2. Group date in a haunted house- Would you have bought into this "Mae" story?
3. Corinne and Taylor's two-on-one date deep in the Bayou. Thoughts about Corinne playing the victim? Thoughts about Taylor being sent home?
4. The cliff hanger- Taylor comes back and crashes dinner- will Corinne be sent home?
5. Do you even like Nick? Are you cheering for him? Is he serious about this?
Re: Bachelor Fans: Week 5
I really like Rachel. She seems classy and confident, but still fun/flirty. She and Nick seem to have great chemistry. The date was cute! I like when they explore the location they're in - makes it seem more real than some of the other crazy dates. And definitely a step up from shoveling cow poop.
I had to laugh when Jasmine was trying to be all cool and pretending she wasn't scared... then totally freaked out and left Mae's room screaming. It's hard to say if I'd have bought into the Mae story...watching on TV is one thing, but I bet when you're actually in the house watching random furniture move it's a little more real.
This episode I actually started to dislike Taylor. I swear if she said "emotional intelligence" one more time... she was just getting on my nerves. I also forgot she was 23 - kind of funny she was judging Corinne for being too young, when she was one of the youngest in the house. Still can't stand Corinne though. She is just trashy and annoying.
P.S. - Anyone ever been to New Orleans?? I was thinking it might be a fun long-weekend trip destination! Plus, those beignets...
2. Definitely would have freaked me out being there, but totally laughable to watch.
3. I really wanted him to send them both home. They are both whiny and immature.
4. I don't know. Part of me feels like they might, but the other part feels like they'll keep her around for drama and ratings.
5. Meh, I've never really cared for him. I hope it works this time, or he's going to just need to go ahead and move to the Amish country.
Eta: posted too soon
No. And I was bored watching this date. I wonder how long they were actually there?
I was so sure he was going to send both home. Taylor turned into a whiny catty person or at least was edited that way.
No, I think it will be just super awkward for Taylor and then Corinne will get 1 or 2 more weeks.
I'm even less of a fan of him now. I hope he finds true love/success just so he can stop being on all the shows.
1. Nick and Rachel 1 on 1 in New Orleans- Thoughts on this date/couple.
This date was definitely the best of the episode. I think they are super cute together. She hasn't got into a whole lot of the drama. She got the first impression rose. I can see this going pretty far.
:puts on mask, gets into boat to travel to my daily voodoo ceremony in the woods, surrounded by ghosts:
No comment because I have been to Houmas House several times. Unless you guys want to know how much of that was made up?
Both of them were being dumb. Corinne is a great manipulator and Taylor shouldn't have gotten sucked into it. Taylor should have been sent home because she obviously cared more about being right than having a good time with Nick.
I think the Bachelor is the wrong place for anyone serious about finding love. He wants to be famous. A girlfriend is a bonus. I don't dislike him for that though, because the girls are all there for the same reason.
I really like Rachel and thought was very fun and more like what a normal real life date would be like
so strange. Just seemed like an awkward idea for a date
im so done with the drama of these two. Not loving Taylor, but would have rather seen Corrine go home
i don't think any things going to change
nick is just kinda meh to me right now
An actual normal date so that was nice. As others have said, this was by far the best date of the episode. I like Rachel but I see her as a more serious career person than Nick so I don't see them long term.
I personally don't believe in ghosts and things being haunted so this date just bored me. I am very jumpy though so I'm sure I would have screamed like those girls too when things "unexpected" happened.
I'm so over both of them. Such a boring part of the episode. Just go away!
I read the spoilers so no comment...
I'm liking him less and less. It's just so fake!
@secicc12 my college roommates and I went to the FQ as part of our spring break trip one year (just a day trip). I thought it was really cool! We didn't get all sloshed and stuff like a lot of people tend to do especially since we drove after being there. I felt really safe there and we explored the shops and had good food. I loved the architecture. I recommend not driving on Bourbon Street though. Too many people walking out from no where! We were there prior to hurricane Katrina and it was so sad to see the destruction after. My Dad went and helped with the clean-up for a couple of weeks and besides the comments he made about the destruction/devastation, he commented about the good food and drinks.

Houmas House is just a fancy place to stay, visit, eat dinner or walk the grounds. They do claim to have two ghosts on their website, but they never mention them when you visit, normally. The chandelier falling and furniture moving was definitely set up by the show.
One of the ghosts is supposedly a little girl, but they don't know her name, her details, she doesn't have a room or a portrait. That was all totally made up.
My guess is that they wanted to do a haunted plantation, but didn't want to go all the way to the Myrtles (about an hour further from the city), and Houmas House was willing to let them set all this up for the publicity.
Most of the well known haunted places in the city are private residences or small hotels, so probably not good filming locations.
@bumpybump That's really helpful thank you! That's so nice of your dad to spend time helping with the cleanup after Katrina. It sounds like it's a great place to visit for a long weekend. Who can say no to good food?! I'll leave the drinks to DH and double up on beignets.
Definitely don't drive in the FQ, but you get the best taste of the city when you get out of the FQ a bit. Take the St. Charles streetcar through the Garden District and into Uptown, and you can get out along the way and walk around a bit. If you decide to go, let me know and I'll suggest some great spots to eat/drink/listen to music.
