Any tips for surviving the 1st few weeks? Keeping a human alive is starting to scare me a bit...
mantra to keep in mind. "This too shall pass."

So so many emotions, so little sleep, everything feels difficult and exhausting. It will get easier- babies change and grow so quickly.
This is exactly how we are looking at it. :)

  • I honestly have always felt like the first two weeks are easy with sleepy newborn plus baby high.

Week 2 when the baby is more awake and having a spurt is where it gets exciting.
  • For the two week pediatrician appointment, are there any vaccinations?

This! ^^ Everyone made me have such low expectations, I thought the first week or two were a breeze and great transition time to get used to having a babe before the harder growth spurts and evening witching hours

@imalwaysme79 you'll have to call your doctor office. We had one in the hospital and then there was nothing until the 2ND month well visit.

@gretchypoo the first few weeks are rough. I learned to just ask for help. I just focused on baby and myself, ignored cleaning and made simple meals. But both my mom and mother inlaw live close and they wanted to help. Like others said "this too will pass." I would move the baby swing in front of the bathroom door, so I could relax in the bath too and have baby close just incase.
  • @imalwaysme79 I second the advice of calling the doctors office. My DD had one in the hospital and won't get any more until her 2 month check up.
