Hi all, I'm new to Friday ticker change! I was a Sunday ticket change until our ultrasound yesterday where we found out baby was a few days ahead. Due date changed from the 10th to the 8th! We are 11 weeks today :)

    How big is baby?
As big as a lime :)

    Upcoming appointments this week?
Nope we just had our appointment yesterday! Next one is in a month :)

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings?
Not really! Still just random nausea and constipation. I had a MASSIVE headache yesterday so that was not fun.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant- due to a change in our insurance, we'll now be paying about 4x what we paid for our first birth. So that's cool. Rave- I LOVE our new doctors office. We actually got to sit down with the lady in billing and discuss real numbers and prices and how they bill and what our insurance would cover. The place we had DS didn't do anything like that and I wish they would have. Also our doctor is so straightforward and doesn't sugar coat or BS. She answered all of my questions about repeat c sections and vbacs open and honestly and I admire the hell out of that. It made it easy for us to make a truly informed decision.

GTKY:  Are you planning a baby-moon?
I wish. DH is going through fire academy while also working, we've got a one year old, it's just not in the cards for us lol! But if we did, I'd love to go somewhere remote. Up in the mountains, trees and fresh air and fishing. Yeahhhhh. That'd be nice.
  • 12 weeks!!! Last week of first tri!!!

Baby is plum sized now. :)

I had appointment a few days ago. Decided to do the blood test for gender so one of my bffs can do a small gender reveal party. I've never had and she's never had one or thrown one and she wants to do it for me. I couldn't say no. :) We'll find out on March 18th!

No new symptoms. Tired still less bloated feeling. Hungry all the time.

My prenatals are huge. My OB wrote me a script for some to help not make some feel so sick. The samples were nice and normal-sized. The ones I picked up from pharmacy are HUGE. They put the term "horse pill" to shame.

No babymoon. I have two other kids. Getaways are hard. We did get away alone for our anniversary last month which was nice, though.

    How big is baby? cherry

Upcoming appointments this week? Nope. Nothing until 12 weeks.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? Some symptoms are getting worse. I'm exhausted all the time. I'm also starving all the time. I have to pee a lot. But no actual new symptoms.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  How is it that pregnant women are expected to keep working normal hours? I struggle to make it through meetings without falling asleep or having to go to the bathroom multiple times.

GTKY:  Are you planning a babymoon?
Nope, but we didn't really do a honeymoon either. We took a trip with my family to Hawaii about 6 months after our wedding and I didn't want to spend my vacation days on two trips. I really don't want to spend my vacation days now.

How big is baby?   According to my spiffy new ticker, it's the size of a donut hole!

Upcoming appointments this week? Week and a half or so, I have a midwife and the NT scan.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? My symptoms still seem to miraculously be on the low down.  The nausea has calmed a lot.  I'm going to assume it can and will still come back, until proven otherwise.

Rants/Raves/Questions?   My pregnancy bling came this week, and I love it!  My engagement/ wedding rings were already a little tight, so I decided to just accept it and wear a pretty CZ ring.

GTKY:  Are you planning a babymoon?  My parents offered to take Rhys to our family cottage while they are in NH this summer.  I think DH and I might plan a 3 day weekend in a cabin somewhere, just to enjoy a little alone time.  Even if it's really just for sleeping, haha.

  • @daniellelynette I hear you on the insurance.  My deductible isn't that high, but I had a conversation with the OB office financial lady this week, and she told me that they require a deposit two months before your due date, depending on how much is left on your deductible.  For example, right now she said it would be about $1500-1700. :|  That isn't chump change. I know we'll have the deductible paid off way before birth, because of it being low but also my insurance covers almost nothing until I hit the deductible, but then it covers 100% after that.  But with DS, we just paid as we went, and there was no deposit due ahead of time.  I was surprised when I got the call, haha.

@bridge-and-wall I ended up starting maternity leave a week early bc I just couldn't handle it anymore.  I truly thought I'd make it to 40w.  I do think we should get mandated pregnancy naps after lunch, though.  Food makes me pass out.  Second tri does get better!!

  • @ColoradoHiker we made a down payment of $241 yesterday, and now we are making 5 or 6 payments of $650. One payment a month. It's like we just picked up two extra car payments. (Our car payment is $300) so that kinda hurts a little! And she said thy can't bill the insurance until after the baby is born. I had to duck out mid financial talk to change and feed DS but DH talked to her and knows all the things. She said we'd probably end up paying around $6,800. Ughhhh.
  • @daniellelynette    :o:o:o   Wow.  You're making me thankful for having a relatively low deductible.  I'm probably going to have to work out a payment plan with the OB office as well, I'm just waiting for a couple things (like my first u/s and a trip to the ER) to clear my insurance first.  The office said they would reimburse us if we ended up overpaying, but (call me crazy) I'd rather not overpay them, who knows how long it would take to get reimbursed.

How big is baby? a "tart kumquat" (???)

Upcoming appointments this week? first thing tuesday... then potentially first thing the monday after, since I'm trying to change doctors. I am fed up with having to chase down people from my current office to find out test results (they never call, wait for you to call and see if the results are in-- does anyone even look at the results if you don't call? I hope to never find out since I want to LEAVE)

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? no. Still queasy all the time. :-( Still craving and tolerating almost exclusively carb-heavy foods.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  anyone switched doctors partway through a pregnancy? it's going to be a little strange since I plan to get the Panorama NIPT drawn at my old dr. on tuesday, which takes a couple weeks to come in, by which time I don't want to have to be dealing with them any longer!

GTKY:  Are you planning a babymoon? booked a week in portugal! and bought travel insurance! hah.
  • @zetega I switched OBs at the end of first tri with my first due to a move.  It really wasn't an issue, and I ended up liking my new doc a lot better.  If you aren't happy with your current office, I say go for the switch.

  • I was forced to switch OBs at 38 weeks. Mine had to have shoulder surgery, he was assisting a very large patient and he tore his shoulder to shreds. Ouch.
