@KaraMG35 I'm sorry you're feeling rushed, I know that would annoy me as a FTM because I have about a zillion questions at every appointment haha. I keep a running list in a notebook so I don't forget any! The only time I've felt rushed with my OB was actually my last appointment, but I knew she had a mama in active labor (she was answering her cell and giving orders to nurses) and she told me she had been at the hospital all night. I think with the unpredictable timing of their jobs things like that are to be expected every once in a while, but if it was a pattern that would bother me.
Had my 30 week appointment this week. This was the last of my 4 week appointments and now I am on 3 week appointments. Normal stuff, BP and Pee. They did an ultrasound and he is measuring a week and 2 days ahead but they didn't really seemed concerned about that. Most of his measurements were normal but his head was in the 97 percentile, so not sure about that. All the doctor said was they feel better about a bigger head than bigger shoulders. Also got the TDAP vaccine and a prescription for a breast pump. I loved seeing him on the scan, we couldn't get a good picture because he refused to take his hand off his face. But when we saw the 3d image of him it was so amazing, he had lips! He looked just like a real baby! haha I know he is one, but still it was great to see. Back in 3 weeks for a regular check up and I'll meet our practices mid-wife, I've only seen OBS before so I'm interested to see the difference.
I had my regular check up wth the OB today (33wks 2days). They don't feel justified in changing my due date but they seem to think he's probably coming early. They want to start internals and do the strep b test at 35 weeks instead of 36. My blood pressure has been 118/60 the whole pregnancy and this appointment it went up to 132/88 which they "aren't worried yet but watching it closely" and said I need to take it easy for a little. The appointment made me feel even more worried about things than I already was.
I rescheduled my appointment yesterday so, I could get a haircut. I moved it to monday when my husband is off and he can sit with my toddler, bonus! This is the first good hair day I have had in a while. I have no regrets.
Had my 32 week appt today and all is well. I have my c-section date April 7 @ noon. I also requested a clear drape, but they don't have those. BUT, they do have the one's with the windows, so I'm super excited to get to watch my son being born!
@cafedisco I think one of the ladies in my birth class used that guy. I chose the ultrasound school because of it should have been a simple 5 minute scan for position and it sure doesn't take rocket science to figure out where bum and head are, and it was only $50. I had my appointment today and my midwife is fine with wherever I want to go. I'm leaning towards Prenatal Peek for like $75. It'll be 10-15 minutes and I'll get 4 3d photos out of it.
In other news, I am "clinically perfect" according to my midwife. Hemoglobin was good, weight gain is good, baby's head is still easily palpable where it ought to be. I'm starting to let myself dare to believe I might actually get a home birth.
I'll do my GBS test in 4 weeks, another routine checkup in 2 weeks. My midwife should be back in her own space by the first of April...I *might* still be pregnant :-P
Re: Appointments 2.13-2.17
Labs ended up coming back incomplete--so frustrating.
