Fetal Dopplers

Hi all,

I am a FTM who is a perpetual worrier. I don't know about you, but the waiting period in between appointment dates has been driving me insane! I start to worry if my little one is ok, comfy, or being active. So last week I bought the coolest thing ever--a fetal Doppler! it's called a womb music heartbeat monitor made by wusic. Ever since I bought it, it has given me peace of mind. I thought I would share this with you guys just in case there are other worrierers out there.

  • Yes. Fetal dopplers are a thing that exist.

  • You could have saved $20 by buying a Sonoline B

  • I love my doppler.
  • Im too afraid I couldn't find the HB and would freak the f out. We got one in my last trimester with DS for when he wasn't being active. I hated poking my belly to get him to move when I hadn't felt him in a while. We had issues finding the HB then and I was like 35 weeks. Took that shit right back to BRU.
  • @dmbfan46835 I didn't but one with DS cause I was terrified of not being able to find the HB and freaking out on a daily basis. Yesterday I ordered the Sonoline B I think it will be good for DS to hear the heartbeat, I still scared though!

  • @britvahok keep me posted if it works!!
  • @britvahok @dmbfan46835 I have the sonoline b and use it A LOT bc of PGAL brain. It's stressful finding the HB for the first time, but I found that finding your artery (I think that's what it is) and moving slightly over towards the center of my belly and rotating the wand at every angle helped me find the HB- It's actually a lot lower down than I would have thought. Also making sure I have enough ultrasound gel on my belly helps. Now that I know where it is, I can find it almost immediately every time bc baby is still so small and not moving around like later in pregnancy. I'd also recommend not relying on the HB counter on there bc it's never right. I count the # of beats in 15 seconds and multiplying by 4 and it's been close to what's measured at the Dr's. Good luck!!

I literally lol'ed at this, especially at your prediction of getting banned that you made earlier this week. And the fact that this topic was brought up in the past...
  • @britvahok @dmbfan46835 I ordered one as well on Friday. I wasn't going for the same reason, I'm so afraid of not finding the baby's hb, but I was hooked after hearing the heart beat at my appointment Tuesday. My Dr actually offered to show me how to try to find it so I'm hoping I can.

  • I have the sonoline B off of babydoppler.com I think. Came super fast and works really well. Mine found it at 11 weeks. I'd say one warning is baby will be lower than you think this early. Does anyone know how safe it is? I try to only use it if I go out for a run and use it after because I'm PGAL and paranoid.

If I hadn't recognized her username I would have thought this was an ad.. I'm picturing one of those really exaggerated infomercials.

  • I love my fetal Doppler but I had to resist the urge to try too early in this pregnancy. I heard it consistently at 11 weeks. For me it's a blessing!
