  • How far along are you: 36 weeks, I almost can't believe it!

How big is baby: a papaya

Upcoming appointments this week: this Friday, I'm excited to see how big the little guy is and if he's facing down

Any new symptoms or changes: baby's movements are very distinct, strong, almost forceful. Most movement with this big belly takes extra effort.

Rants/Raves: Rave: Friday my DH's job is throwing a baby shower, Sunday is the church baby shower and my mom finally told my hometown church where I am registered, things are finally coming off my baby registry!  DH's job is placing bets as to when I am giving birth, as early as Feb 11 until March 1. Told my DH to put us down for March 3.

GTKY: What are you doing to cheer yourself up: Truthfully I wanted a girl so I could have a Disney Princess, however I have done my best to embrace my Disney boys, with Mosters Inc being my theme and Mickey Mouse. However I bought myself Cinderella flip flops for hospital shower shoes, Minnie Mouse button down pjs for breastfeeding. Bought the birthing ball to make things more comfortable and early labor at home. I bought a Mickey Mouse ears knit hat to match the going home outfit, I think I'm going with Mickey Mouse head to toe, i got Mickey socks!

  • 33 weeks today! 7 more to go!!! She's as big as celery!

No appointments this week but I have one the 9th.

Not really any changes. Just done being pregnant. I've literally haven't been able to walk more than a block without being in absolute pain and hurting for days after since 15 weeks. I can't just sit all day and "take it easy" like my doctor says. I have an 18 month old to take care of and feel like I'm a terrible parent because I can't play as much as I'd like to with her. I've been feeling really depressed because of my limitations and not being able to just go to the park with my daughter. My doctor just chalks everything to it being normAl but the pain has become excrusiating. I just feel like a prisoner in my own body and I'm on death row walking to the electric chair.

Rant: my husband is in the militray and housing in germany is apartment living. Well come one lastnight tracked mud throughout the stairwell and had the bright idea of scrapping the mud off their shoes on the stairs and just leaving it! I've never had issues with people in our building until this new couple moved in. Everyone who has been in the building the past year+ are extremely annoyed.
Rave: my husband has been a saint during this pregnancy. He knows my struggles and how I just breakdown all the time and he scoops my daughter up and makes us have "family hugs" aka my daughter getting excited and running away after a couple seconds squealing making us both laugh.

One thing that has helped with my sanity has been taking baths at night. It's my little alone time and the pain subsides for the time im in the tub.
  • @rfoster2014 so sorry your doctor isn't taking your pain seriously.  baths sound wonderful!
  • How far along are you: 35 weeks

How big is baby: the size of a butternut squash

Upcoming appointments this week: Had my perinatal appointment Monday, have OB appointment tomorrow (they don't want me going more than 3-4 days without being seen)

Any new symptons or changes: I woke up at 2 am with hip pain last night...jumped in a hot shower to try and relax it, then put a heating pad on it....then at 5 am woke up with knee pain

Rants/Raves: I'm dreading calling the ILs whenever we head to the hospital...I don't think they'll respect our wishes not to have anyone there until baby is delivered, we get some rest and time to spend with the 3 of us...I plan to have a "Come to Jesus" talk with them the next time we see them

GTKY: What are you doing to cheer yourself up as we are getting deeper in the third trimester: I'm not really feeling down...but my mom is coming up tonight and staying the night to help me get the baby room organized while DH is out of town :)  I'm excited to spend the one on one time with my mom.  DH is so worried baby is going to come while he's in California for work until Friday...told him I'd do my best to keep baby boy put until he got home

  • @ngcsugirl1112 maybe try the trick of telling the nurses not to allow visitors?  Good to hear you're spending time with your mom, that should be nice.
  • How far along are you: 34 weeks!  6 to go at the most :)

How big is baby:  butternut squash, pineapple, quokka, savoy cabbage, basketball hoop, Tim the minion, large bag of potato chips, baseball glove

Upcoming appointments this week:  tomorrow OB appt, NST again on Friday morning....hopefully it goes better than yesterdays

Any new symptons or changes:  apparently the dr on call at my NST didn't like my BP numbers so I had to go over for BP monitoring at my last NST.  So higher than usual BP, I'm hungry (I just want food I can't eat because of GD!), Can't get comfortable, constantly waking up in the middle of the night, bladder feels like it hasn't been fully empty.

