Well Damien has his first official battle scar. He fell head first onto one of the bottom drawers of the crib. The drawer was open since I was getting toys out and he was sitting in front of it. I didn't catch him in time.
He cried initially but is smiling and playing now. I'm putting a cold washcloth on it periodically for the swelling, which has already gone down a lot. His eye seems to be just fine. It follows movement and such just like the other one and doesn't appear to be hurt. I'm keeping a close watch on it and will take him in if it gets worse or doesn't improve.
Poor guy, I feel so bad. I know how that kind of injury feels and I hate to see him in any pain. Oddly enough, I told myself yesterday that I needed to put a rubber guard on those since he could easily fall onto an open drawer.
Awe. I'm sure he'll be fine. Keep reminding yourself of that mommy. Lillyana fell off my couch onto the carpet (only about 5 inches) and I was a mess for 3 days. I know how much it hurts to see them fall.
