  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 34 weeks today! Only 6 left till D-Day.

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? Baby is about 4.5 lbs according to my app, officially as pregnant as MIL was when DH was born. Also on weekly appointments now!!

Upcoming appointments this week? Check up Tuesday and getting my tDap vaccine. Likely just a standard check up.

Any new symptons or changes? Starting to get a bit of swelling in my feet and legs. All the sudden getting heartburn now too. I'm totally turned off by dairy now as a result. Actually, I'm not really enjoying eating much anymore because I always feel sick after. So I'm having to really force myself to eat.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My rant is that I'm finding it really tough to adjust to how much my body keeps telling me to slow down. I have so many things I want to do, and almost as soon as I start doing it my body goes "nope, you're done". It's making me feel lazy. as a random, we have a doula coming over tomorrow to see about her services. Had decided against one, but we're going to meet with this lady and see what she says because she came so highly recommend by a friend. Really looking forward to meeting her.

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night? we aren't watching the super bowl because it starts at like midnight our time. But I'll probably watch all the commercials on YouTube the next day. Never really been that info professional football. We'll probably just watch tonight's SNL tomorrow after meal prepping.

  • @kjd291 eek term!!! So excited for you!

@longliveregina congrats on having your son use the potty! That's a pretty big step! Glad his party went well. I'm with you on the spd- I have had pelvic pain for months. My dr told me it's normal but it is very painful to get out of bed, get out of the car and walk. It's pretty miserable especially the further along I get.

@npaulie glad you made it to 34 weeks! About the heartburn - are you taking anything for it? My dr prescribed me Zantac and it has really helped. I was taking it only at night but now I have it all day so I started taking it morning and night.

How far along are you/weeks left to go
    ?
    34 weeks! About 6 wks

How big is baby/new developments or milestones?
Baby was 5 lbs 3 oz at 32 weeks. I'll get another measurement this Tuesday at my u/s. I think he's going to be a big boy.

    Upcoming appointments this week?
Tuesday - progesterone shot, nst, u/s, dr appt

    Any new symptons or changes?
Acid reflux, pelvic pain, feeling gigantic, out of breath all the time

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
It was my birthday yesterday - the big 35 so officially AMA. I went out to dinner with my bff and made it out for an hour and a half before being too tired and needing to go home. DH and I got a couples massage today which was amazing. Then we went to dinner early. This morning DS had his big brother class and it was cute to watch him learn to change a diaper and learn to swaddle. Great day today

  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 33 weeks! About 7 more to go according to the app

How big is baby/new developments or milestones
baby is the size of a ferret! Or a bunch of celery. New developments? LO is already bigger than both of her siblings were at this point in my pregnancy, making it impossible to sleep for sure!

    Upcoming appointments this week?
    Just had one yesterday!

    Any new symptons or changes?
not really! Just getting more and more pregnant and therefore more tired and having trouble with chores. Bending at the waist is no longer a feat I can accomplish! And having random fits of hormonal depression. I have all these tasks I need to get done before baby comes but they seem so overwhelming!

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
Baby shower on Sunday! We're expecting like 13 people which makes me sad because it shows how alone I am here in Kansas, all the guests are DHs coworkers or family, except one lady coworker of his who has been so sweet to me, she offered to make the cake and has been really friendly whenever we cross paths but we haven't really hung out otherwise. I wish we could! And the small number of guests also makes me happy at the same time because its not as much strain with preparations and cheaper to buy the food haha. So its a mixed bag. Im just looking forward to eating good food and opening whatever few presents there are and playing some games with DHs family at least!
GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night
not really a fan but I do keep up with a few select teams and enjoy watching occasionally. No plans for Super Bowl Sunday and rooting for the Falcons for sure. The Patriots cheated last year to win the Superbowl and I cannot believe they were allowed back in after the video, pictures and verbal confession from Tom Brady were released!
  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 33 weeks.  7 weeks give or take (hoping this baby does not follow my last who ended up being 9 days late)

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? Size of celery.  Wouldn't be surprised if baby is around 5-6lbs since it was 3 lbs at 27.3 weeks

    Upcoming appointments this week? Tuesday

Any new symptons or changes? Sore, tired.  My 2 year old shared her cold with me so I've been coughing constantly and not sleeping well.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Can't believe the last two months are here.  Seems like there is a lot to get done still.

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night  Packers fan here....so I guess I can cheer for the Falcons since they stomped on the Packers two weeks ago. I like watching for the commercials.

@korpisar happy belated birthday!! Sounds like a wonderful couple days celebrating it :) I can imagine the big sibling class makes everything feel more real! How cute!

