GTKY: Who is your best friend (other than DH) and how did you meet?

My best friend's name is Jill.  Sickest broad I've ever met! I met her probably a week after my DH. We were life guarding at our college pool and she starts asking me "do you know what a xxx is?"  (xxx stands for every rotten thing you'd find on Urban Dictionary.) This was within minutes of meeting her and I instantly fell in love.  We were roommates the next year, she was in my wedding, I was in hers, etc etc.  12 years and still going strong..  

GTKY: What's the best concert you've ever attended? bonus: Did you throw your panties on stage?

Best concert I've ever attended was a Metallica concert.  They headlined and System of a Down was there, Limp Bizkit, and Kid Rock.  No panties thrown, I was with my dad!

GTKY: Where and what has been one of the best meals you've ever had?

Cheese, crackers and wine on a hike for a snack while dating DH. We had our first kiss shortly after. It's the company that makes the meal.

Gtky: have you ever hitch hiked or picked one up?

I have never picked anyone up! I'm scared I'll be killed!!! 

BUUUUT, I wouldn't be opposed to hitch hiking if I was pretty down on my luck. 

GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?

Spring! Because winter sucks butt and spring is the glorious awakening of green things and beauty and hope. If I may wax poetic. Also my birthday is in spring. And so is baby's arrival! 

GTKY: fruity candy/dessert or chocolate/rich candy/dessert, and what's your favorite of that category?

I'll take chocolate cake with Raspberry filling.. If it's sweet I'll probably eat it.  But I may slightly lean towards chocolatey rich if I have to pick.

GTKY what is your drink of choice when you go out to eat (pregnancy aside) ?

GTKY: If you have to get ready and leave in a hurry what is the one thing you can easily cut out of your routine?

Inspire by a conversation I overheard from my fifth graders today, who was your first celebrity crush?

Ok so when I was too young to probably have any actual romantic feelings, I was convinced I was going to marry Zorro from the old black and white tv show. But when I was old enough to have a real crush I wanted either of the Kratt Brothers from Kratt's Creatures. Either one was fine.   

What's your favorite movie that's technically for kids?

Beauty and the Beast! Can't wait for the new version to come out next month (right in time for my birthday)!

GTKY: What's one beauty product you can't live without?

Black self-sharpening eyeliner! (Or mint Chapstick, which I legitimately cannot live without but don't necessarily think it's considered a beauty product)

Do you play any musical instruments?

I played classical piano and the violin. I haven't played in forever though. I wish I kept it up. My piano is still at my parent's house.

Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?

Maui! It's my happy place! We loved Norway too, but it's not as easy to get to often.

What kind of neighborhood do you live in?

I live in what I call a "decent" neighborhood. It has it's own name of "Venice East"; however within Venice East there are subdivisions as well as just normal neighborhood roads.  DH and I live on a normal road lol. My Dad actually lives down the road in a subdivision. Hope that makes sense...

What was your favorite game growing up?

I live on movie quote. I have been known to have an entire conversation in movies quotes so I don't have just one favorite. On the short list would be " I hated her so much that flames, flames on the side of my face, hot, heaving, hot, breath, breathing, flames..." -Clue and " I've been to this pool every year of my adult life, and every year there she is oiling and lotioning, lotioning and oiling. I can't take it anymore!" -The Sandlot

GTKY- What is your favorite pizza topping?

I'm a mushroom and black olives kind of girl, but when I'm feeling spicy, it's pepperoni and jalapeños!

GTKY: Boxers or briefs?

Boxers. I've tried to get DH to switch to boxer briefs because those are my real favorite, but he has been very resistant to change.

What color clothing is most prevalent in your wardrobe?

White or pink. I have so many different styles of white t-shirts and tunics, it's crazy.

Yesss!!  This was my favorite movie growing up...but I think I only watched it b/c I had a crush on Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez

@Virginialeigh @shaunessa I knew what movie that line was from the after like the first 3 words. I loved that movie and now my boys love it too! DS watched it at least once a day last year during baseball season. And yes, Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez

My favorite date I ever had with DH was on our first vacation after we got married - we went to Waikiki and he surprised me with a fancy dinner where we were the only people on a patio at a super nice restaurant. 

GTKY: when you were little what did you think you wanted to be when you grew up?

I wanted to sing/dance/act on Broadway. I studied Musical Theatre for most of university, but changed my major after studying abroad in London. I ultimately desired more stability/certainty than the Arts provide to most.  Ended up with a Communication Studies degree and have been winging ever since.

GTKY: Did you have baby names chose as a girl/teen? If so, what were they and would you use them today?

At 14, my future children's names were Mackenzie (no middle name) and Aurora Belle. I got impatient and shortened Mackenzie to Macy for my dog and after working at Disney for seven years, I can't imagine naming my daughter after two princesses. It would feel a little cliche. Also, I clearly never planned to have boys. 

DH and I are watching the live-action Tarzan. What's the last movie you watched at home?

The Magnificent Seven. I really enjoyed it. It definitively doesn't pass the bechdel test though lol. But a nice violent romp. 

What does your dream home look like? As in, style/bed/bath or whatever.

Traditional 3-4 bedrooms 2+ baths, a playroom and a large kitchen... A guesthouse or mother in law apartment and a large fenced in back yard for my dog.
