Re: Saturday Ticker Change 2/18

  • How far along are you? 22 weeks!

    How big is baby? Coconut

Appointment updates? Ultrasound with a Perinatologist Thursday morning, hoping for some answers.

Any new symptoms or changes? Heartburn. I also find myself uncomfortable in any one position for too long. I got a new chair at work which is great, but I still find myself going for a stroll down the hall, standing up when i'm on the phone etc.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: after I finish my coffee I am going to pain the nursery! I'm so excited to start making real progress on getting the room ready. The new carpet we ordered is being installed March 2nd! Will post pictures in the nursery thread later!

Not a question, but I didn't know 24 weeks was viability, so I am really looking forward to getting there! Only 2 more weeks.

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were a kid (and how has that changed now)? I've always said 2, DH has always said 3. Now that I am pregnant for the first time I just want to focus on this one. I have no idea how long after this one we will wait before trying again. I want to see how things go once our little lady is here.

  • For those with an EDD of 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, and 6/24!

How far along are you? 25 Weeks!

How big is baby? A head of cauliflower

Appointment updates? Nothing until March 08th

Any new symptoms or changes?  Swelling started in the last few days.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone else experiencing pain in their back around where there kidneys should be?  I know mine sit higher than the average person and I know baby can't reach to kick me there so it's definitely not him. Been having a bad feeling these last few days that something is up but I just don't know what. Mom had really bad pregnancies with my siblings and I so I'm not sure if I'm just over analyzing everything.

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were a kid (and how has that changed now)? (Stolen from Friday) When I was a kid I didn't want kids. Realized after my friend had one that I wasn't afraid of having kids but I was always afraid of the parents. Now I want two, three depending on what our second one will be (boy or girl) and if we find it too busy with just two!
  • @RaeR144 When in doubt call you doctor! Could be nothing - but if you are worried it could give you peace of mind.

  • How far along are you? 23 weeks!!!!

How big is baby? An ear of corn lol

Appointment updates? Not till the 2nd

Any new symptoms or changes?  Lots of insomnia and anxiety. My dr suggested I try Tylenol pm

Rants/Raves/Questions? Time is flying by too fast! Is anyone else getting stressed?

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were a kid (and how has that changed now)? (Stolen from Friday) I wanted a ton. I used to draw my future family portraits and it looked more like a family reunion ha. Going into marriage I said I wanted 4, and everyone was like "why don't you try one first." Right now I honestly feel like "ok, how soon can we do this again?" DH and I were talking last night about which month we should start trying for #2. I kind of want to be a baby factory for a few years then close up shop.
  • @knottie42089123 yes, right there with you being stressed. I thrive of getting things done and that's when I feel better. So I'm slowly chipping away at the to-do list. One thing at a time.

How big is baby? Head of cauliflower

Appointment updates? Just had one yesterday and all is good. My next one isn't until March 16th when I do the glucose tolerance test. Definitely looking forward to putting that BEHIND me!

Any new symptoms or changes? My pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel has started flaring up again and I haven't been able to sleep well in 3 days now. I pass out from about 10-2 (but I toss and turn constantly) and then I wake up in so much pain that I have to get out of bed and can no longer be horizontal. I've tried moving around a bit and then lying back down but the numbness/tingles and then full on aching arm pain start up again within 10 minutes. I don't know what to do. I'm already wearing wrist splints to bed, which used to help, but they don't anymore. And the midwife yesterday said unfortunately there isn't much I can do about it. I hope it just kind of comes and goes and doesn't stick around for the rest of my pregnancy!

Rants/Raves/Questions? DH and I are getting excited for our baby shower! It's on March 11th, the day I hit 28 weeks (and the 3rd trimester). I know it's earlier than most have their showers but it was the only time my mom could fly out for it (and she's the host). DH and I picked a cake design today and went to our local bakery to order it. It's so cute and making me SO excited!

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were a kid (and how has that changed now)? I always knew I wanted at least 2. That hasn't really changed, but now that I know that we have 6 more frozen embryos, I'm feeling tempted to have more than 2. DH doesn't feel that way though, and he really just wants 2. I know that financially we will be able to do so much more for 2 children than if we have more, and I really do want to be able to give our kids the world without having to sacrifice too much. I guess we'll see what the future brings though! I certainly don't want to wait too long before having #2, so we may start the process up again when this baby is around a year old or so!

@graceriesz So exciting that you're starting to paint! Can't wait to see all your progress with the nursery!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 sorry to hear about the carpel tunnel. Hope it goes away soon so you can get some shut eye! My right toes have been tingly all day today, which I read is a pregnancy symptom...ugh!

  • How far along are you? 25 Weeks

How big is baby? Head of Cauliflower or baseball glove

    Appointment updates? Ultrasound Monday

Any new symptoms or changes?  Difficulty getting comfortable at night to sleep.

Rants/Raves/Questions? @wifeinraleigh28  I am also not looking forward to the glucose test. I am sure we will schedule that next week ugh lol.

GTKY: How many kids did you want when you were a kid (and how has that changed now)? (Stolen from Friday) I don't really remember how many I wanted. I feel like I always wanted 2. Now that I am pregnant with #2 I have told every one I a m not sure if I am done.

@graceriesz we are painting this weekend too. I am excited to start getting things done.

Anyone on here planning on taking child birth classes? I plan I'm taking a one-day class that kind of goes over the process of Labor and breathing techniques. And then I want to sign my son up for siblings class right now all the dates don't work out for us so I'm hoping the ones they scheduled in March or April will be perfect. I might also take a breastfeeding class again.
  • @tmrussell We signed up for a child birth class. There were a couple different options but we picked an intensive all-weekend long class (rather than going one evening a week for like 6 weeks). Since we're newbies we wanted to take the full class. Also signed up for breastfeeding, caring for a newborn, and infant CPR. A sibling class for your son sounds like a great idea!

@graceriesz Yeah the tingly toes sounds pregnancy-related too. So much extra fluid build up and just so much going on with our bodies right now. I'm definitely looking forward to bringing my daughter into the world and then not being pregnant anymore for a bit :)

  • @tmrussell hope your painting goes well! Day 1 went well for us, but I'm way more tired than I thought I would be. DH is able to help tomorrow, so I'm hoping we can finish everything.

I'd like to take a few classes as well. I have to research what's available.
