Weekly Randoms 2/27

Re: Weekly Randoms 2/27

  • @mrsmgsee People just say dumb stuff to pregnant women no matter what. The opposite of the "moving fast" comment, DH's aunt assumed that since we've been married a decade we just didn't want kids, and would have had them already if we wanted them. We've been trying for four years, so she was lucky this was communicated via phone, and not in person, because I was ready to let her have it! A acquaintance also said he was happy for us, but "had never though of us as kid-type people." My pregnancy rage cannot handle these kinds of idiots right now. :expressionless:

  • I just saw a pregnancy announcement on Facebook. It was super cute. The couple has been married less than a year and more than one person responded with "FINALLY." Seriously? The baby is due before their first anniversary. How quickly do people expect everyone to get pregnant that they think pregnancy was a long time coming less than a year after the wedding?

DH and I have been together for almost 8 years and married for 3 , we started TTC about 8months after we got married. we have some people telling us not to rush enjoy your time together...I'm like uhhh we've enjoyed almost a decade together, we good. And others asking when we are going to have kids? (Frustrating after 3 losses)

I think it depends on how long theyve been together before they got married. Like if it they have in total only been together for a very short period of time then the finally is odd, but if theyve been together for years and finally tied the knot then it's not as odd. Idk that's my thoughts.
  • @Sugargirl1019 @daniellelynette thanks girls. I was just in a mood and then the beer spill put me over the edge. It was a great concert, and would have been amazing had we been in a different section. He played from 8:30 - 11:50 with a 10 minute intermission.
  • @Sugargirl1019 I'm so excited for you!!!! I have to wait till April 21st
  • I ordered 10 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from my sisters friend who was helping a little girl whose mom refused to take her anywhere to sell her cookies... now my ten boxes of cookies are at my sisters house.... three hours away  :'(:'(:'( I am so sad. Also she still has some of my maternity clothes and I'm a little nervous to ask again because I don't want her to think I'm bugging her. She tends to get mad at me really easily. Story of my life. That's a whole different thread tho. I'm just sad about my Girl Scout cookies :(

@daniellelynette Welp, we can throw out any plans I had this weekend, I will be couch surfing and watching HP! <3

    eta spelling...
  • Also just in case anyone is wondering, it's a Harry Potter weekend on "Freeform" I still like to think of it as ABC family but whatever lol
It will always be ABC family!
  • @lahearn18 yaaasss! They just finished the chamber of secrets :) I cried when he gave Dobby his sock lmao!
  • @daniellelynette i always cry with Doby moments  :'(
  • sidenote...is it just me or have a lot of our threads died down? i feel like there used to be a lot more posting and stuff. Maybe people have gone back in hiding until after 1st trimester?

So my 4 yo DD lit her hair on fire today while I was making lunch today...that was fun (wasn't on fire, just the ends burnt, boy did it smell!). I thought it scared her bc she was hysterical afterwards, but no, she was back on the counter 20 min later.

@lahearn18 I thought the same thing. I've been super busy at work lately so I haven't been on much, if at all, during the week, but it doesn't even seem like I miss much.

Also I'm currently eating a fruit by the foot while watching the notebook  :)
  • I feel like it's been a bit slow too. Maybe it would help if those of us who are regulars posted more gtky type stuff? Idk. I just know for myself, exhaustion has hit me like a ton of bricks this week.

  • I also feel like our board has died down. I wonder how many of us will even be left when September rolls around!
  • I feel like it has slowed down a lot... I mean, yay for no drama but we're practically dead over here.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • We need some CPR lol.
  • All the hotbutton topics aren't hot with us. I'm glad we don't have drama but it's kind of funny how chill everyone is lol
  • Maybe a thread on crap in laws say would be pretty active? Or an after dark type thread?
  • @daniellelynette I loved draw something but no one would play with me... (my friends are clearly not unlike this board, lol)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @Becky012016 what is an after dark type thread? I wouldn't have much for the inlaws, DHs mom and step dad are awesome and we don't hear from the rest of his family.

@HollyGolightly09 "My friends are clearly not unlike this board" that actually had me laughing out loud lol! I love draw something but DH is the only one who will play with me. One time he literally wrote "nut pie" for the word pecan lmao. And I drew a red bull that had a really disgraceful red cow on it lol. I also love words with friends! I'm not very good but I like it lol.
  • @daniellelynette is like a sexcapades discussion; nsfw
  • @Becky012016 ohhhhhhhhhhhh lol I'm facepalming myself lol. I feel like that thread could get really funny and awesome lol

I haven't felt sick all day and actually thought maybe the nausea was leaving me alone... I am currently sitting in the car trying not to vomit, waiting for DH and my nephew to finish eating at the restaurant we came to.

  • That sucks @HollyGolightly09, I'm sorry.

Oh I'd have plenty for a weekly in-law rant. Especially because I'm particularly skilled at never really letting anything go  :D

Ditto. The 1st visit to meet the family...my MIL (then just boyfriend's mom) made ethnic remarks about my family...to my face in front of EVERYONE. DH dragged her out of the room yelling at her. She claims ignorance, but everyone in the room (all his family) was shocked. She always is asking how my grandma and family is doing all the time...and it grinds my gears because she said some effed up stuff about people she'd never met at the time....i don't think I'll ever forgive her...it was almost 8 years ago
  • I'm still here! Work today.. so I totally missed HP!!! :(

  • Ugh, I'm in your boat, @HollyGolightly09. I've been feeling better this week- only taking my nausea medicine once a day, just a little nauseated in the evening, no vomiting for almost 10 days, eating fairly normally. Then this evening it hit me hard. I'm so sick, and I've thrown up twice. No bueno, hormones.

  • @Sugargirl1019 I'm so excited for you!!!! I have to wait till April 21st

Ugh.... I'm sorry! It sucks. I have felt sick for 9 weeks... I think that's good. Give it a rest.

  • Weekly random, ummm I thought I get something hard on my lower abdomen and was pretty excited because I knew that was my bump but now I tried to feel it and it's hardly there, I mean instead of growing, feels like it's shrinking...
  • Idk why only half of my post got posted, I am 11 weeks and 1 day today! Any of you felt your bump at 10 weeks? And at what point did you feel your bump?

I am mobile. This explains everything.

I'm almost 14 and I'm just now maybe feeling firmness right above my pelvic bone. When I do my dopper, I still have to have the doppler *rightupnext* to the pubic bone and angle it under still.

According to fundal height articles, practitioners start feeling and measuring fundal height anywhere between 12-14 weeks. I think 10 is a bit early to definitely be feeling the fundus.

  • @shreyaR you probably felt poop. My uterus (12 weeks) is about 2 finger widths above my public bone but this is also my second pregnancy. It's normal after a full term birth to have the uterus rise out of the pelvis earlier by a week or two.
