Pregnant after a Loss

Any success stores of getting pregnant after a Chemical Pregnancy?

I just had a chemical pregnancy a few days ago and I am looking for some insight on some success stories of getting pregnant after a chemical pregnancy. Any advice/insight/feedback is greatly appreciated. I can't help but think that a CP might happen again and that's what I'm afraid of. So hoping your stories can help me through this

Hi there - I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I had never heard of chemical pregnancy before I had one to be honest. We ended up having to go the IVF route after ours but I do want to pass on one of the best pieces of advice I ever got, from a nurse, do NOT give in to the early pregnancy tests. CPs are fairly common - likely this wasn't your first and you just weren't aware. I know for those of us TTC it's really hard but, as you do try again, wait until after your missed period to test. Best of luck and baby dust!

  • I hope we can conceive again. I guess Utsav just discouraging when something like this happens.
  • @tvisram it really is. And there's nothing wrong with feeling discouraged, especially since it was so recent. But I'm hopeful for you that you'll be back here soon.
  • @tvisram I can totally get the discouragement. I had 2 CP before my son and was terrified of getting pregnant again. After a tough pregnancy but healthy birth I was over that fear.  And then I had my MC.  And all over again the fear came back.  I wasn't even TTC when we got pg this time we were actually waiting for my cycle to come back and it was the only time we BD with out "trying". I have to agree that in many cases we wouldn't even know that we were having a CP if we weren't TTC. Don't loose hope.  And make sure to take care of yourself.  I realized that once I kinda let life take its course I felt so much better. Good Luck!

  • To original poster: I had a CP beginning of February and I bled for only a few days after. My dr said it would be like a normal period and cycle after so we kept with our normal
schedule and avoided fertile window. It was our intention to not try and go through some testing during the upcoming cycle. Well unbeknownst to me, I ovulated early and got pregnant right away. I started having symptoms about a week and a half before next my period was due. I thought there was no chance that I could be because we followed the schedule as normal. Well here I am 6 weeks pregnant. Betas  all look good so far and we are going for an early ultrasound next week. So fingers crossed we have a successful pregnancy this time after 3 losses. Good luck to you!

  • I had a chemical at almost 6 weeks, back in October. I ovulated two weeks later and was pregnant immediately. I'm now 21 weeks. Anything can happen.
