  • 1. How far along are you? 23 weeks, 2 days

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Feeling a little more tired than usual.

    3. When is your next appointment? The 17th

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: Our nursery furniture will be delivered on Saturday! So excited! :)

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? FTM here so I don't have prior experience, but I'm really looking forward to my sister giving me her ergobaby carrier. I just don't know how people get errands done without one of those things!

  • 1. How far along are you? - Expecting mom is 21 weeks 6 days
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? - She didn't mention anything in particular, but I swear I'm gaining weight for her.
    3. When is your next appointment? - Feb 17th (appointment twins with @wifeinraleigh28, apparently)
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions:  - Curious to see if the placenta previa has moved any.  Based on the "high risk mommas" thread, if it doesn't the C-section could be as early as 37 weeks?  That puts us at May 23rd, which seems SO CLOSE!

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? - I really want a ring sling (we also have a Boba wrap), and DH really wants a Lillebaby structured carrier (or, more structured than the wrap).  I'm letting him pick his own on that one...but I'm on the hunt for a ring sling!

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? My must haves from DD #1 would be rock n play, dohm sound machine, swing, boppy lounger for the early days!
  • @krex I just googled ring sling because I've never heard of that! Is there a reason you want that over the other types of carriers? I know nothing!

@helloaustin123 Wow 24 weeks, you must be tired of waiting! I haven't heard of any OB waiting that long. Ours was done at 18 1/2 weeks!

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby?  My baby wrap and carrier for sure!  With two toddlers running around, I need my hands while keeping LO close.  I love that bonding time and keeping baby close to me.

    boppy pillow

    Wet bags
    Diaper sprayer
    Travel system
    Sound machine or tranquil turtle

  • @wifeinraleigh28, I wanted to get one for the really early newborn stage, when they're so small.  I'm sure that the wrap carriers will work just as well, but I like the "over one shoulder" aspect of the ring sling (since that's how I carry my purse and everything, so it's natural for me to have someone over one shoulder.

    Plus - they're SUPER cute!

  • @Elyse1384 I grew up on the west coast and now live on the east coast, I don't think I will ever get used to the super bowl being an evening event.

    1. How far along are you? 20w3d
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Hip/back pain, some heartburn, but generally feeling pretty good!
    3. When is your next appointment? A/S tomorrow!
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: DH finished painting the nursery this weekend which is really exciting, and we have the crib so we just need to put that together. Love that things are coming together! DH absolutely detests putting things together though, I told him he better get used to it at this point.

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? FTM here so no clue really!

  • How far along are you?
    21 weeks
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week?
Hip pain and some reflux at night.
    3. When is your next appointment?
I have an OB special consult on the 24th because I am trying for VBAC.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions:
Loving the stronger baby kicks she is doing!  I need to get moving on cleaning our gear and setting it up for this baby.  FX it all still works.
QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby?
I had to have a lightweight wrap baby carrier for the first few months so I bought a k'tan.  My structured carrier is great but better for when she is a little sturdier.

  • 1. How far along are you? 20W1D
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? My body is sore, sore as in I had the hardest work out of my life.
    3. When is your next appointment?  Thursday fro my 20 week ultrasound.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: Everyone always tells me how little I am when I say I am having twins. It is annoying.

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? I am really looking forward to getting the uppa baby Vista stroller. I think with twins we will be using our stroller more than the average person.
  • 1. How far along are you?  21 weeks

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? I feel like my tiredness is coming back a little but still feeling great!

    3. When is your next appointment?  March 6th

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: had our gender reveal this past weekend and Baby R is a...boy!  Just like my feelings from day 1. DH and stepson are so excited. They made me get up early Sunday to go to babies r us and finish the registry.

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? even though I'm a FTM, I'm also a pediatric nurse and have been taking detailed notes of things that help my moms make it through their often lengthy hospital stays. My #1....a good sound machine. No matter how noisy those IV pumps beeps or how many times I drop my pen, the babies with sound machines sleep like a dream. DH is hoping for a mamaroo which would be nice too but I'm nervous because how do we even know our little man will like to swing?  He may not have the expensive taste like his dad does.
  • @krex check out wild bird ring sling!
  • @kmd0501 Congrats on your little boy! How exciting! And yay for finishing the registry. We did BRU as well, in addition to Amazon. Sometimes when I'm bored I scroll through my registries and day dream about filling my house with all the wonderful baby things. I'm such a nerd! :)

@LOTON01 Ugh, peoples' comments are so annoying. Why anyone thinks it's okay to comment on a woman's size (big or small) is beyond me. Also, when DH and I were at Disney we saw quite a few with the uppababy vista, seems like a good one for more than 1 kiddo! What made you decide on that one over some of the others? Just curious.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: My legs are sore from working out last night. I need to get on my BRU registry and add/delete a few things. I also need to call a couple pediatricians to schedule interviews and my insurance about the breast pump. I swear there's never enough hours in the day.

QOTW: What would you say is your #1 must have baby item for the new baby? Mine are cloth diapers, a way to feed him (I'd like to bf), a swing, and lots of clothes, lol.
  • @krex check out wild bird ring sling!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I did lots of research on strollers. The big thing for me was the tandem vs side by side. I live in downtown Chicago, so lots of people and small spaces. We also really liked the bugaboo but the downfall was its heavier, pricer, and you have to remove both seats to fold it. I really like the mesa car seat that clips right into the Vista stroller, no connectors needed. The huge basket on the Vista was also a big deal for me. With twins I feel like running into target or the grocery store I will be using my stroller vs a cart more.
  • @LOTON01 Makes perfect sense! You're definitely in a unique situation since you'll have 2 babies at once! :)
