Midnight stripping

So my 2.5yo will not keep his diaper on in the middle of the night.  We have tried everything. . .  Duct tape,  backwards onsie, multiple layers, pill ups,  potty before bed. He just refuses to keep the diaper on.  Any advice on how to keep it on?

    Have you tried backwards footie pjs with the feet cut off? 
    Is he taking it off because it's wet and uncomfortable? Maybe having a stack of fresh pull-ups for him to change into on his own? 
    Putting a little portable potty in the bedroom for him to use of he needs it in the middle of the night? 
    Sorry, that's got to be rough!  At least invest in some of those plastic mattress protection sheets.