@npaulie You'll have to let us know what you think of the doula! Hope your get together goes well :]

@longliveregina Glad his party went so well! Sounds like a blast! And hurrah for potty!! Hope he can continue to show signs and want to keep at it! How amazing would it be to have that done before baby!?!
My DD is 18mo, and probably won't be ready to potty train, but I feel bad I'm not going to even try for a while having two under two.

@Jen524 hope you get over your cold! I've been sick this week too-pregnancy and taking care of a kiddo is hard enough combo without the cold!

@silverbulletband hope your shower goes better than you expect and you can become closer to the ppl invited.
  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 35 weeks! Maybe 5 more weeks to go...

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? Pineapple with fully developed hearing, lol

Upcoming appointments this week? Final meeting with the doula!

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really, still heartburn like woah + everything else.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I've been mostly MIA for a little bit, my grandmother has been very sick and I've been helping out. She's doing better now but it's been a draining week to say the least, that plus DH having a man cold sort of left me at bottom. Took this morning to treat myself to a great bagel and Starbucks and much needed me time.

ALSO, a month ago a friend from undergrad (we were close then but drifted and I haven't seen her in a decade) said she was having a hard time and I offered for her to visit and hang out with me for a weekend. We've been texting on and off, nothing definitive. She's definitely stressed to the max and not doing super well. I gave her a few weekends that I said might work, told her to get back to me about her schedule and I'd check with DH and get back to her with a confirmation. Yesterday she told me she'd booked plane tickets and would be here FOR FIVE DAYS WHILE I AM 37 WEEKS PREGNANT. I'm at a loss. I'd be fine with 2 or maybe 3 days- honestly at that point I know I'd be pushing myself and would only want to be active parts of each day, I'm not going to be taking her to tourist attractions for 8 hrs a day- but I don't want her here for 5 days. Even if I wasn't about to give birth, that's just a long time for me to have a house guest I haven't seen in a decade who I know will take a ton of energy to be around and frankly that she booked the tickets without checking with me is feeling like a huge red flag... but I'm also super emotional for obvious reasons right now, so I think I might be overreacting? Trying to figure out how to respond to her. I also feel bad because I know she's not financially well off, staying in a hotel anywhere near here is pretty much out of the question for her and I know changing her tickets would be a fee of hundreds for her as well... I don't want to suck it up and host her for 5 days, but I also feel guilty that the alternatives all cost her substantial amounts of money... even though I never told her she could come for those dates before she booked the tickets, and she never tried to confirm the dates with me.
& that's my novel for the week. Blah.

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night
Love watching football, but not a fan of either team. I'll probably just be on team eating all the snacks tomorrow night.

  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 36 weeks today so maybe a month

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? He's theoretically a papaya but all the docs say he's bigger

Upcoming appointments this week? NST on Monday and Thursday and 36 week appt on Friday. Probs get the strep B test then. @npaulie I got my dTap at my last appt and I'm not gonna lie, you'll need Tylenol for a few days so heads up....

Any new symptons or changes? He definitely dropped.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My mom and sister came over twice this week and helped me declutter and finish some crafting projects for the kids' rooms that I wanted done. So grateful for that!

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night  We are Eagles fans and usually root for the NFC team but we have lots of family on Boston area so...meh. Whoever wins..... I'm actually super bummed that we're not doing our usual plans to go to the local fire house with neighbors but it's soooo smoky in there that DH and I decided against it this year for my health and LO's. They have a private club with cheap drinks which I obviously wouldn't have but we have friends there and it's pot luck and always a great time. This year we're just watching from home.

  • @sunshine507 - You are definitely not overreacting, it seems like a weird boundary crossing, or at least a significant misunderstanding. But since she's not in a good place it definitely takes some delicate handling. I'd first day something like "I'm so excited to reconnect with you." Then I'd manage expectations. "I will be VERY pregnant, so there's really a limit to what I can do and how much I can do. I really will only be able to bum around the house with you, but I won't be offended if you wanted to go out and do x, y, z without me." I'd also warn her that for all you know baby could be there or come during her stay, and if that happens you really need to cut the visit short unexpectedly! "You might even want to shorten the trip just in case." l Honestly if she has any imagination at all she's already thought of these things, but in my experience people without kids can be really unreasonable in their expectations.

  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 34 weeks today!!!

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? Baby girl was 4lb 11oz at my last growth US. 34weeks is also a huge milestone since the drs weren't sure we would make it this far due to BP and amniotic fluid.

Upcoming appointments this week? BPP U/S and dr appt on Tuesday and Friday.

Any new symptons or changes? Nausea has kicked back in..I think it's related to indigestion since tums has been helping.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? This week, while exciting to reach where my dr is comfortable if I need to deliver, is also super scary. My son was born at 34 weeks and I hated leaving him at the hospital in the NICU. We were there 10 days and I hated every second. I've been hoping and praying we might get far enough not to need it this time!

