm at my 9-5 job and asks me where a certain piece of paper or a title to a machine/vehicle or whatever is! Like I can tell where it is from 45 minutes away.  I have a few places I tell him to look, but he usually just messes everything up when he is looking for it anyways.
  • WTF to this cold/cough or whatever DD has. The last two nights she struggled to sleep because she would start to fall asleep then get into a coughing fit and wake up crying. The first night was worse since she ended up puking from coughing so hard. Picking up some benadryl and vapor rub later for a hopefully easier night for her. Poor baby girl

  • @Louise_Belcher I love your sassy mom! I feel the same way though. DH isn't too bad about losing his own things, but he has NO CLUE about where household things go. Almost five years in our current apartment and he still puts dishes away in weird places. Or "where's the spare soap?" (The kind only he uses.)
  • My DH isn't bad at misplacing things, but that man cannot for the life of him remember where dishes go or how to load the dishwasher. I'm not one of those crazy people that goes nuts if things aren't done exactly my way, but we have the smallest dishwasher ever and if you don't load it a certain way you can only get half the amount in it. Every week we go over the same thing and he promises he'll remember next time lol.

My WTF is anti-vaxxers. I found out today there is an outbreak of mumps in my city. I discovered at the beginning of my pregnancy that I no longer have any immunity to the MMR vaccine, so now I don't want to leave the house.

  • I have 2....

#1-WTF ALWAYS being congested!! I have really bad seasonal allergies and I was hoping that during pregnancy they would get better... They are worse!! I'm soo sick of the sinus pressure and the sore throats! Since I always feel sick I'm never hungry, then when I don't eat I get hangry and really weak... It's an awful cycle! I just want to breathe like a normal person, and the scariest part is allergy season isn't even here yet.... I'm screwed!

#2- To the student who approached me 1st period today and asked me to switch his math class to an easier one... I clearly explained that we do not switch math classes because he has chosen to not put forth effort, never does homework, doesn't take notes... I told him that he is capable of doing the math, that his choices he has made unfortunately does make it difficult and he will need to put in some extra effort and time to catch up.  He took a quiz in math today, finished it with me at the end of the day, he didn't even try, use his notes, even with prompting and offering to do a few review problems he refused.  As he turned it in, he said "see, I need an easier math class"... GRRRR So glad he obviously understood our previous conversation.

@hp_momma I feel your pain. And mine wears his dress uniform so infrequently that we never know how the pants will fit. And it's always updated at the very last minute.
  • WTF: DH doing the dishes at midnight and waking me up, me telling DH I will throat punch him if he does that again, storm waking me up at 3 a.m., dog scared of storm and sleeps rest of the night in bed, test, class, and having DH tell me I look like I've been hit by a truck this evening.

Ugh, I need a nap. Happy Wednesday!
  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose husband can never find anything and asks me ridiculous questions. Like... I didn't know I was your mom??

WTF to the weather where I live. It has been all over the place, we had horrible storms last night that kept my dog up and thus kept me up. And then today the temperature dropped like 25 degrees and the wind is raging and its just nasty. I'm done. And our daylillies and tulips started coming up because they thought it was spring, and now I feel like they're going to die... :(
  • WTF nose... as I lay here winding down from my shift and catching up on the bump, my nose starts bleeding (so ironic as I was reading the WTF thread)! Ugh, now I gotta roll out of bed and stuff it with toilet paper.
