Re: Five Things Friday 1/27

  • @KirstinH88 I love GIFs! One GIF is often worth a thousand words...

    1) The last few weekends have been crazy and I feel like I need a weekend to chill, clean/organize/get ready for Nugget.  Thankfully, I have one such weekend coming up!

    2) Going to fancy dinner with DH and his department who is hosting a bunch of conference attendees. Free food :)

    3) One of my colleagues brought Oreo cream cheese king cake to work this morning. Not traditional, but sooo tasty!

    4) Nugget has been moving SO MUCH lately and I honestly love it. It's not always the most comfortable thing in the world, but it's so fun to feel her kick stronger and in different ways. I think I'm going to miss it once she's born.

    5) Y'all, I'm still a bit in shock that I'm 30 weeks pregnant this week. 3/4 of the way to meeting her! I seriously can't wait!

  • Aww. I love this thread. @KirstinH88 you're making me hungry for Mexican food.

    1. I still haven't gotten DH's fever! Day 8 of fever and a temp of 103 last night. But me and baby are doing alright. I wonder if my flu shot is protecting us, even though his flu test came back negative...

    2. My glucose test is over with. I've been worried about it all month just because I'm an anxious sort. I don't know if I passed yet but it's over!

    3. My baby showers have set dates finally! I wish they weren't late since DH won't let me buy anything until we see what we get from them (stingiest man alive), but they're coming! 2/18 for friends, 3/4 with family, and 3/14 at work.

    4. The sun is shining today! It's still crazy cold but there's hardly a cloud in the sky.

    5. I tried walking without my boot at work yesterday even though it's only been five weeks instead of the recommended six. A little sore, but overall fine because I kept it chill. Maybe I won't have to wear it again.
  • @HGRich An 8 day fever sounds horrendous! Has your H been to the dr for it? Have they given him anything other than the standard OTC meds?

  • @KirstinH88 no kidding. The man is exhausted and yet still working from home so he doesn't lose too many vacation days. Yes, he saw a nurse once, and I asked him to ask her about antibiotics earlier because I'm pregnant. She seemed disgruntled but gave him antibiotics anyway. Then he had a follow up yesterday with a doctor, who seems to have primarily ruled out meningitis and mono and pneumonia based on lack of symptoms, but they've done no blood tests. If he's still sick Monday they're going to run tests for other things. I've been told there's a weird pneumonia going around but he's only had a cough for the last two days of the 8 so that seems unlikely. But I guess not impossible. It's been pretty sucky not knowing because I've been avoiding him almost altogether just in case it is something harmful to baby. Other than chores and making him food and checking on him it's been lonely without him.
  • 1. My BFF's baby shower is this weekend, looking forward to some baby snuggles

    2. I was so worried about my exam schedule this semester (exam week is now April 22-29 and I'm due the 28th!) due to the strike at the end of last semester but found out one of my classes has a paper instead of a final (that's due at the beginning of April!) and the other course is the first day of exam week, so while still cutting it close, it's still 6 days before my due date!

    3. I thawed tenderloin steaks for dinner but DH wanted to order pizza instead so I cooked them up my favourite style, with a side of white cheddar queso rice and am looking forward to an amazing lunch at work tomorrow

    4. Went for dinner with one of my best friends last night (Mongolian BBQ...was amazing) and we had such a nice evening pigging out and catching up

    5. our fridge freezer doesn't work lol but
we had extra room in our deep freeze for all the food and now
i can put my water and other beverages in the fridge freezer compartment and they don't freeze, but get to
the most amazingly cold temperature without actually freezing :p I like my drinks as cold as humanly possible so I've been really enjoying these frosty beverages
  • @ekzerr I had a professor who told us she went to her very last final of her entire master's degree (minus thesis) while starting to get contractions, finished it before they were too close together, and went and delivered her baby from there. I hope that doesn't happen to you, though!
  • @hgrich that's nuts!! DD was 15 days late, so while I'm hoping not to have to be induced again I wouldn't mind if baby followed in her sister's footsteps and showed up a couple days late just to be safe :p
