V Factor Leiden? **TW**

Hi!

I got my first BFP after my latest FET and am now 8 weeks pregnant with Twins.  My RE had put me on Lovenox in hopes of helping implantation after 2 failed cycles.  He did not test me for any blood clotting disorders.  My new OBGYN wants to test for blood clotting gene mutations prior to discharging the Lovenox, which I appreciate.  Well, it so happens that I just found out my sister has one of the gene mutations- V factor Leiden, which means I have a 50% of having it too.  I am still waiting on my lab results,  but I'm curious...  Does anyone have this gene mutation? And if so were you put on blood thinners At time of transfer? How long were you on it?

@APM_SLP I have factor V that was TW** diagnosed after a loss end TW*** but I am heterozygous so for me they have me on low dose aspirin while TTGP and throughout pregnancy.  I think if I had ever had a problem with a clot than they might consider lovenox but since I haven't we have not gone that route.  I did IUI and ended up with twins, we were on low dose aspirin the whole time and the pregnancy went great. Now that we are pursuing fertility treatments again I'm back on the low dose aspirin.  GL and congrats on the twins!

I have factor V Leiden heterozygous as well. With my son, I was only on blood thinners post partum for 6 weeks.  I'll be starting stims next week, and I do not have to be on them unless an issue arises until I am post-partum again. My sister however is homozygous and would have to be on blood thinners for the duration of a pregnancy. My RE did tell me that with my factor V, multiples would be even more high risk and I would most likely be on the lovenox in that Event.  Good luck & congratulations! 

Eta: i also am on low dose aspirin for ttc and will continue through pregnancy when that happens

@Marley629 I am totally delayed in thanking you for your response! My blood work came back positive.  I'll continue with my lovenox until I'm 12 weeks and then switch to baby aspirin.
