Well, I'm adding buffalo chicken quesadillas to my plans, now. Thanks for that idea, @Jens_Hoes. We've got Tomato Basil soup for a few days (one batch can usually end up being at least 3 meals). I bought the makings for a shrimp stir fry, as well, I'm just not sure when that will actually get made (so lazy).
Similar to @ChristinaWild, my hubbs made a ginormous batch of chili (with ground turkey) yesterday, and that'll last awhile. So funny, @Jens_Hoes, I also bought a fresh pizza/bread dough this week, to make a buffalo chicken calzone. Can't wait! A stir-fry is a good idea <trying to think of what's in the freezer>...
M-Whole grain spaghetti with meatballs and marinara T-Bowling league =snack bar dinner. They have everything though. W-Lemon Chicken and sauteed zucchini T-Asian meatballs with green onions and medley rice (brown, red and quinoa) F-Usually our night to eat out! I'm thinking local smokehouse.
M - Burgers and smashed red potatoes T - Crock pot Shredded Chicken Tacos W -Garlic Chicken with zucchini Th - Crock pot Chicken Tortilla Soup and Mini Quesadillas to dip in F- Order Pizza or go out - haven't decided
There were several other things I wanted to ask about but they don't sound GD-compatible so I'll wait for now. I also can't remember what we are having for dinner this week because I'm stuck at my desk and the list is on my fridge.
ETA: Looks like it's cauliflower soup and sandwiches tonight. And then I need to go grocery shopping for the rest of the week.
All you ladies who have the whole week planned are amazing. I've never been a weekly meal planner. I'll usually have an idea or 1 or 2 things I'll make that I may need to buy groceries for, but otherwise I just wing the rest of the nights with what we have on hand. H also cooks 1-2 nights a week. I do have half a cabbage left, so I'll probably make a Satay Chicken Noodle Salad at some point this week.
@SWE2 Seriously, can I come over for HP cookies, too!?
You guys have given me some great ideas for next week!
M- Mexican stuffed shells T- Crockpot french dip, sweet potato fries and zucchini W- One pot chicken thighs and dirty rice F- Sausage and Peppers with grilled veggies
Wow! A whole week of planned meals! Talk about life goals!
Tonight we had veggie stir fry with brown rice. I work tomorrow so who knows...
I cannot wait until I am able to transfer to a "normal" hour position. I am currently 3:30p-12:00a which means dinner in a break room instead of with MH & DS. I just applied for a 10a-6:30p position so FX I get it (all based in seniority though
@Cubslove12 I still can't bring myself to eat fish. I have some amazing cod filets in the freezer and every time I think of cooking them my stomach starts to turn
M-fend for yo'self (we had a viewing for Grandpa right in the middle of dinner time) T- chicken fettuccine W- slow cooker roast w/ mashed potatoes and homemade rolls (DH birthday dinner)
You all are amazing! I've never been good at weekly menu planning, but I hope to start doing it once we move! I'm pretty lucky right now because we do live with my parents and my mom is home before I am so dinner is ready when H and I get home. Definitely going to miss that since I'm not much of a cook! Or should I say I don't like to cook haha I do cook a little more on the weekends though and contribute to buying the groceries, just not planning the meals all the time. Last night we had one of my favorite meals: cheese tortellini, chicken, and veggies with a simple EVOO and garlic sauce...I love it! I think there's some chicken tortellini in there too, but I prefer the cheese ones.
