I posted a link to the catfish thread in Stranger Danger and realized that people who are new to the Bump may not have experienced the joy that is my favorite TB thread ever: butt baby. I felt it was my civic duty to share it. DS has his first daycare chocolate fundraiser. We took a box of the Cadbury easter chocolates home. I better just pay for the entire box now, who am I fooling?
Ugh, I'm home sick with the cold this DH was so thoughtful to share with me and now my cramps are back with a vengeance.

I love seeing old threads where I post something witty. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm in a town 2 hours north, spending the night in a hotel for work. DH has a work meeting even further north tomorrow, so is driving up tonight. He happened to be passing through the town I'm in so we had dinner at Olive Garden. I was craving IHOP but he shot that suggestion down.
Dinner was nice, I had salad and breadsticks. Now I'm driving to IHOP to get pancakes to eat in the hotel.
I just read the entire catfish post, @bluejeanbabi05, and now I'm terrified to post anything lol I am super close with my May2015 group so I know how awesome this board CAN be. But you've got me on high stranger danger alert!!!
@mommac2017 I feel the same way after reading that! It's like, I know that stuff happens and I am pretty careful about what I put out there, but after reading real catfishing posts, I immediately think back to every time I posted something that was potentially a bad idea.
I've been MIA for the last week- I've been so sick, which was not the case with DD. I feel totally defeated because I just eat whatever crap I can stomach. Blahhh.
Also, my in-laws just left after visiting for the long weekend, and my house is now a disaster. They are actually wonderful in-laws, but they definitely do not appreciate my need for neatness and cleanliness. I'm looking forward to my mom visiting next month, because she is where I get my neat-freak-ness from. She'll probably clean and organize more than I could imagine to do.
Last random- I set my phone on a little "purse shelf" in a bathroom this weekend, and the whole shelf busted, and dropped my phone 5 feet onto the tile floor. Needless to say, it is not only shattered, but the screen glitches out and it is not usable. Here's to hoping ATT is quick with the replacement!
My girls had dance last night ( as always) and I had to work the desk. We didn't get home until almost 9. They had homework (1st and 4th grade) and got to bed around 9:30. Tonight they have rehearsals to gear up for this weekends competition from 7:30-9. I have to take a teammate home . I won't get home until probably close to 10. Thankfully they have time to get homework done before dance tonight. They both compete only Saturday for this one but that's going to be a 5am wake up. 6 am leave , and 8 am start time. I'm exhausted!!!! And I can't tell anyone why I look hungover and keep yawning!! I just want to scream, I'm pregnant!!
I'm desperately trying to potty train my 2 year old before 2.0 arrives. We watched this little video on YouTube when we go potty. Guess what song is stuck in my head today? "Do, Do the potty dance"
By the way, anyone got any tricks they want to share?
omg the butt baby thread. i had seen this a couple months ago. @Cythe you definitely win for best comments in that thread. I damn near lost it when you asked if she was pooping on the test.
@mrs_fogue While I would love to tell you I am an IRL tv mom, alas, I am *not*. Just a regular ole' competitive dance mom. Our team actually did compete against them 3 years ago (and was on TV), but we had to be invited to go, and while the judging was real, the show was not. The girls danced their routines twice. Once for judging, and again for the shots. I can attest and tell you my girls' team parents are awesome. We have a few wack-a-doodles, but like any family, there's always somebody haha.

Ditto. My 2.5yo has absolutely no interest in the potty.

canonmom413 I always wondered about the "realness" of the judging. I mean we obviously don't see all the performances, but I do wonder. I would probably hate to be in a competition that they are at.
@mrs_fogue@jessafishy us too! DD is 2.5. She's been peeing in the potty consistently with no issue for a month now, but won't stop pooping in her underwear. It's driving me crazy.
eta - the only thing that worked for consistency with peeing was a serious rewards program. She had a sticker chart, and she'd get one sticker for each pee. We bought a calico critter family for her and kept them in the box where she could see them. Once she filled a line on the potty chart (10 stickers), she got one of the family members. Super intense but once we started, she was trained almost instantly.

