Re: PGAL Check In 2/13

  • 1. How far along are you? 35w3d

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? Next appointment is on Thursday. Hoping to pass my GBS test so I can had an IV free L&D. I absolutely hate IVs - likely due to the 6 surgeries I've already had in my life (#HeartConditionProblems)

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I totally freak myself out on a daily basis regarding movement (Is it the same? Does it feel less intense because she's running out of room, or is something wrong? I haven't felt her at all this morning, what if something happened overnight? etc. etc.). Thanks PGAL brain!

    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day? Nope. Honestly, the only "romantic" thing DH and I do, is exchange letters to each other on every wedding anniversary (we started the day we got married). We don't really celebrate Valentines Day.

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? I have an appointment today- Will have the GBS test and probably a cervical check and they will try and confirm LO's position.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Just feeling more uncomfortable these days- back and pelvis hurts, get up at least 1-2 times a night to go to the bathroom. Even though I am feeling so lucky to be pregnant, I am pretty much over it at this point.

    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day? DH will be out of town tomorrow so we went to a movie and had a nice dinner this past Saturday.

@JustAnotherUsername16 I am the same way with you about movement! Every morning when I wake up I wait for movement- for some reason I think something happened to her while I was sleeping every night. Thankfully she appeases me most mornings and gives me a little something to make me feel better so I can go on with my day. Exchanging love letters with your DH is so sweet! <3

@dubcompanion I'm sorry that you are having a hard time with PGAL brain. I am as well, especially with the movements. I've been driving my husband crazy with this and I start poking my belly to get the baby to kick back if I haven't felt him in a while. I hope that you pass your test.

    1. How far along are you? 34 weeks 5 days

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? On Thursday I am having my growth scan. At my last appointment they said that the scan will set up the path that my delivery will take. My last growth scan showed nugget being in the 12th percentile for growth. So I think I'm anxious about him being small or having to deliver early if his growth is restricted.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I just feel very anxious at this point. Even though my due date is still over a month away I feel like I could go into labor at any moment since I'm high risk for pre term labor. I don't mean to sound like I don't appreciate my pregnancy but I think I will be SOOO relieved when this is over.

    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day? We don't feel like doing the traditional Valentine's Day stuff, so we are going to do a belly cast! We bought a kit at Babies R Us. I think it will be a fun thing for us to do!

  • @Sarahbobby I hope your next growth scan shows him a bit bigger but either way you will have a good plan going forward. A belly cast sounds cool! I saw those kits at Buy Buy Baby when I was there- you should post a pic of the final product :)

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? had perinatal this morning and have OB appointment on Thursday

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Friday will make it one year since I had surgery to remove my ectopic pregnancy...in the back of my mind I keep thinking about how we would have a 5 month old had the pregnancy been a normal one

    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day? we do Chinese take out and a movie for Valentine's Day...I ordered him some specialty coffee but it won't be here in time...we don't usually do gifts but I found this company and thought he'd like it

  • @Spartanrd4 I'm glad to know I'm not alone, but I wouldn't wish this anxiety on anyone! Logically, I know that everything is likely fine, but my mind just goes to the worst places. Good luck with the appointment today!
@sarahbobby I'm praying for your growth scan!!! On a happier note, with Valentines Day being all about love, the idea of spending the day with your DH doing the belly cast sounds so special and what a wonderful way to memorialize your pregnancy for your LO to see one day!!
@ngcsugirl1112 I'll be sending thoughts your way this week - I know that Friday's significance cannot make this an easy time for you right now.

@ngcsugirl1112 Hope your appointment goes well on Thursday- will be sending you good thoughts, reminders of loss are not easy.
  • How far along are you?

