Any appointments this week? Tuesday I have a drs appt and then my GD screening
Symptoms? Gas, heartburn like crazy, back pain, movement
Cravings? Nothing specific, just all food.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm nervous for my GD screening. I'm also getting pretty uncomfortable which is bad because I still have the whole last trimester to go! I feel like I'm coming down with something, and I could have been exposed to strep the other day, which I'm praying it's not.
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? Drugs! Deep breathing, idk I haven't really thought much about it yet.
How big is baby? Asparagus, a coconut, and a foam finger. Haha
Any appointments this week? Next weekend is our next
Symptoms? Normal heart burn and right rib pain. Hip pain and lower back pain. Boobs grew AGAIN and now have stretch marks under them I don't know why but that makes me irrationally sad I feel like. Tired and sore just all the time.
Cravings? Nothing really. Still more aversions than actual craving
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm becoming paranoid that our next mfm appointment (2 weeks) will reveal that the baby's cyst hasn't resolved. It's a dacryocystocele and it's a benign health issue but I'm in my head about people asking about it. (It shows as a blueish/blackish lump near the eye) I'm worried it's going to upset me that people will focus on it. I don't know why this is bothering me so much. We've already talked with an ENT and are fine with the actual health of the baby. I'm just hoping it's resolved and my worrying about getting upset about people asking is mute.
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? We hired a doula so she'll help us. She offers massage which I'm hoping I'll like in labor. (I love it normally) I'm basically trying to also think of what I like when I've been my absolute sickest. I know they're not directly relatable but hoping those approaches will help and it's all I have to draw on. I'm bringing my laptop with Friends on it which always helps me laugh and calms me down mentally. I'll be bringing my fan. My doula will help with yoga poses and positions which I've been doing since October. I also intend to use the shower. It's weird but when I'm super sick or hungover I like to lay down under the shower. Id imagine I would like it in labor too.

@sarah0985 will the cyst eventually go away if it is there after birth? Or something you'll need to surgically remove if it's not gone? i don't think it's silly at all to be worried about that.
Any appointments this week? Nope! I'll have my GTT next week, yay
Symptoms? Peeing a lot and starting to waddle. I have to actively focus on walking normal.
Cravings? Reese's eggs. Why are they so much better in that shape?!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: I'm already feeling quite uncomfortable in my clothes... it's gonna be a long couple months. Rave: I'm finally getting into a routine with exercising regularly and it's really helping me feel better both physically and mentally!
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? I went in with no plan at all last time because I knew I wanted an epidural. Well, I ended up laboring for nearly 10 hours before I got it and just had to wing it with lots of walking and tub time. This time I'm looking more into pain management so I feel more prepared. I'm reading a book on the Bradley Method but not sure I'm gonna stick to any one thing. Just want to have some resources to help!
Any appointments this week? Yup! On Friday I get to see the doctor, take my GTT, get my TDaP, and a lovely Rhogam shot! How thrilling...
Symptoms? nausea, extreme fullness after eating...
Cravings? grapefruit, mini chewy sweat tarts
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green
Rants/Raves/Questions? I always have something to put here until it comes to actually write this thing.
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? I asked this because we took our first class this week and it was the first time was done so way more information than time. So far I'm thinking some type of ball and shower or bath.
I totally fell asleep after writing mine earlier and forgot some comments! @sarah0985 I totally understand if you were to be upset. We rely too much on how other looks. @livin541 I'm pretty certain it is the peanut butter to chocolate ratio that makes the eggs so yummy. Not going to lie, I've had this conversation way too many times and that's the conclusion that has always been drawn!
Symptoms? SO TIRED. My energy crashes at 2-3pm and it's hard to recover. Getting harder to turn over in bed, it's like a four point turn. Also, this week I've had a few instances of cramping that I'm trying to keep an eye on. They aren't consistent, but certainly alarming. Can't tell if digestive or baby related.
Cravings? Philly cheesesteak, which is hard to find high quality here. We ended up making some at home and I wish I had 10 more
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green. People are always surprised that we aren't finding out, but I thought it wasn't out of the norm to wait.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: Just wish I was able to regulate my energy better mid afternoon. Rave: I have been teaching myself how to knit and have been on a roll with a baby blanket. So excited to see how it turns out.
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? we are doing a water birth again, and plan to labor at home as long as possible. I have the same midwife as last time (who I adore) and we'll be in a private birthing cottage on a vineyard, like we did with DD. Environment definitely helps. It helped last time to vocalize in low tones, that's the main thing I used to keep myself on track, low, deep moans
@jens_hoes it depends on its situation basically. The general treatment is massage to stimulate it to drain. But if that doesn't work, it's too big, or it becomes infected; they go up through the nasal cavity to drain it. It didn't bother me really when they first found it (a. It's nothing serious. B. Nothing we could do) but I just don't want a barrage of questions of "what's wrong with your baby?" Type questions even if they're just curious and not malicious. It's catching me off guard how much that part is bothering me.

GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? I'm thinking binge watching something funny like John Oliver. Maybe look into breathing exercises. Also keep telling myself it'll all be over soon.
@OmegaRose3 hang in there. Hope the supplements help. I've been struggling with anxiety lately and I know other mamas have too. Maybe we should start a thread for check ins for extra support. We're all here for you!

GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? An epidural, and conjuring all the zen yoga-ness I have in me.

Symptoms? Low back/hip, heartburn, so tired, little swollen every now and then but I think that's because it still gets so hot in our room at night!
Cravings? Nothing really, but after talking about french fries and Wendy's frostys Friday at work, I went and got one after work and then Saturday when out with my mom haha such a great combo!
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: still annoyed with the house stuff (long post in the weekend chat). Raves: H keeps giving me foot/back massages and asks if I want one if I even mention that I'm sore.
GTKY: What methods are you using to stay relaxed during childbirth? Drugs...give me all the drugs! Seriously though, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the epidural especially with how my low back is. We haven't gone to any classes yet, but I'm sure some breathing techniques will be helpful and we'll probably bring the laptop to watch netflix or something. Those are usually good distractions

@MTB16 with my first I failed the first one and passed the 3 hr. I had no family history either and my starting pre preg weight was 135 and I am 5'10. They will most likely just ask you to go GD diet if you do not do the 3 hr. Hoping you get a better answer!
So today at my prenatal, my EDD was recalculated based off growth measurements from the recent ultrasound, which means my ticker change date got updated to Thursdays. Sorry I can't play here anymore but I'll still lurk. You ladies are still my weekend pals.