I did just buy him some underwear. We will see if that is a motivator. I'm not pushing too hard yet because I know it's so much easier if you wait until they are ready.

@jessafishy definitely true. I should clarify that we could tell DD was totally ready before we started the rewards program - she understood, would tell us when she had to go, and would hold it for hours if she didn't have a diaper on. Her problem was just actually using the potty consistently, and I think she was a little scared of it.

@bluejeanbabi05@Cythe I feel like absolute crap today. Thank you for introducing me to this thread. it has literally made my day. @Cythe, you are so funny!!
DD tells me all the time that she needs to potty, we sit on the potty but rarely does she ever go. We've tried the reward system of Chocolate kisses but maybe I need to up my game. I too think she is scared of the potty.
@mrs_fogue Ugh, we've been trying to potty train our son who will be 3 next month and does not like sitting on the big potty or his Thomas the Train potty. We've tried bribing with candy, cookies, etc. every once in a while he will agree. He even hates wearing his underwear. He will take them off, open a diaper and place it on the floor, then lay in it telling me he wants a diaper. It's so frustrating. Sorry I don't have any advice! Good luck!
Add me to the potty training woes! We briefly started in January, but then had to work on transitioning her out of her crib (she started being ninja baby and climbing the rails and jumping off the edge) and figured one change was enough. So, now that we are settled in her toddler bed I know we need to pick up on potty training. She's gone a couple times (potty) in it, but I feel like it's pure luck. Right now it's like she goes in her diaper, and THEN tells me she needs to use the potty so she goes and sits on it forever with no luck. My next step is to buy her some underwear (likely Frozen themed because Elsa is suddenly the shit around here) and just deal with it until she figures it out....but we are constantly having people over and doing stuff lately. I need to schedule a week where we don't leave the house or have anyone over and potty train is all we do.
Guys!!! I'm on my way to my girls' first competition of the season!! Theyre just doing their solos and my oldests duet, but I'm so freaking excited!!!
Heres the the bad part. MS is getting worse and today of all days it hits me a little harder than usual. Still not throwing up ( yet) but omg I feel awful. It's probably anxiety mixed in. Pray I make it without vomiting and ugly crying my eyes out because face it, my cute babies on stage is cry worthy.
So this is crazy. My best friend is 21 wks along, she had the harmony test at 10 or 11 weeks, having a boy. Announced on fb, name picked out, nursery halfway decorated. Ff to her 20wk ultrasound yesterday, unmistakably a girl Apparently the lab they did their blood work at had a huge firing of staff last month due to test mixups!
eta: and about the nursery- they put a cute sticker of the boy name on the wall already!

Whoa! How does that even happen? I was under the impression the harmony test was more accurate than the 20 week ultrasound!
Thats so crazy!
ETA: I see now, test mixups. Reading things in their entirety is usually super helpful.
Actually, maybe- it's Logan, that's a girls name too, right? @feeislove
I knew a girl in college named Logan!

Last night out of no where...kid has like exorcist vomiting, as my DH stands there freaking out I'm running for towels as it SEEPS down side of recliner on love seat sofa. Explaining HOW to react before I up chuck myself. SMH, men....then today I walked in to our room and had to run he let one rip and figured I wouldn't be in there...I lost it...like bathroom or OUTSIDE no one wants to taste your upcoming bowl movements
So then today kid's temp going up and down, he laid in my lap at a birthday party it was outside but we were told PARK and she changed it last minute to near pool....kid was so sad no park to play at. He has a tea party to go to tomorrow for the little girl who claims him as her boyfriend. I think I put WAY too much effort in this gift lol.

*edit because it deleted half of my statement* Do we have a secret real life Dance Mom?