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to?
Looking forward to our shower on Sunday! Our families did them separately, so this is our last one and I can't wait to get things all put away and organized!
    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I'm most definitely on the train of poking the belly if I feel it's been too long since feeling any movement. @ngcsugirl1112 I hope you're able to do something nice for yourself on Friday. @sarahbobby I hope everything goes well at your growth scan!
    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day?
I plan to make real food for dinner and a giant cookie since whenever I bake he asks me to make one. And I got him socks because he's a weirdo about his clothes and the sales guy was really good at suggestive selling when I picked up his pants. Otherwise there are usually no gifts.
  • @Samm1225 Have fun at your baby shower on Sunday!
  • @JustAnotherUsername16 I'm the same way with movement. I have been freaking myself out focusing on when/what I feel all the time and it's driving me crazy!

@JustAnotherUsername16 Having my GBS test done next Monday. FX for both of us we the choice of an IV-free L&D, although I am not against epidurals if I simply can't deal. But I definitely want to hold off on a "dance partner" (as my mom would call it) for as long as possible. I've had over a dozen surgeries in my life time to fix a cleft lip and palette, so I completely get the IV hate!

@sarahbobby I hope your growth scan brings good news! Enjoy making a belly cast with your H; that sounds like an awesome way to celebrate V-Day as a couple this year!

@ngcsugirl1112 Thinking of you this week. <3 I hope your Thurs. appt goes well.

    @samm1225 Enjoy your baby shower!

    1. How far along are you? 36+2

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? I'm looking forward to 37 weeks, if only because LO will be considered early term if she decides to announce her presence early!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: On Sunday, I fell out of bed while sleepily reaching for my glasses on the nightstand. I landed square on my back and received a painful bump on the side of my head and another on my elbow from the bassinet beside the bed. LO was kicking moments later, but DH and I still opted to go to L&D for fetal monitoring. I was pretty confident that there was no abdominal impact on the way down - plus my Snoogle had fallen first so it provided a cushioned landing - but I was still thankful we went and had 100% reassurance that all was well. LO hated the monitors and kicked at them almost constantly for four long hours! She was still active on Monday but a tad quieter than usual. I actually wasn't really worried by this, because she'd exhausted even me by the time we left L&D. ;) I feel so foolish that I've fallen down half a flight of stairs AND fallen out of bed this pregnancy, considering how careful and concerned I've been for my baby's well-being. She just keeps proving time and again what a tough ninja she is, and I'm sure she'll continue to keep me on my toes when she's on the outside!

    4. GTKY: Any plans with your DH/SO for Valentine's Day? He cooked me a yummy dinner of Spanish tapas sandwiches, and we rented Arrival on Amazon Prime.
  • @dubcompanion I'm sorry to hear about the fall - I'm sure that must have been scary! I'm glad you went and got fetal monitoring to put your mind at ease. I would have done the same thing. And please don't feel foolish - I read somewhere that pregnancy makes you especially clumsy and something like 40% of pregnant women have sought fetal monitoring due to a fall during pregnancy, so it's not just you I promise! I'm happy that you and your little ninja are doing well since then :)
  • Thank you for the kind words @JustAnotherUsername16!  <3
  • My growth scan went extremely well yesterday! It was the best news I could have expected! His growth is back on track and weighs over 5lbs! I drank a bunch of milkshakes the past few weeks to try to beef him up so I don't know if that worked or not! They said that he could come at any time now and he'd be fine! They wouldn't try to stop my labor! What a relief!

For the past two days I thought that I was going to have him this week. I've been having bad cramps with contractions, but they end up going away. They checked yesterday and I was not dilated so the contractions haven't done anything yet. Yesterday when we left the doctor said, "See you next week, if not sooner." So who knows what will happen!

@dubcompanion don't feel foolish about your fall. I fell out of bed at one point too, but it was more like a slide because of the huge pillow that I use. Like the others said, pregnancy definitely makes you feel more clumsy.

@samm1225 I hope that you enjoy your baby shower!

@spartanrd4 the belly cast turned out great, although I did get very dizzy from standing for so long and had to take sit down and pop off the cast before we were done. Fortunately enough of it was set that we were able to finish it with me just holding it. I'll try to post a picture of it.
