@lap018 I feel the exact same way about not using a pack n play and not bed sharing. I am hoping to side car a mini crib this time and see how that works. I used the arms reach co sleeper last time but they grow out of it so fast!
@Msashley2010 I'm glad to hear that you have overcome a tough situation. I hope you have a happy pregnancy without
When I found out I was pregnant with my first, it was literally a week before we moved across the state to a house that we got a crazy good deal on but needed a lot of work. We had to do so so much renovating and fixing up while I was pregnant that I was stressed out the whole time. I literally helped hang drywall and lay flooring while I was 7 months pregnant. Great exercise but not so relaxing. I barely had time to "nest" before my son was born 3 weeks early. So this time around, now that the house is finished, I'm looking forward to nesting and preparing slowly over the course of the pregnancy rather than running a marathon right up to the end.
Honestly, I don't think it's really hit me yet that I'm expecting again. We're super excited, don't get me wrong. However, the news of our BFP came at the same time as a cancer diagnosis for my father who is now starting chemotherapy, and a stomach flu that knocked my husband, son and I on our butts. I lost 7 pounds in less than 12 hours because I was so sick. Added all together, I've had a lot on my mind. Hoping things calm down and I can just be excited about the next little one to come!
I'm sleeping a lot less due to my work schedule and my 2 yo DS. Funny I am also drinking a lot less coffee this time around because it makes me nauseous. I've been a lot less strict on the food rules, ham and cheese sandwich for lunch today.
With DS we used a rock and play till about 6 weeks and then he was in his own crib. I found I wasn't sleeping with him next to me because every time he would stir I would wake up for an hour wondering if he was going to wake up. When he got to about 3/4 months we switched from nursing/bottle to fall asleep to CIO. He is a great sleeper. My poor cousin refused to try any method of sleep training when her 1 yo was younger, she now sleeps in bed with her every night.
One funny thing that would happen last time involved people giving me advise. One of my DH aunt's told me that my first diaper change would be challenging and no one can every figure how to swaddle right, but the baby doesn't know how it's supposed to be done either so everything was going to be ok. I then reminded her that I was a pediatric ICU nurse and had been caring for infants for 10 years.

This is my third as well. I am 8 weeks and I know that they say you don't technically show until 12... but I swear I've already been having stretching growing pains on my right side. It's so uncomfortable. I feel like I'm popping out more. Yes I know it's part bloat but it's also there when I wake. Yikes.
This time I have 2 DDs to be excited wiTh. They are 5 and 4. The 5 year old told the 4 year old "you have to be nice to mom or you will make the baby sad!"
@wellhithen I am only 7 weeks, but I can feel growing pains too (also on the right, weird!). Definitely not showing yet but I have a feeling I will soon...
