I am seeing a team of midwives but will need to go to a MFM consult next week to discuss the plans for this pregnancy and the steps we should take.
    4. How are you doing? R/R

  •  1. Why are you high-risk? Postpartum stroke after delivery of DD

    2. How far along are you? 9 weeks 2 days

    3. How is treatment going for you? Okay. I've been having a ton of testing done and still have a ton more. My stroke was something very rare so they aren't quite sure why it happened. I did a 24 hour urine collection over the weekend (results are normal) and a ton of blood work so they can test how my blood clots.

    4. How are you doing? R/R? Doing good besides having 2 separate colds in the last 3 weeks.

    5. GTKY: If you came with a warning label, what would it say? Hmm good question. I'm not sure haha.

I'm at the ophthalmologist right now waiting to get checked for a baseline exam to make sure I don't have retinopathy since last year or anything induced by pregnancy.

    5. GTKY: If you came with a warning label, what would it say? I put this and idk what to say!! Haha. Maybe warning: indecisive. Warning: too sweet! Haha

I have no idea. Maybe that I have very little tolerance for stupidity?
  •  1. Why are you high-risk

I have type 2 diabetes that is only controlled with insulin.

    2. How far along are you

    8 whole weeks.

    3. How is treatment going for you

Its going. I met with my new endocrinologist and her team. They've put me on the GD diet  :'(
Which isn't terrible, but it's changed what I eat and when. Like no dairy or fruit before lunch. My 10am snack was yogurt and berries. Wahhhh.

    4. How are you doing? R/R?

im doing fine. I'm just getting used to the diet. Today I'm starving and can't just reach for anything. It has to be pre planned and counted.

    5. GTKY: If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

caution: has zero tolerance for stupidity and ignorance. Don't pretend to know things around me.
  • @kailapop No dairy??? Wtf?? What do they expect you to eat??? No fruit I can see but.. lord. I'm sorry. I'd be eating all the string cheese.

  • @harleyquinn0621 that's awesome!!!! But what @Sugargirl1019 said your placenta will start making you insulin resistant again. My dietician and endocrinologist said it gets worse as the pregnancy progresses. I remember when I GD, I was taking 48 units before each night.
  • @Sugargirl1019 and @kailapop I figured it will..I still test my sugar a zillion times a day..watch carbs super close ...and the second I see my numbers creeping up again my dr wouldn't hesitate to put me back on insulin ...it's just nice to see them normal all by themselves :)

  • So I know a few of us are diabetic... I'm technically prediabetic because of where my A1C falls pre-pregnancy but have GD with my LO, I kinda found the diet they gave me ass backwards when it came to it last time and I didn't really follow it I just made sure to watch my sugars.  My LO had some health issues and required emergency surgery at 2 days old and we will never know why what happened happened, long story shortish, I'm trying to do everything different this time in case something I did caused the issue.

Has as anyone else struggled with the GD diet? This time it might be totally different for me but I was just filling out the paperwork for my appointment tomorrow and I'm kinda dreading it, which makes me a little sad
  • @adoo I'm struggling so hard with the GD diet. I thought just keeping my sugars in check was all I needed to do. Well. No. I'm struggling most with the mornings. My breakfast isn't too bad with 15 grams of carbs and eggs. It's actually a lot of food. But the morning snack is where I struggle hard. Half a serving of milk/alternatives with 22 grams of carbs, no fruit. Last week I was eating a granola bar, cheese string and 2 hard boiled eggs. But I feel like this will get old, fast.
  • @kailapop I am having a total problem with eggs right now, I can't even cook them for my son!

Im nervous about the diet, I know I won't get it tomorrow but I'm curious to see what happens.

im also happy I'm not alone in this!