Rants/Raves: Baby girl is moving around all the time!

GTKY: What are you doing to cheer yourself up as we are getting deeper in the third trimester:  nothing too special.  Buying some additional things we may need that hasn't been bought yet.  The next purchase will probably be our stroller/car seat combo.  I've been trying my hardest to wait until my next baby shower, but I am getting worried that I'll have a baby by then (MIL didn't listen when I said the dates I'd prefer.....)  I find registry stalking very therapeutic.  lol

  • @mecoats sorry you're struggling with all the uncomfortableness of thirs trimester!
  • @disneybaby84 I asked the lady who gave us the tour at the hospital about that...she said they can put a flag on our room to not allow visitors...I plan to do that...no way do I want a surprise knock on the door and have it be my ILs...because they would surely do it

@disneybaby84 and @Gators&BoSox this!  I'm excited to have a little Disney Prince to take...we're already planning to take a family vacation in 2021 for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World :)

@direwolfmini I'm dreading it, too, but it needs to be said.  I just wish I didn't have to come across as the bitchy DIL all the time...why DH wants me to be the bad guy to his parents is beyond me.  But at this point, I don't care.  If he doesn't like the way I choose to do it, he should have done it himself.

  • @Gators&BoSox I know Bibbidi Boppiti Boutique does little boy things, I know boys get fun roles in Tales with Belle, but I love my Disney Princesses! I'm making it work with Monsters Inc and Mickey Mouse.  But thanks for the cheerful note, it's sweet of you!
  • @ngcsugirl1112 I'm planning on going for the 50th too, all the renovations will be done and if I know Disney, there will be lots of special things!
  • @disneybaby84 I got to go twice to Disneyland for the 60th anniversary...so.much.fun!

We took DS last year and he got to do the pirate experience - I forget exactly what it's called but it was cute and he loved it. We got so many compliments on his outfit and he was so pumped to be jack sparrow :)

  • How far along are you: 33 weeks

    How big is baby: celery

Upcoming appointments this week: nope. not til next week

Any new symptons or changes: Cramping and the need to pee a lot....

Rants/Raves: My hips and legs are so tender

GTKY: What are you doing to cheer yourself up as we are getting deeper in the third trimester: Finally getting baby's stuff ready. Ordered the furniture and I am hoping to have the room set up within the next 2 weeks
  • How far along are you: 35 weeks! What!??!??!???!??!????!

How big is baby: Pineapple, child backpack ha!

Upcoming appointments this week: None this week - I start my weekly appts next week on Tuesdays.

Any new symptons or changes: Continued heartburn, I think she is really low, have been feeling more movement deeper in pelvic region. Still have to eat small meals though!

Rants/Raves: The nursery is almost complete! Just need to hang a paper mobile and a monogram and I will be ready to have her sleep in our room while we just look at how pretty her room is ;)

GTKY: What are you doing to cheer yourself up as we are getting deeper in the third trimester I started watching Suits - really good show so far. I am making sure I am taking it easy in the evenings so I get as much rest as possible. I've read babywise, and my DH said he is all on board with whatever plan I have for feedings/sleeping/sleep training/ schedule for the baby so that makes me feel good and I will not feel like we have differing views on approaching this whole parenting thing! I also have been running errands as much as possible because I know just popping out of the house to grab stuff or to make a nice dinner will be a thing of the past for a few weeks/months at least.
  • @lindsey2017  must be a nice feeling to have the nursery mostly done. Good to hear you and DH are on the same parenting page.