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night
I may watch for a bit, but mostly I'll be bumping and facebooking while my husband watches :)
  • @Lexxilou1986 I'm glad baby is still cooking! Every day from here on means less risk and a shorter stay (or maybe none!) in the NICU. Small milestones: think about how in just two short weeks baby might not need an extended stay at all!

  • @longliveregina thank you so much! I'm feeling much more hopeful! As for your pelvic pain, I have SPD and can totally relate! I got my OB to send me to physical therapy (make sure it's someone who specializes in pelvic floor stuff). I have basically no pain after just a few visits. Lots of core and kegals. But it's made a huge difference!!
  • @Lexxilou1986 prayers that even though your babe is far enough along that doctor isn't as concerned about delivery you will still get to put that off for a few more weeks!! But congrats on making it this far! I know from what you've shared on here it hasn't been an easy journey. You're doing a great job! Keep strong.
  • @kjd291 thank you so much! I'm hoping for a few more weeks for sure! He said he has a pretty low threshold for inducing at this point so I'm trying to be extra good about my bedrest!!

Im sorry you're dealing with so much anxiety! It can be so hard dealing with the worries involved with preeclampsia when you've had it before! But it sounds like your BP is doing good and you are "term" which is super amazing! I hope you will be able to go into labor naturally and on your own this time around. But it sounds like you are doing everything you can to keep you and baby girl safe!
  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 34 weeks

How big is baby/ new developments or milestones? Butternut squash now. After reading that yesterday, I dreamed I was cooking butternut squash for dinner.

    Upcoming appointments this week? Nope.

Any new new symptoms or changes? Kind of. My fingers aren't really swollen but they're big enough sometimes that it's getting hard to take my rings off so DH is getting me a new ring to wear for now.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? We helped DS Skype with MIL and FIL this evening. We want them to be able to have a good relationship even though they live halfway across the country. Plus, since they're coming 1-2 weeks after baby comes it'll be nice if he's comfortable enough with them so they can help entertain him.

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl? Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night? Nope, we're not big football fans. See above for what we did.

@kjd291 I'm glad your shower went well and you were able to feel blessed by your friends.

@longliveregina Yay for DS wanting to go potty!:) I'm potty training my DS right now too. He doesn't have many accidents but I still have to remind him almost all the time. Oddly enough, he will go to the potty himself when needs to go no. 2.

  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 35...5 left but I'm also telling everyone a month!!

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? An approximately 5lb baguette

Upcoming appointments this week? Group b strep test and checkup, then one more after this week until weekly!!

Any new symptons or changes? Starting to feel some pressure on my pubic bones if I'm trying to kick/slide the heavy boxes along the ground at work. Guess I need to do more kegels.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Nothing new..just feeling crunch time!! Only really essential thing for baby is getting closet space fixed to hang up all his clothes (DH has been putting it off for too long now) and installing car seat. Otherwise we need to buy a new mattress for when my parents come to stay with us for a couple weeks after baby is here.

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night? Watched the super bowl because it was on. DH was rooting for Falcons because it wasn't the Pats lol.

Lol yes. I had to look back to see what I typed! I hate hate hate that my phone autocorrect one number to another for instance:
    22nd (I actually typed "2nd")
    Or 194th (I actually typed "19th")

It's downright infuriating and I can't figure out how to stop it. The only way to fix it is to go back and delete without pressing enter or space again...

  • @pandalily @longliveregina omg I totally didn't catch that the first time I read that. Haha!! #pregnancybrain

@kjd291 hope you're feeling better about things today and more calm. I had my sh*t got real moment this morning when I realized that as of this weekend I only have 5 weeks (1 month) to go.

@elleb11 that's a good idea to do skype with the kids before the parents come over! I imagine it's hard to maintain a relationship when they're so far away.

@lexxilou1986 hoping Bedrest comes easy for you this week. I know it's hard when you have to stay still like and you're probably simultaneously aching to get up and do stuff.

    Happy Monday everyone!!

  • How far along are you/weeks left to go? 33 / 7 to go!

How big is baby/new developments or milestones? Size of a cauliflower

Upcoming appointments this week? Normal check in on Friday

Any new symptons or changes? Not a whole lot different. Getting a little more heartburn than before.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My baby shower was on Saturday. It was wonderful! Feeling so blessed!

GTKY: Football fan? Which team are you cheering on/What are you doing for the super bowl?  Or if you aren't watching-what are you doing with your Sunday night   I'm from Massachusetts, so Pats all the way!! We actually had our childbirth class during the Superbowl, so we didn't get to watch it. We got home in time for the last play in overtime, so we got to celebrate and see the trophy and all that.
