I think my biggest issue with threads like this is when complete strangers start one-off threads. Not that it isn't an appropriate question, but I think we'd all be a lot more receptive if we had ANY idea who the person starting it is.
I mean, it isn't hard to see that the OP is brand new and hasn't participated in ANY other threads. I know many other boards are find with complete newbies posting one-offs, and that's great for them, but that just isn't the culture here.
Meh, most people on here, even if they post once a day, are gone in a few months anyways. Threads like these can be helpful to multiple people even if OP doesn't participate at all other than this. A lot of threads like these show up on Google searches now. I have personally gotten help from IF topics from people who posted but are now gone. When I first was TTCing I lurked other threads like craaaazy. And these "one off" (that phrase is starting to make me go cross eyed) threads are a heck of a lot easier to lurk for newbies than the billions of TWW/WTO threads.
Going off what @lund was saying, we have a pretty solid group of women here who post regularly and "know" each other. This group HAS evolved (as it should since hopefully most are getting their BFPs) - there are "newer" regs who had no problem figuring out the culture and joining in enough until we got to know them, too. So when someone tries to use the board as a personal google, it can rub some people the wrong way. I don't think ANYONE is saying the OP's question isn't valid. To me though, I can't figure out... why not google it? Or ask your doctor? Is it really helpful to ask a forum that you have no idea if these women have any idea what they're talking about? The Bump is known for being the science-based forum but how would anyone know that if they don't participate here? If it were me coming here for the first time, I wouldn't trust the answers I got anyway!
I don't have a strong feeling about using the board as google because like @sheknows6 said, I can just ignore the post and move on with my merry self. And I totally feel you @antoto that we want this board to be fun AND accurate, and not super restricted. This is just my two pennies on why some people may not care for this type of post from this type of poster.

I hear you, girl. But OP did say she was waiting on an appointment with her neurologist so she doesn't seem like some chick trying to use TB as her doctor. Coming off these neuro drugs can be pretty sensitive (as @kpalt mentioned) so I think hearing how others specifically had to come off those drugs may be of interest to someone who might have to do it soon.
I have no dog in this fight but...I was here in 2012 and 2014(different sn, obvs) and it's an ever evolving place. I don't think it can ever go back to the 'good old days' because they got rid of member mods. But im game for switching things up.

That is an excellent point I did not think of! But like others have said, I don't have experience so I just clicked out without responding.

I mean honestly, aren't people in general more interested in actual real world experiences? Personally when I google "BFP 5DPO" when I have my SS moments I skip the "Mayo Clinic" and go straight to the forms.
Not that those aren't full of great information but I want to know someone is also as crazy as me.

No one flamed the OP, there just weren't many answers because of how specific it was. But the ladies that had an answer responded appropriately. Then some lurker jumped in to called us boring.

I wouldn't pick a fight, especially after it's died down and people are moving on.

@antoto My response was not to "one off posts" - I could care less about that. I just didn't think people needed to get all up in arms calling us boring. That was an uncalled for lashing out. I do agree that's it's hard to get through long threads and I can only respond to a few at a time. Seriously though, this has nothing to do with feminism. Thanks for letting me know, but please let's not go there.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
*blink* @NYTino24 I was just letting you know the source of the meme. That's all that happened.
ETA - like if you don't want to bring up feminism ever in any way then maybe don't post something saying "pawn of the matriarchy" on it, completely out of the blue. That meme is straight up copy and pasted off of r/theredpill.

The WTO and TWW threads from MONDAY are still on the first page, lol.

@antoto Oversight on my part. I am 100% for everyone getting along.

Hi OP, I was on topamax for most of 2015 but never above 75mg/day. I was on it for migraines. My neurologist suggested weaning down and just not taking it anymore if I got a positive test. But my dose was so low. We weren't actively trying then so I just kept taking my regular dose. I imagine if you are TTC your Neuro will want you to start weaning now. I'd wait to "pull the goalie" so to speak until you speak with your doctor. I ended up weaning off of it for other reasons and I didn't have a rough time. But again it was a lower dose.
